The oil adhering to the Lane does not seem to be as big a factor as it used to be I would have to assume that this is because the bowling balls flare so much today compared to yesteryear

Only reason he's saying ban urethane is cause he has a tough time with it. I bowl in a house where urethane is normal and I still bowl 190s to 2teens, and I don't own urethane. You just have to change your ball axis and rotation by 5 degrees and you're set

if you want people to get back interested in bowling put it back on free broadcast tv like back in the nineties people can watch every sport but bowling all weekend long but bowling on cbs abc nbc fox everything but bowling there where more people watching and the prize money was bigger back in the day than now when you can only see bowling if you have dish or cable or wifi

A lot of the oil used now is so thin (0w0) like water! It is the main cause of transition/movement. I use urethane and a plastic white dot (blue 80's) and still get a lot of oil movement even with just me on practice lanes about every 4-7 shots having to do a major move as it dries up. The sponges don't help also in competition! I just tested a dozen balls from several manufacturers and only 1 (Ebonite Choice) was the only 1 I could keep on the lane. Many were in the right gutter way b4 the 7 pin all drilled straight up. i do prefer a shooters shot over a strike-a-thon. We just bowled on a shot like this & I used plastic! E J had the right idea!
