A short video on the 2018 Polaris sportsman 570. I've seen a lot of these on here, but none of the base mode and wanted to do one for the potential customer who isn't going to spend extra cash on an deluxe edition.
Thanks for the review, this is exactly what RU-vid is for. No need to be a big name hot shot RU-vidr, or known in the industry. Just a general consumers opinion is what I like to hear. I'm leaning towards these over Honda just for the fact you get more bike for less, but gamble on reliability.
For a guy that isn't a RU-vidr you make a great videos. I got a ton of good information from your video. I am up in the air about a new ATV and am taking everything into consideration. Thanks for the review and keep the good info coming.
Good review! I bought the 2017 570 base model back in May. Didn't realize they changed the instrument panel to all digital on the base model for the '18. Mine is the combo. That's a nice upgrade. Still love my bike. So comfortable and nice to ride. We ride in a lot of hills and mud and the 4 wheel on demand is sooooo nice.
Great video. I'm looking at a base 570 and was wonder what it's like. I didnt feel I needed power steering and the other deluxe extras. You just confirmed that. Thanks.
Good review man. I bought a orange base model 570 new in 2016. No power steering and no engine braking. I grew up when 300cc ATVs took you anywhere you needed to go and power steering wasn't even a thought. So I figured I didn't need it then and I dont need it now. I ended up leaving with a brand new 570 base model for 4600 bucks out the door at Abernathies Polaris in Union City, TN which is cheapest dealer in America. There is no way I would have paid several grand more just for a few gizmos I dont really need. As I said I grew up in a time when rider skill got you around rather than engine size and easy steering and dont need it now either. I do agree the 570 is pretty powerful.....its accelerates pretty hard like a 400ex sport quad I rode for years. It would probably beat my old 400Ex actually in a drag race Thats not bad for a big ATV the size of a tank. Mine will pull the front tires off the ground on demand with a stab of the throttle. For 570cc single cylinder it packs one hell of a punch.
I got the 2019 Indy red touring for me and the wife and for it being a 570 we can get it up to 58 mph. Completely bone stock and we are not the smallest people either! Definitely great machine for the price just a few minor issues buy completely reliable! Great video love the honest review!
I just bought the same excited 4 wheeler, i said the same thing about the headlights. My friend just got the 1000 and when he puts his high beam on it turns all three lights on. Btw you can adjust the high beam on the side with a coin. Great video thanks !
Finally an honest review without the whiny Honda or Can-am guys crying how awesome there bikes are. I just bought a 450 ho sportsman and it's plenty of four wheeler for work around my property
Good, straight forward video. I bought a 2018 Sportsman 570 base. Took it for a short ride last night and it sure does impress. Honestly there is no need for the power steering. Put some muscle behind those bars and you'll be fine.
Great Atv Bought my 570 sportsman basic last aug and love it lots of power and I am a big guy, just waiting for some warmth outside then I can install my winch and Bison front bumper..Have a good Riip :)
Thanks for the video, helped me to decide to get one of these myself and I'm thinking if I want more bells and whistles I will just add accessories as I go.
great video , thanks! II myslef and just an average rider who uses the 570 for trail riding and hunting. i dont need all the 'biggest baddest' item on my quad. One thing to note with these machines is the heat radiating to the bottom of the seat. i have a 15' 570 and the bottom of the seat has deformed due to the heat build up by the exhaust. the seat is made of HDPE and has no shielding so if you do a lot of slower riding, be cautious. you may start to see the front of the seat pull away from the body....mines opened up 3/4"
Thanks for the video man. I've never owned an ATV of any kind and am supposed to go pick up a 2018 model Sportsman 570 base for my first ATV tomorrow. It's almost 2 years old and only has 157 miles on it. Wish me luck!
CampFussell Glad you enjoyed the video and great choice for a first ATV. Plenty of power to be exciting but still manageable for a beginner. Enjoy the machine and learn it’s limits before getting to carried away. Be safe and have fun.
I have the same bike 2018 Sportsman 570 base model green I got it Dec.13 & I love it the bike I had before was a Honda Recon 250 the sportsman 570 is awesome I definitely recommend it.
Great job on the review, bud! Just bought a 2019 570 this week. I love it, it’s more than enough bike like you stated. No one needs a 1000 unless you’re pulling stumps. Trust me... a 570 has plenty of power. There’s a $1200 rebate on the 2019’s until December! Go get one!
