Velar, 100%. Doug's impression of the F-Pace just being the average of all the other lux SUVs out there has stuck with me. I guess I'm just easily swayed.
Gotta go with the Jag, I personally think it looks and sounds better. And no Rover of any kind has ever faired very well with quality or reliability, usually they are one of the worst year end and year out.
Yuri & Jakub - Jakub & Yuri I’ll keep it simple. Stumbled onto your channel a month ago I subscribed after one vid - I watch your older videos like I’d watch Netflix. Your awesome Keep it up! 👍🏼
How else can they suck out more money lol if they offer everything someone needs at the base price point. Every product manufacturer's biggest goal is to offer options and human beings like shiny things so quite easy to lure em all with fancy specs.
Have been driving the F pace for two years and 50k miles... I have never once thought to myself "i wish these steering wheel buttons did not squeak" Great car!
F pace is very solid car, driving it for 3 years now. Time for changes, so looking at Velar now, I like Macan a lot steering is amazing, but little small on back seats
First time I liked every videos from a RU-vid channel and that I need to hit the Ring Bell Notifications, because your channel is amazing. You guys giving the best, honest, friendly, familiar, cinematic reviews ! No matter if it's a Chevy Cruze or Jaguar F-Pace, you guys give all your efforts and knowledge to reviewing the cars. Doesn't matter which car you're reviewing, even for a Kia Rio, it makes me want to watch it ! It's so entertaining to watch your reviews and we don't even get bored during your videos, time flies ! Way way way better than Motor Trend, TFL Cars, Everyman Driver or others car channels that all their videos are just a classic car journalist reviewing a car. YOU ARE THE NEXT LEVEL OF CAR CHANNEL ! If we need to buy a car and need to watch some reviews, TheStraightPipes are the best reference ! If you're coming to Montreal, let me know ! Canada FTW !
Just bought a 2019 Jaguar F-Pace S.....yesterday. Santorini black with black interior and the black package and black wheels. Just AWESOME. Love the Velar too....but I am thrilled by the way the Jag drives. Both are great.
Honestly after following you guys from the first few videos up till now, I feel so proud to see how much the channel has grown. Keep up the great content
Great review guys! Def Velar for me. Also, I wanted to say, I put your videos up on my TV with Chromecast to watch, and my younger brother who isn’t a car guy at all, has taken to coming and sitting in front of the TV every time I do! He loves watching you guys even though he’s not into cars-great work as always guys!
I liked the little puff of steam @ 06:47 to segue into Jakob's turn into the Velar. I think those steering wheel controls on both SUV's are too busy and could create driver distraction. Great and entertaining review as always guys. Peace.
SO good! This style of review is awesome, y'all are super and your channel is lit. Sometimes I drive through traffic wondering how many cars next to me would pass the visor test... :)
One of my favorite things I look forward to when I watch any of their car reviews, are the creative edits they do in each video! Like the from 6:45-6:47 haha
Like Jeremy Clarkson said to James May, the Velar looks good but not in this colour. The Jag looks good because it is in the press colour (which means you can see the curves and the lines on the bodywork). If the Velar was in Silicon Silver, (as the designers always intended it to be) it would look much better. Why can't people just buy their cars in the press colour? It is obviously the most "expensive" option, because the designers spent nearly 90% of their time on perfecting that colour. It's their job to pick a colour
This is one of those few comparisons where it is really hard to pick one over another. I would want to aggressively drive the Jag, but be seen in the Velar. However, if you live in a suburban community like mines you won't see the Jag at every stoplight.
Hi Man, I drive a Discovery SDV6 - its amazing off road and like a premium jet for long distance cruising - fast, safe, silent. My kids have now grown up and I was thinking about downsizing to a Discovery Sport, or Velar, but Land Rover lent me an F-Type during my last service. I just fell in love with it. It's really an art work inside and out, the seats are like a sport car's and it's thrilling to drive. When I stopped for fuel or lunch, men would come to me and ask me about it, and say how much they liked it. But I'm not sure that I can live without real off road ability in Australia.
