Whoa! I'm a NZer and this was hard to watch our young side get thrashed. However, credit where credit is due. The Solomons team reminds me of Brazilian flair the way they played - and of course the strip. They were far superior in speed, control on the ball, great finishing. And let's be honest the scoreline could easily have been much higher. Congrats to the Solomons - your future looks very bright indeed.
Let's be clear. From what I've seen, this is not only a 5-0 wipeout by Solomon Islands, this is the first defeat of New Zealand in the tournament since Australia left the OFC. New Zealand had only ever lost to Australia before. And this was, once again, a scoreline of five to nil. This is amazing. These guys should be so d*mn proud of what they've done. There is at bare minimum a 1 in 11 chance of Solomon Islands going to the World Cup in 2026, as there are 11 nations currently competing in the OFC. I can easily imagine these guys increasing those odds tremendously over the next few years. (edit: New Zealand lost to Tahiti while playing down a man 1-2.)
Mate what the actual fuck you talking about Fiji has beaten All whites multiple times before. Solomon Islands have beaten All Whites before New Caledonia and Tahiti has done it too.
I hope this crop of players gets lots of exposure and experience playing with overseas clubs,especially the defenders..with a solid defence,we might hopefully make a good run at the wc sometime soon..

Our New Zealand brothers play very well against our team. As a Solomon Islander, I must say, New Zealand is NOT a team that any opponent should underestimate. They are have fantastic players as well. Congratulations Solomon Islands and Well done New Zealand. All the best next time brothers.
By the time they (solo boys ) reach their mid 20's they won't be playing anymore but playing with drugs and Alcohol... The heat really had NZ effed up likewise the cold in NZ will have the solomon boys effed up.. if only this sport can put bread on the table and only then will football in solomons will improve.. just saying noma.