I like how yours has the digital gauge ... I have a 2017 with the analogue gauge ... threw hand guards , heated grips , front and rear brush bumpers and rack extenders a 2500lb winch and 27” pro armor attack tires with 14” pro armor sixr rims
Thanks for putting this out there. I saw a video where they commented on the seat having something like a tube running through the middle of it. Any issues with that? Thanks!
There's a little screw you can turn to adjust the highbeam, mine beamed up at the trees to but you can lower the beam, the set screw is right next to the high beam light.
The 570 Is sweet! You say it has lots of power and it does. It has 44 hp and I think the 2017 grizzly 700 has 48 hp . So ya agree all the power you need for sure . Good video hope to see you do a ride video. Or a long term update on the atv.
Joe Rutkowsky thanks. I plan on doing another review after I’ve had it awhile soon, also looking into a go-pro so could see a riding video in the future.
kinda lookin at a 570, they typically run around 6-7 thousand which is about the highest i would want to go on a quad. the 570 seems like its plenty to have fun with on days off
I have to 2015 etx machines and I love them both. I absolutely have no problem with less power than the 570 or the 4:50 because it's plenty of power for the train I am in in Upper Wisconsin. These bikes I should not say bikes four wheelers get awesome gas mileage I am getting claimed 33 miles per gallon.
i bought 2 2018 2 seat'er red and like them a lot good power they are both base models the only thing is for the touring models they only come in red i wish i could of got 2 diff colors
Just bought one today!!! (2019 Sportsman) Can't wait for delivery! Question, would it be possible to place a rack either front or back??? I understand the storage would go bye-bye....
Bigtjr7667 sounds like my town. We usually drive out of state which for us is only 2 hours or so and we get great deals on stuff. Picked up my own 400 ho for about 2200 and the only problem is some scratches in the plastic.
Speaking as a guy who went from a 1996 Magnum 425 to a 2016 450 HO EPS, I can say without a doubt: That power steering is worth its weight in gold! Makes plowing a LOT easier, especially when you're axle deep in a snowbank you just pushed into!
Hi......thanks for the review. I’m buying a Polaris 570 in 2020 and I’m wondering if power steering is necessary. What are your thoughts? It’s almost $1000 extra.
KellySalt222 check out my second review video I talk about it some. For me personally I’ve never had ESP so I don’t miss it. I can use this fine. Maybe if you were going to trail ride for hours and hours it would be beneficial, but for me it’s just one more thing to break and more money. I prefer it without. Enjoy your Polaris when you get it. You won’t be disappointed.
The Ragin Cajun thanks so much! Ill be doing most of my riding with my brother in the CO snow:) I was already leaning toward no power steering (because of cost) and now I’m pretty sure I’ll be just fine without it. Thanks again! I’ll check out your other videos.
I work at a Polaris Dealer and have several ACE 570s (same engine) with over 20k miles on them and still run great, they come for service and spares every once in a while. This being said, I want to buy my first quad, I'm a novice rider and I don't know if I should buy myself a 570 Base or a 850 SP, any advice ??
BadAssEngineering if you work at a dealership I would suggest seeing if you can ride one of each and see if the 570 is enough or if the 850 is to much. I can’t see anyone getting the 570 and being disappointed and most importantly it doesn’t break the bank.
Thats what I was thinking! I live in Puebla, Mx which is at like 8000ft elev and like to go even higher on the mountains, that is what concerns me about buying a 570 and regretting not having the extra power on a 850!
Charles Wolfe Yes I am. As far as using it around my property I haven’t found anything it wasn’t powerful enough to do yet and still enjoy riding it. I would make the purchase again if I had too.
Just bought the same one, does it have a fuel shutoff knob with reserve setting? I’ve never seen an atv without it but it’s not obvious if it’s ther, thanks.
Rich Barber I've only driven a bike that had power steering once and that was for a few minutes, so to me I'm not missing anything since I've never had it on a bike I own. I have heard that if you get one with EPS then you do not want to have another bike without it, but more me this is fine. Not hard to turn or anything like that. Less money, one less thing to brake. I'd say test ride both of them and decide for yourself. Hope this helps.
Depends what you're gonna do with it, I think, but I have it (EPS) after having had a unit for 20 years that didn't. It's pretty darn nice on trail riding, but where it really shines is when I plow snow or have to deal with tight-quarters maneuvering. No fighting with the handlebars any more for me. The older I get, the less I wanna do that!
