Great videos! It’s almost impossible to find videos of people off roading the newer rav4s. I just got a 2017 rav and was looking for videos of them to get an idea of how good off road they are before taking mine out. I’m in Gresham Oregon. So not far from mount hood and and there’s a lot of places around there to go. Keep the vids coming!
The lock keeps the front wheels from slipping first before the rear tires engage. Without the lock engaged the fronts will slip for a split second before the rears kick in. It does act as a real 4wd on dry ground for example;if you lock it and turn sharp frontward or backward, the car will jerk. The bad part is the traction control will limit wheel spin but in deep snow and mud disabling it will let you spin freely.
