As a lifelong Buckeye fan, I highly respect you're acknowledgment of the refs clearly calling so many ghost penalties against us. Much, much respect man. It takes a lot of class to do that.
Not saying it's rigged but it does seem odd that in 2016 when it was better for the B1G that the buckeyes win & the refs called in favor of the bucks but last year when it would've been better for the B1G that Michigan wins Michigan got the better calls.
Noah Dempsey you're kidding right? In 2016 it'd have been better for Michigan to win. Had they beaten OSU they're in the big ten title game and likely big ten champs. Then the big ten champ would've represented in the playoff, instead OSU won and the big ten champ PSU was left out.
As a Buckeye fan that saw a lot of talent leave in the first round last year and also losing JT and then losing Bosa ( a first rounder) basically for the year, Haskins and this very young team went 13-1 and grinded out a Big10 Championship. Extremely proud and I wish Haskins all the success in the NFL.
Daniel Doyle Haskins got thrown into the Redskins game against the giants a couple weeks ago and looked fucking terrible. But regardless of whether or not he has what it takes to play on the NFL, he doesn’t stand a chance with a garbage team like the skins
I was going to say "Remember the Cooper era?" but that was actually better than Michigan is doing now. They are 1-14 against Ohio State in the last 15 games.
@Shawn obviously you're not a maize and blue fan or you would know that OSU fans don't use the letter when speaking of TTUN. That's the team up north for your info.
My dad was a lifelong buckeye fan. Even went to the ice bowl game in 1950. This was my fathers last game.. he died the next day. If I recall Michigan was favored and I prayed to the Lord not to have Dad go out with a loss. The good Lord answered my prayers. I’ll never forget the smile on my dads face at end of the game. Makes me tear up now. RIP Dad.
@@arctici1ce well there are a lot of mathematically gifted students these days. I’m one of those people. I want to be an engineer when I’m older. I have never had anything but a 4.0 gpa and I hope to keep it like that. OSU is a top college, they won’t let just anyone in. Plus, god made me very athletic. I know there is a small chance of playing college football, but I dream big and work hard to achieve my goals.
This is from a Gator fan & it’s really not that complicated. It’s DOS vs Windows, single tasking vs multitasking. Harbaugh has a formula that works when his lines of scrimmage can dominate. Put Michigan up against comparable talent and force them to be creative and you can stick a fork in them, they’re done.
It's shocking to me that Harbaugh seemed to learn nothing from the Ohio State game and went out and stubbornly did the same shit against Florida. With Patterson, Peoples-Jones, Black, and Nico Collins back next year, it'd be criminal if he didn't open it up and air it out more. Those WR can MAKE PLAYS. It's he's stubbornly handing the ball off to some mediocre back instead 60% of the time he should be fired.
TTUN is 4-1 all-time against the Gators with the most one-sided score being TTUN's 41-7 win in 2016. Why don't you Gators come and play a game up north sometime?
OSU fan here. Not gloating. I enjoyed this analysis. What I would suggest is The Game came down to two words, "Dwayne Haskins". He's by far the best OSU passer I've seen in my life. Total confidence, poise, quick release with barely a wind up, and complete accuracy. That is almost impossible to defend. There were many plays that I missed on TV because the ball was already out. He's that good.
They’ve been top 10 under harbaugh every year he’s coached. Saying they are now not elite is a complete joke, considering we just left the Brady Hoke “era”.
ClearlyCaribbeanReb Enlighten me on how I am. Michigan has been ranked in the AP top 10 teams since Harbaugh has been coaching. Ever since Woodson left, Michigan has been a joke before Harbaugh got there. Like I’m talking not even ranked top 15. I’d say they are an elite program now, rather than 10 years ago.
To anyone wondering why Don doesn’t use a zone more often, the short answer is it’s because it’s easier to beat a blitz with a zone behind it. He blitzes ALL THE TIME, and if you get pressure like you want to when you blitz, you only have to cover for a couple seconds behind it. If there’s a zone behind it, you can start to read it and run hot routes into the spaces and move down the field all day. Not getting pressure is the issue, not coverage. There’s a reason the cliche about games being won or lost in the trenches exists.