I plan on getting the 2018 here next month and wanted to know if you sealed you're belt cover yourself if you've been in deep water and noticed a leak since I've read some reviews and was warned
Red Freedumen I have not sealed mine, but I have heard that same thing. I’m in a Facebook group just for this bike and a lot of people have in the group. I have not sunk mine in deep water and don’t really plan on it, but I might seal mine in the future
Scott Witkowski It pulled that fine. I put it low and just went. I only pulled it from one neighbors to my yard. Probably 200 yards. That’s the heaviest load I’ve had on it. I’ve carried 300-500 on it a few times though and again it didn’t have any issues. I just didn’t pull it very fast in Low. I also found out from my neighbor what he have me was a little less that a cord, I originally thought he told me it was a little over when I made the video. It was my first time having a wood burning fireplace so I wasn’t as familiar with how much a cord is. That said the trailer itself is a fairly heavy trailer too, so it still pulled a substantial load. This is also more for work that play for me. I have yet to take it on a proper trail ride. I do use it daily though.
@@theragincajun1413 Ive got an old Yamaha Big bear 400. Its been good but just doesnt have enough grunt. I gotta a little 4x8 trailer. The big bear has trouble pulling that with a load of brush. I think that 570 will be good for my needs. Thanks for your review. Seems every review on youtube focus on play, rarely work.
Scott Witkowski I think you’ll enjoy it. It defiantly doesn’t have issue with brush. I’ve pulled plenty of brush, deer stand, 4-5 adults, and stuff on mine. Just have to be careful with it being belt driving and trying to pull a really heavy load in High gear. Hope it helps.
Hi Colter are there any recalls on this? I'm on the fence with this or the base can am. My research shows that these things are not very reliable do you hear that and have you had any issues yet
darwandoo I’ve always heard nothing but good things about Polaris and have heard horror stories about the electrical components of Can Ams. Mine is holding up perfectly fine. No issues so far. As far as recalls the only I’ve heard about was certain razor models, nothing for the sportsman. Hope this helps. Again I don’t have loyalty either way, just Sharing my experience
Switch 800 tires are ITP Mud Lite II, size is 26x9-12. I bought it from the dealer with these tires and rims, and can't say if there is a loss of power. I'm sure to a minuscule degree there is, however it is still plenty of power.
Ive been studying a number of ATV,s for quite a while now, I think Im choosing a Polaris 570 EPS. I plan to use it at the cottage for work around the yard, Plowing riding etc. Might consider the 850, not sure yet, what do you guys think, 570 or 850, a buddy has the 850 and it seems huge and more power than ill need, but I don’t want to look back thinking I should have bought the 850.
Dale McCluskey it really just all depends on what your going to be doing exactly. I can say the 570 has plenty of power. The 850 obviously has a good bit more. It's got about 35 more HP, 250 more towing capacity, and about 150 more payload I believe. However it also has a larger price tag. I see the 570 as the perfect starter bike, and or wallet friendly ATV. You get ALOT for the price, but if your not worried about price I would choose the 850. Once this one is paid off I will most likely give it to my wife, and upgraded to a bigger one myself.
Thanks for the response, I have the wife talked into 15,000.00 .Don’t think I can justify any more money, its really only a toy for me to goof with after-all
Thanks nice budget for a toy. I can only speak for myself, and I know this is a 570 video but I'd get the 850. I'd rather have the power and not need it than not have it and need it. Just wasn't in my budget at the moment.
Darren Hefley the tires are 12x9-12 Mud Lite II. The wheels are MSA brand however I don’t know their exact name. You can find them by searching MSA atv wheels.
judy bailey ITP Mud Lite II 26x9-12 for the tires. The rims are MSA brand, I sure of the exact name but they are easy to find if you search MSA ATV wheels
Cheap plastic rack,s.Sketchy long throw shifter is the battery down still down on the frame behind the left front tire? A buddy has one of these and blew the high range out of the tran,s. Give it a while you,LL be working on it more than riding.
Sylvain Mino never been a fan of Suzuki so didn’t even want one. The brute force is a great ATV from what I researched and read, but it’s more bike than I really needed and it was quite a bit more than I wanted to spend. Basically this was the best bike I found in the 500 class when comparing price/power/towing/reviews on previous models.