I like how you guys did a side by side comparison on similar cars. If you can guys please do the same for Genesis G70 and Kia Stinger. I'm stuck between the two and so are bunch of other people that I've seen on forums. I know these two are on the same platform but obviously have their differences. Keep up the amazing work guys !!!! @thestraightpipes
The design of the Velar looks amazing. The laggy screens kind of put me off though. Laggy screens suck, especially so in a high-end product like the Velar. The cyan lighting in the Jag totally kills it for me. PUKE Also, rotary shift knobs are the worst. I don't get why they haven't been relegated to the dustbin of history yet.
We were deciding between these two for my mom, we got her the Jag because it could fit in the smaller side of our garage. I'm glad we did though, it feels like a sports car
You can make the 360 degree camera come on in reverse. It’s in the settings. Just about everything can be changed on these in the settings and sub menus. Thanks for the review!
Awesome review as always guys On a side note, I am not too big of a fan of the velar There’s just something about the side profile The Range Rover sport however is the nicest looking Range Rover, and it’s only a few thousand more than the velar 👍🏻✨ EDIT: I just read that the Range Rover sport is only 1,350 dollars (US) base price more than the velar, with more off-road capability My money really is on the sport now. Also I like the more rugged look of the sport ;D
Every time I watch your videos I imagine that we could be friends in another life. Keep up the great content. Perfect balance of information and entertainment.
The statement that "No one will ever drive off road with these" is just not true. As the third owner of two different Land Rovers, I can confirm that owners one and two will indeed never drive off road, but owners three and beyond will drive off road as much as possible and everywhere. Their off road capability is amazing, just amazing: from 50 degree C heat along and across the Darling River to snow in the Australian alps. Thanks for the great review men!
It might just be me, but I really don't like the huge number of screens on these modern cars. Given that these screens don't exactly last that long (think how long does your TV last these days?) when the screen dies, you either have to fix it at a hefty price, or lose out on a LOT of functionality. Pretty sure it would mean used car prices for these kind of cars will be pretty bad also.
Great review and your videos are extremely entertaining. Since we're on topic of comparing luxury SUVs; how about the x3 m40i vs glc43 AMG vs audi sq5? Maybe throw in the macan s while youre at it? Im subscribed for sure!
Lads really enjoyed your review of these two fine British SUV's - I want into the JLR showroom in Belfast to buy a F Pace and came out with a Velar R Dynamic SE with 22 inch alloys first edition alloys - what swung it was the inside of the Velar , which is simply stunning and aesthetically very pleasing on the eye. Not to be pedantic but the Velar comes with the dark and contrast ivory leather interior which you guys loved so much in the Jag.
People say range rovers get stuff broken really quickly and that "my car is with the mechanic more than me" is it true... Cuz if not iamma go for the rover man...
I've seen it where both are in the shop more than with its owners range rovers seem to have more mechanical problems where as Jaguars seem to have more electronic or software issuess.
Bags of milk are also really just an Eastern Canada thing. Back in Alberta we have jugs just like THE REST OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD. Bagged milk is freakin' weird.
"I'm already stressed out with these screens" I felt a spiritual connection with this. Visually overwhelming infotainment/center stacks can entirely turn me off from a car.
Jaguar f pace looks much better than the range rover velar, I'd choose the jaguar, here in UK more old people drive range rovers and jaguar f pace and e pace are more common with adults with young families, people in 30s to 50s, both nice cars but the Jag is stunning, I've got a jaguar e pace and love it, chose the e pace over the f pace for my first jaguar had it 3 months now and we'll impressed 👍😁🏴
This is the best comparison I have ever seen, you guys rocks, Ooops nearly forgot...I have Subscribed without even blinking. Keep it Up, can't wait to see your other future video's.
@ alon guetta and in Gaza, do they even have milk ? You don’t fear God but His wrath on you will be TERRIBLE - you’ll wish you had never moved to Palestine
not to the fact that i am British but..this question reminded me to the oldie but goldie question " who do you love more your daughter or your son" right? simply it's "unfair" to do a comparison video
As a ski designer, I find the curvaceous lines on the F-Pace sportier and more appealing than the straight lines of the Velar. There is not a single angle on the F-Pace that I dislike, and yet I find the front of the Velar 4:09 simply boring; it just doesn't offer much in terms of being aesthetically pleasant. Put a ford emblem on the velar it would definitely fit the Ford style, but not so on the Jag which has very distinctive signature lines all around.
