I'm a little tipsy and just got home from a long shift. I bought two cheese burgers to eat at home before I go to sleep , then I saw this video ! Made my day !!
Red PDK GT3 owner here, so u know we are watching your vids! Been driving it every Sat and Sun morning from 6 to 9am in some local twisty roads, love it
Regarding your rev matching question: I have a GT3 with the 6speed manual. You rev match either the old fashioned way, or you press the sport button, in which case the car rev matches for you. This actually works pretty well. However, I prefer to heel and toe myself, the pedal layout makes it very easy to do this. This is my fifth 911 and by far the easiest one to heel and toe.
to my knowledge, in the GT3-setup the button does nothing else but turn the rev match on or off. In the lesser models it also changes the PSM configuration and the go-pedal response. Not so in the GT3
Rev match in the GT3 adds (not sure if the T does this) rev match on down shift without throttle release (you’re on the Autobahn, pootling along at 120 in fourth, speed limit is over, and you switch to third, WHILE FLOORING IT, and it will give you the right rev, without hitting red line), as well as shifting UP without releasing throttle. Works sensationally.
Congrats on 250K plus subscribers, you guys put so much of yourselves in these drives, makes them really enjoyable, what ever you're driving. We all appreciate the effort.
Brian Himmelman GT Silver Metallic, with Platinum color wheels, silver trim package, every carbon interior option, and contrasted GT silver stitching & seatbelts!
Great video! I have a GT3 Touring in all black. Absolutely love driving this car. I drive it to work a couple times a week (I have a 100 mile round trip day) plus on the weekends. I love the manual gearbox. I think you asked about rev matching on the Touring? That’s done automatically in Sport mode.
Thanks for a quality review. I'm picking up my GT3 Touring at the end of Oct. in Stuttgart, and this got me even more excited. Planning the road trip now...
I thought it would be boring that watching a 17 mins video, however, you guys made it different than others. I love your video! I owned 991.1 GT3 RS and 991.2 GT3 Manual currently and i absolutely love them! Would love to know more about Porsche GT cars. Keep going!
One of your best videos guys. The side by side comparison of the two cars where you listed off similarities and differences was great. I'd like to see that again the next time you have two cars at the same time.
I wasn't a Porsche guy, but I'm gradually being seduced by the 911. I don't know why the palm trees and sun coming out of Yuri shirt pocket made me laugh a little..lol
I Finn Porsche for me is not just a brand that builds race cars. It’s more than that. It’s an existing myth.. It’s.. hard to describe. You feel how the are putting their whole love and passion into every detail of their cars - for 70 years
I don't have the means to buy one but had a company gathering in Vegas and had to take the opportunity to try one out. 7 laps was not enough, but the memory will stay with me forever. It was my first time driving any kind of car on a track and to be able to do it in a 911 GT3 was immensely good. Too good for words really. I absolutely love these cars.
GT3 Touring owner, ordered in Graphite Blue Metallic, with18way, PCCB and full leather.. Love, love , love the 6 spd MT!! Just saw this, spot on video.. Kudos!
Guards red Gt3 owner with PDK from Abu Dhabi with red seat belts and sports bucket seats. Previously had the 2016 Agate Gray Gt4....as much as I loved the manual it became a pain to drive during rush hour traffic. Absolutely love my Gt3 and hands down the best car I've ever driven. The power is always there and the 9k red line is bonkers. Loved your review guys!
I would so love a GT2 RS on the street. Yes the GT3 RS is also amazing, and the sound is incredible. There's more balance, too. But that 680whp stomp out of the GT2 RS turbos makes it just mental. It always feels over-powered, which means it always feels like an event.
Blue Miami GT3, PDK, bucket seats and roll cage, what a car, the entire package is just above most cars, smooth on the road, great for track days (needs broad circuits like Bugatti-LeMans), find out it’s limits (track only) and treat yourself to one of the best machineries there is in the GT world…at much more affordable price…the $$/enjoyment ratio is unbeatable! After a full track day you just drive back home as if nothing has happened…not many cars can do that. Thanks for a great video!
