I changed the battery in my key fob and now every time I want to start the car I have to put the key fob next to the ignition switch and then it will start 🙄 I’ve never had this problem before when I replaced the battery!
So without that device you have plugged in you can’t program a keyvob for this model and year Nissan? I have the exact same problem with my 2018 Nissan rogue but luckily I have a spare. I tried changing the battery in the defective Vob but that did not work. So I desperately tried to find a way to program it. I had no problem doing it when I owned a 2002 Nissan Ultima but this technology has become crazy just to have a car function. I can honestly say I do not like this but I better get used to it. I could only imagine what Nissan will charge me for a damn key vob and programming. And the sad part is it doesn’t take three minutes
I am sitting at the dealer with same issue, they are charging $350+ tax to create another key for me old key was dead due to unknown reason. unfortunately my car warranty expired 2 weeks ago.
@@MuzaffarHanif Turned out it was just the CR-2032 battery that needed replaced. Not the programming. Total cost around $5. Although it’s possible yours was messed up and needed programming, I just never trust dealerships. When we bought our brand new Rogue I got home and realised they never gave me any floor mats. I immediately called them up and they had the nerve to try and charge me over $100 for a set. I told them I was bringing the car back and then the saleslady told me just come back up and she’d give me them for free. I can’t believe I was trying to charge extra for something that should automatically come with a new car.
@@Tbug666 I understand about battery and how to change I have three nissan cars never happened before, I always change batteries myself, but this time something wrong with the hardware or programming maybe, Painful part is I just got this vehicle only 2.5 months ago as CPO, I was not expecting this coming. Initially I thought it would be battery issue i just didn't get time to change I was using other car key.
Thanks for making this video. Will this work on 2017 Rogues? My mother bought this car and it's infuriating that there isn't a port for the key fob, or simply a regular ignition switch. She can't start it and of course the dealership wants $$$$ to replace.
Great video, i tried to program a nissan rogue 2014 with xtool x100 pad2 and wasnt able too,the pad says succes but dosnt want to turn on the car old and new key not working it just beeps at the end but dosnt program, and now the push button is not working properlly any advise?
You need both access to the car, and a good key, to program a new key. If they already have a good key and access to the car they don't need to program a new key.