Michigan supposably was on "REVENGETOUR" couldn't win Big Ten Title and couldn't beat OHIO STATE, and finally during BOWL season couldn't beat FLORIDA! WHERE'S THE BEEF! lol
As a Michigan fan I think next year we will go 10-2 again but beat Ohio because Ohio is losing a great coach and the first year with a new coach is usually rough. I think next year will be like 2011 for Michigan we beat Ohio get excited to be Wolverines again and then next 5 years we lose.
@@noahdempsey3329 It's possible, but it's just too early to say. Ohio State loses Urban, Haskins, a pile of WR, Weber, and 4/5 of their OL. That's basically the entire offense. But they'll have Tate or Justin Fields at QB, and a new set of playmakers. OL is more of a concern, it's a thin position group. But Haskins was a first year starter this year, too. Didn't seem to slow him down. And whoever wins the Tate Martell/Justin Fields battle is probably going to play very well.
@@willieo6027 Very true. I would not be willing to bet on us winning next year but I think if I was going to make a way way too early prediction I would Predict Michigan losing mainly because Urban is gone. That being said on game week My mind could be completely changed and we could see Ryan O'Day has a lot of Urban Meyer in him.
Michigan has fewer Southern players than Ohio State. Thus a miss match game nearly every year. Neither team should consider them selves mid-west power house teams. Neither team has regional pride. Clemson has regional pride and does not need mid-west players in order to win. Indiana is also becoming less of a mid-west team every season. Why have a B-10 championship game if neither team represents the mid-west?
"inside this box, Jimmy is as good a coach as there is in college football" That must be the imaginary box that ucf has their national championship trophy in.
Brady Hoke always had Michigan ready to face Ohio State. Every game was hard fought. They replaced Hoke with Harbaugh, and Michigan has been blown out three out of four years.
2 out of the 4** Y1, blowout loss to eventual playoff winner. Y2, double OT (JT was short). Y3, close until some freshman QB comes in and looks better than JT. Not to mention JOK shits the bed in the 4th. Y4... I don’t even know what that was other than a waste of a couple thousand to fly across country and witness a live beat down.
@@ksiegel1418 JT wasn't short he crossed the line in the air and got pushed back. His forward progress was past the line. Stop trying to find an excuse
You can take the comments from this guy in the video and apply them to the 2019 game. Literally the same thing, the same beat down, Michigan making the same mistakes. Its deja vu all over again.
This the Buckeye CROWD I want to see this year in 2022. Honestly More than just being a Young team, with a sketchy defense that needed a shift.. The Wolverines Beat us last year because of the Battle at the Line of Scrimmage and they showed up to play 'The Game' ..
10-3 with a blowout against Penn State. No matter how much u hate them u can't say that's overrated. Every team has bad games. Such as the Purdue vs ohio st blowout, and with ohio sts top 5 recruiting classes they manage to get every year they should beat Michigan no matter what happens. Maybe Michigan might have a chance this year without HoF coach urban Meyer.
I come back and watch this annually. It warms my heart and places me in my happy place. But his self-awareness was off the charts... Also, rewatching this again, I can't believe how astronomically Urban out-coached Harbaugh in this game. I mean, really badly.
I clicked for a minute and then stayed for all the commentary. The girl at the end summed it up best when she said no player on the OS team has ever lost to Michigan. Think about that.
I think that's happened twice when Troy Smith started as an sophmore. He won 3 times. This first time in Columbus you would have to look who were freshman on that team, because the Buckeyes didn't lose again in the series until Luke Fickell's loss to them in Ann Arbor. Urban was 7-0. Wow.....
I love Ohio State and hate Michigan. The respect that I have for history and tradition of Michigan football makes me believe that you all deserve better that empty promises and embarrassments on big stages.