I have a 2018 GT3 with three pedals. It is my sixth Porsche including a 2010 997.2 GT3 and this is my favorite one by far. I am using the car for both street and track and am a member at Thermal Racetrack in Southern California. I track the car approximately 6 days a year (not as much now with the shutdown) and thoroughly enjoy the manual. On track with rev-matching it is awesome. I may loose a few seconds to a paddle-shift, but the fun factor is worth it. BTW mine is the chalk color as well.
This is so awesome! It should probably come with a neck brace and a warning about whiplash so you don't get injured from full-throttle acceleration blasts.
I just got a 5 year old 991.2 GT3 Touring in Crayon/Chalk. It’s done 7000 km and is immaculate. You guys asked in the video how to toggle the auto blip mode in a manual GT3. There is a “SPORT” button in the center console. It should be labeled “AUTO BLIP” as that’s all it does. There are no actual drive modes in the manual car.
I have tracked a GT3 and a GT3 RS Cup car. The GT3 is amazing. It blew my mind. No car on earth sings like that car at red line. It is the most rewarding car to drive hard. CUP was next level, but the GT3 is sooo good as a drive to the track do battle and drive back car.
That launch when Jakub starts driving, sick! And asking permission to send it to 9000rpm also thanking Yuri after it, very polite. Would have loved to see Yuri demonstrating how to get to the back and see Jakub failing 'cause he is too tall :) Oh and super sick rolling shots in this one again!
Jakub and Yuri..... AMAZING job on everything you’ve done. I watch all your videos minutes after they come out. Definitely one of the best car channels on RU-vid today. But my serious question is Yuri’s t shirt in this video. That shirt is amazing and maybe you can tell me where you got from because is looks awesome. Great job again boys.
Yeah I am too checking what Yuri is wearing in every video. He has a wired but cool taste in clothes. They should be sponsored by a fashion company and get a collection.
You guys are the best. Congrats on 250K. And that GT3 has a special 6 Speed Manual and has different gear ratios set especially designed for the car alone. It's "Perfection".
Jakub has always been in tune with the driving but since I've been binging on StraightPipe videos you can really follow Yuri's evolution into the driving experience
Had the pleasure of getting to drive a GT3 on a track at one of those exotics racing places. What an amazing car. It blew my mind. Now I have to own a 911 one of these days.
Good job fellas! I have been a huge GT3 fan since I heard one going around the track at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta a while back. There's something about that sound that is just so awesome and compelling. I would love to drive one someday. Keep up the good work!
FLACHT 6 plate? You guys must be in Toronto!. I see that car in he Porsche club all the time.Incredible spec. Haven't found the owner and coverse yet unfortunately :(
SPORT button next to the shifter turns auto-rev-match on and off in MT 991.2 GT3s (As well as the GT4). Had a 991.1 GT3. Have a 991.2 GT3 manual coming early 2019 - MT, buckets, PCCBs! :) W
I would totally get a GT3 in a Paint To Sample color that I chose. Maybe a royal blue or Columbia blue. With a manual obviously. Great vid guys!! Congrats on 250k!
Guys, great video but one nit to pick. I've seen you point out a giant "spoiler" in a few videos. That's a wing, not a spoiler. Wings and spoilers are different things that serve different aerodynamic purposes.
Hey guys, i have a dot 1 GT3 RS and i love it. Pure track car because on public roads its almost impossible to hit the 9000 RPM and that is where this car is at its happiest. When you can drive it to its maximum potential, it is a phenominal car and that sound is like a drug..,. ADDICTING...........
Good job!! I have a GT3, the only thing wrong with my GT3 is the brakes! They squeak a lot, I have the steel. The dealership said they can't do anything. Other than that the car is perfect. Have good day
It comes with a six speed manual vs the seven speed manual in the Carrera T. I’ve never been a big wing guy so I’d go with the Touring option which gives you the manual and the deployable wing. Total stealth mode....it’s basically the same car as the 911 R at half the price.
991.1 here and very happy ( I like the sound )but if I was to upgrade I would go GT3 Touring in the same livery ... chalk with black wheels 😎 ... saw my first 992 on the road a couple of days ago I think it was Agate grey with black wheels ... very nice 👍
This just shows how expansive cars are over here in Singapore. From Porsche SG website the 911 GT3 before adding any options and taxes starts at SGD $671,688. That's $644,011.10 CAD.
