my god Andrea has such depth. the first few things i saw of her i thought, nice, but kind of light. utterly mistaken. even on this tune there is a weight and gravity that you hear in her horn playing, her jazz vocals, and that time she sang Hallel-lu-jah.

A very appealing melody, and performed so well by two special young ladies. In the last couple seconds Andrea moves over to Alba and in a big sisterly way there is an affectionate embrace. At least it's how I see it. Across so many videos by now I am ever more a big fan of Andrea.

When in the history of Jazz have we seen a duet with two vocalists of the highest calibur? And to think that they are musical sisters from the same teacher, the brilliant Joan Chamorro.

Adorable el dúo entre Andrea y Alba, posiblemente las dos más grandes y precoces figuras que han salido de la fábrica de genios del maestro Chamorro. La compenetración entre ambas, haciendo segundas voces con unas entradas exactas y un gusto exquisito, tiene mucho mérito (no sé cuantos ensayos habría antes). Había visto dúos de Alba con su amiga Alba Esteban, con Rita Payés, con Joana Casanova y con Èlia Bastida. Me faltaba el de Andrea Motis y aquí está, repóquer completado. Lo de Jan Doménech es casi sobrenatural, no se puede tocar mejor este tema, con tanta sutileza, belleza y suavidad. El resto de acompañantes, intachables. Y un par de comentarios al margen: - El vestido tipo japonés de Andrea, precioso y muy elegante, me ha encantado. Muy de invitada especial, claro, quizá un poco "cantoso" entre tantos vaqueros y camisetas negras de la banda, pero espectacular. - Y Chamorro que sigue empeñado en batir dos récords Guinness a nivel planetario: el de mayor número de grabaciones musicales en las que interviene (creo que debe superar ya muy ampliamente las mil) y el de número del instrumentos distintos que toca en ellas: saxo soprano, saxo alto, saxo tenor, saxo barítono, saxo bajo, corneta, fliscorno, clarinete, flauta travesera, contrabajo, piano y batería (puedo demostrarlo). Y estoy seguro de que también acabará por salir tocando la guitarra, el xilófono, la zambomba y las congas. Eso sí, lo de verle algún día con las castañuelas, el contrachitarrone de gamba y la manguelódica pneumática, ahí ya tengo más dudas. 😂

Such beautiful voices combined with a stunning piano and sparkling musical backing, they remind me of the original talent in Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. Alba and Andrea are on a par with Lani Hall and Janis Hansen. Can't wait to hear more from them.