Steve is so honest and it’s great…….🤣 As an OSU fan is so nice to see you in this much agony and distress…….As a Xichigan fan you deserve all of it plus some
as a buckeye fan-props to you for your honest and objective view of "the game". you commented early in the podcast that harbaugh is 'one of the best' when coaching in the box,-really?- well, he needs to coach outside the box to begin to have 'real' success in the future. just look at the second half's of all of the past 4 osu/michigan games, he does not change/alter nor disguise the game plan, were urban so smartly does. i am still waiting for a "24-23" or "28-27" final score-good old fashion "The Game". yet this 2018 game kinda makes up for the many many cooper years, Thank You Urban and God Bless You !!!!
" michgan didn't lose cause they got out coached" yes they really did it's not like Ohio State offense just came up with there own plays the head coach urban myer and coach Ryan day did
IK. As a Michigan fan it would hurt much less to say whatever we put ourselves in the best position to win we just weren't talented enough. If that was the case we could solve that but it hurts so much more knowing it's because of coaching.
The thing that gets me is how we beat the hell out of teams like Penn St., and Maryland that OSU had a really hard time with, but they handled us like we where nothing.
Well Mark. When Michigan dominated the series. You had the best players from Ohio wearing Maze and Blue. Elvis Grbac, Desmond Howard from Cleveland and Charles Woodson from Fremont, Ohio just to name a few. When Jim Tressel took over? Michigan no longer got the best talent from Ohio anymore. Won a championship. Urban got hired, we not only got great Ohio talent we got it from every state. Including Mike Webber from where? Meeecheegan!! And well, Urban won a ship here in 2014. Go Bucks!
@@willievickers2318 I was talking about last season. You guys had a really hard time with Penn st., and Maryland. We ran over those teams last season. That is why many people where not even giving you guys a chance last year. Then you made us look like a total different team last year then we did the rest of the season. We still have not recovered from that beating. I expect to get beat down again this season. We let Illinois score 25 unanswered points before we started scoring last weekend. We still beat them, but that is ugly. I'm really not looking forward to the big game this year to be honest. We let you guys get unanswered points we are not going to win.
I was alluding to your comment. We did stuggle against Maryland. Lost against Purdue. We see red during Michigan week. Game time? You see what happens.
I’m only 19 so the 42-27 game stung me as a buckeye fan i started paying attention to sports right around 2014 when bron came back and the buckeyes were hyped up 2014 will be my fav buckeye season my first natty season
O-H-I-O I'm one of those Buckeyes fans that want UM to win every game all yr/season.....Until "THE GAME" The Big Ten is better with UM in the mix.....my thoughts....
C'mon man, the B1G had a chance to go undefeated in Bowl Season a couple years ago until mich choked. Their college is filled with sensitive SJW's who'd rather read poetry.
Everybody says Michigan could have beaten Notre Dame at the end of the year or at least Michigan fans do but I say and probably everyone else says after watching the allies of this game this video shows that no way in hell would Michigan do anything that lose worse to Notre Dame and when Notre Dame can dominate you then your team is no longer part of a college football Elite. Goodbye Michigan time to go to graze around the hay field with Nebraska. When any middle-of-the-pack power 5 teams wishes to trick their Core group of fans into thinking there are becoming a Powerhouse all they have to do is trick them by playing Michigan or Nebraska and hoping their fans still think those are Powerhouse teams so they can give their fans a false sense of reality their team has arrived and their fans can puff their chest out and think beating Michigan or Nebraska means anything anymore
I can't believe you're comparing UM and Nebraska. Get lost. What was Nebraska's record? What was UM's record? UM lost three games to three top ten teams. Who did Nebraska lose to this year? Don't be a hater just for the sake of hating; it makes you look foolish.
It's crazy watching this UM defense versus what Mattison and Hafley have installed at Ohio State. Yes, the Buckeyes have the Bullet, which I think is Viper for the Blue, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends. The Buckeyes show man, but slip into a zone a lot of the time. Everyone was saying that the QBs looked bad in the spring game, but I think at least half of that was that they made their pre-snap reads based on the D showing man, but then were confounded when the secondary shifted into zone. There was at least one INT where this occurred, and I remember a 3rd down PBU where the QB threw directly into the heart of the zone. Edit: "there wasn't a massive talent have there..." *Campbell goes 80 yards* "Oh." 🤣🤣🤣
U do know that every 3 to 4 years they lose seniors to graduation or possibly to the NFL draft but in order for the big 10 to be strong the conference as a whole needs to get as many 4 and 5 star recruits it makes a difference
Tbh, a few things. Harbaugh has to learn to change, or he will always be beatable to the system installed at Ohio State. Secondly, the talent gap IS larger than you think. When you have a fast defense running after a WR and not even getting CLOSE to him, along with OL defense of the OSU QB and holes for the RBs, it is a larger gap. On a fairly significant level. So it will continue until those changes occur. Plain and simple.
You have seriously got to stop saying that there isn't a talent gap. I don't think that there was a single group outside of linebackers in which Ohio State wasn't just superior, but vastly superior. Michigan looks slow as fudgepops against the Buckeyes.
You didn't analyze the plays very well. Like on the long passing play towards the end of the first half, you should have did a slow mo relay and explain what happened. And on the blocked punt the same thing. What caused it?
It was all magic and synergy. Numerology used by "J.T." since 2001. Had Tressel not been dislodged as a coach in 2011, Michigan would still not have a victory over OSU since 2003. Tressel still owns the Maize and Blue, because he knew all of my strategems from 1991-2000. The Ohio State fanbase is huge, and literally goes out of its way to have me locked up, every year, for "The Game". There is your conspiracy 9-11-2001.
Michigan has NEVER been an elite football program. Under the fabulous Bo they won ZERO N/C’s in 21years. Bo’s bowl record was 5-12. Most overrated football program of all time.
at 27:02 we get that "we dont give a damn" video. I have been trying to find it since this broadcast came out. Does anyone know where we can find a copy of that?
In tatoo gate, the game was played before that happened. The Buckeyes won 37-7. We lost at Michigan with Luke Fickell as coach. The game in Columbus was wiped out because of tatoo gate.
Willie Vickers he’s talking about the 2011 year when we lost and most of the suspended players left we didn’t have Pryor for the 11 year because he walked
THULL, he had a terrific and complete roster at San Francisco and was favored in every postseason game except the NFC championship game in Seattle. He was 2 - 7 vs Seattle, 0- 3vs his brother, and O-1 vs Oakland. I've been saying for 8 years that he's vastly overrated, so the Michigan people were duped.
NOT the “greatest rivalry in sports”. 🤥 When one side wins 17/18 past matchups, it is not a rivaly at all. Look up the definition of rivalry, for those of you who need a little help. 🙄
Despite all this, as a Buckeye fan, the ‘95 and ‘96 losses STILL hurt like hell. Thought I’d feel better with all the Buckeye success than I do. ‘95 especially is still an absolute mystery to me. Just how the f*** did Tim B. gash our D for 3 hundy?
Not coached well enough, not talented enough, and not good enough. Good teams take adversity and change from it. Ex: UGA vs LSU. “Dominating lesser teams” only reinforced mistakes because you get away with them while winning.
Well guys it goes to recruiting. Brandon was a 3 star recruit covering guys like K.J Hill, Chris Olave. Don't even think he could cover Parris Campbell. That's not all. Karan Higdon who (ahem) at a press conference said he agreed with his coach that they could beat OSU? Another 3 star recruit. And another 12 on that 2018 squad. The Buckeyes wide receivers? Parris-4, K.J-4, Chris Olave-3, Binjimen Victor? 4. Parris was from Akron St.Vincent/St. Mary's. There was another that Meyer was looking at. A 6'6" all-state wide receiver there at Mary's.... LeBron James...Wow....But Jim Tressel got there first......Wow....
Sometimes the ultimate humiliation is a weak expression of pity from your opponent. "It's not you thats preventing us from getting a touchdown, it's us."
@@michaelhaught1192 They won't remember the time we didn't feel like scoring but they'll remember Ohio State going for two because they couldn't go for three.

I honestly have lost count of the number of times I have watched and re-watched this Game. Surely one of the finest wins by OSU in the series History of The Game. Only OSU wins in National Championship Games come close to surpassing the Joy given by this walloping of "that team up north," and I'm not sure even those surpass this. I thank God daily for allowing me to live to see and enjoy this. Go Bucks!
There is a very good chance we beat shit blue's ass even worse this year considering we are playing angry and destroying everybody we play against with no mercy.
Michael McParland michigan and harbaugh are in a weird place of complacency because harbaugh and everyone knows he isn't getting fired. its too bad urban didn't keep the foot on the gas and punched harbaugh in the face, maybe it could wake harbaugh up
@@shawnmyers701 I'm pretty sure that's why right after the TD there was a one second clip of him going "oh". That was part of the video. He knows OSU is way ahead, and said "oh" right after saying no massive talent gap, and OSU scores.
@@mattsierak3057 - You know, I hear lots of people calling for Harbaugh's head, but they can never say who they would replace him with. As an Ohio State fan, the LAST thing I'd like to see is TTUN replacing him. He can compile a great record before he plays us, and then we beat him every single time!
@@mattsierak3057 same. I'm a Michigan fan but I guess I'd say give him 1 more year to see if he'll evolve. If next year goes the same I hope he gets fired but I don't think he will. I think next year Michigan will go 10-2 losing to ND and PSU but beating ohio because you just lost Urban but beyond that I can't say I predict Michigan beating Ohio at all unless Jimmy Evolves.
Michigan simply is not fast enough to compete with the big boys. Next year Wisconsin, Penn State and MSU should all get back on track making Michigan's season a lot tougher.
Michigan is loaded with talent 9 out of 11 starters are back on offense, two new starters are excellent, Ohio state lost few wideouts, offensive linemen, defensive backs, legendary coach urban mejer, etcetc
I was in the south stands. 3 years later, my ears are still ringing from Olave's block and Banks' TD return. That was the moment I finally let myself believe that UM had lost. No wonder Deace hates that quarter. It was the best 3Q in NCAAF history! :D
I don’t know Michigan football well since I am from the South but my perception is that the team could go 1-12 as long as they can beat Ohio State. Can’t beat Ohio State, the season is a fail.
i truly think urban brought an SEC offense to the north. So michigan has trouble with it. over the years, big 10 football meant something because if you played them homefield in the winter it was pounding the ball in the snow...not high flying 70 degree florida weather. OSU is an SEC team in the big ten.....
@@dwayneross5527 Wrong! End of season game between Ohio State & Michigan how many games was it snowing & had to pound the ball in the snow. Most games are played with temperatures in the 30's. Miami Hurricanes would not mind playing in those temperatures. Enough of the weather excuse. Start playing high school spring football as they do in the South and your players will have developed advanced skills.
Also B-10 tradition means less and less as every season passes. Ohio State & Michigan are wealthy teams and should tare down the Shoe & Big House and build domed stadiums. Many B-10 schools such as Northwestern can combine with Chicago Bears and build a domed stadium. Why can't the B-10 with all it's wealth not have every team with a domed stadium? Just think. B-10 championship game can be played alternatively in different cities every season.More Post season bowl games can be played in less desirable locations. Recruiting players from the South will become easier. B-10 is rich and can afford it.

You deserve to be ranked what you're ranked until you play the game. It's wrong to say where a team should be after a game goes bad. UM won 10 games in a row. Should the poll voters have just ignored that?
As a Buckeye fan that I think survived the Cooper years, Doctors won't be honest with me about what 88-00 did to my liver, I can relate to your frustration witnessing the team you love get trucked in The Game. Props for putting together this video. Remember to set your thermostat to 62 degrees FOREVER. Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
Let’s get real here. Buckeye fans love to bring up the Cooper years to make UM fans feel a little better, to give them some hope so this game remains a rivalry game. I grew up in the Cooper years. It’s not even a semi close relation. Smart UM fans know that and blow off “the Cooper years” crap.
@@murray8378 The Beatdowns are sweeter and the dominance feels good. During the Cooper years, too many ttun fans told me: "This game isn't our biggest rivalry." "MSU is our biggest rivalry." "OSU made up this rivalry." "No one from Ann Arbor really cares." The few that I keep in touch with talk differently now. Hopefully the dominance continues.
