@@ClockwerkIndustries Sitting at work and no joke had to pause this for a second to think of what to say if someone were to see me and ask what my problem was.
When I saw Goggins start to tear up, and after holding so much shit in for all my life, especially after an abusive childhood; thinking it was not okay to cry. I started crying after so many years, and finally realized even the toughest and strongest people cry. David Goggins changed my life ever since I found out about him.
She is and it’s great, but I do remember Goggins mentioning somewhere sometime ago that she’s still mentally scarred from the hell her son’s dad put her through. Not surprising given the circumstances, but I do wish and hope one day that she will recover
Read his book and you will have an much greater appreciation for her sacrifice and his love for her. His dad was a evil man who hurt them both greatly, and she protected him.
All armor cracks eventually. He’s the toughest man we all know, he’s inspired others to be great like him, he’s earned his tears 1000x over. You can’t replicate a warrior, you have to become one.
True masculinity doesn't mean not crying in front of others, it's about not being afraid of showing your vulnerable side. David Goggins is a real hero.
To be honest he Is crying of happiness and relief that his hard work payed off, thousands of people watching him while his Mom is crying. Quite the opposite of being soft
No way, you don't do that. You don't take this moment away from him. He doesn't need your sympathy, he is the embodiment of the ultimate warrior. He got here all by himself, so let him enjoy it. Those are not tears of sorrow but of overcoming.
@@Power50505 He was standing there in solidarity with a brother in arms. You try to be there for someone who you think needs it. And I'm pretty sure nobody thought that act took away from his moment.
@@theraskles4400 There is nothing wrong with standing in solidarity with a brother-in-arms. However, what does he need? What makes you think he needs that gesture? Normally people console other people to try to help them relieve the grief or pain they are suffering. If you were truly in tune with David Goggins and his speech you'd pickup on the fact that this moment is one of pure joy, and one of, if not, the greatest moment(s) of his life. Do not misinterpret those tears as grief but as a feeling of fulfillment after years of discipline to reach his highest potential. The correct show of support would have been to respect and congratulate his accomplishments. You don't go rubbing or patting his back as if you're trying to soothe his pain. The man is a warrior so show him the proper form of support.
“I would like to thank my mum up here who….” The man literally didn’t need to say anything else, him breaking down says more than any words ever could ❤ first and only time I’ve ever seen him cry
When he was a kid, his dad beat his entire body so badly that he couldn’t even go to school for days. His mother pulled his blanket off him one night and saw the bruises all over his body, and the look on her face was so horrified that even as a little kid, David knew how bad things were. In that moment of silence, he was remembering the look on his mother’s face, which he’ll never forget.
I'm reading it right now. I had huge admiration for him already, but I also had no idea the sheer amount of pain and abuse he overcame in his childhood. I gained an entirely new level of respect. His mother is a rock.
Nitant Patel mine too, for the better, after seeing how Fuckin hard this dude pushes himself it really made me changed the way I look at my workouts, goin way harder now
I FEEL YA ON THIS ONE! I tell people that if he can do what he does...then I can after working a 12 hour day, come home and work out for an hour. There are no excuses for not working out! Period!
@@marvlsp71 I do that all the time, there are a lot of days all I have time for is work and the gym, than come home shower eat, maybe watch a hour of TV, wake up do it all over
David Goggins has helped me become a better person as a kid who never had a dad growing up, being 400 pounds at the age of 16 and living in poverty. I found out about this guy on instagram and when I started listening to him more I found out about his book and I was so inspired by him and what he has done. I decided to lose the weight and change my life and get things right, I lost 254 pounds in 10 months and I ran my first mile today and I have never cried so hard in my life, but I’m not finished. Thank You David Goggins! Stay Hard!
Same here, didn't happen very often to me though. He is a true role model when it comes to motivation and dedication which is missing in our generation a lot. And by my generation I'm also talking about myself. Thanks brother for being a true inspiration!
What's crazy is that he is human. Human, all too human. He probably just found something within him that reminds him of what he needs and wants, and he gets at it like his existence depended on it. A hard human to be sure though.
@@daedra40 Well he started tearing up when he mentioned his mom. On the Joe Rogan podcast he mentioned how his father was abusive to him and his mother. So that might have had something to do with it. At one point his father knocked his mother out and drug her down the steps by her hair.
Goggins saved me from depression. I was in a very dark place and God put him in my way for me to get inspired. All I have to say is thank you, Goggins.
I recently bought David Goggins book. Couldn’t put it down. Got up and downloaded navy seal training sheet. Running, PT, and water work. Told a friend what I was doing, they asked why? I said because I want to be pushed beyond my limits, into hell. My friend said, hell? Why? I said... to get beyond it. Thanks Goggins. Respect ✊🏻
He got bullied his whole childhood for being black and every day was a living hell. Still went out and did the impossible against all odds. Risked his life for his country without even once blaming it as being racist or unfair to him. Even if I'm not American, I can't describe how much respect I have for this man and will continue to look up to him as a source of inspiration throughout my entire life.
Whose here while reading "Never Finished"? Its through watching this man, that I've really learnt the meaning of the word respect. Respect is when you see somebody do something and go "I couldn't do that" There's something that you really want, that you want just as much as anybody else could. And you see this one man working toward that with a passion, a drive, a dedication, that you can't even imagine to have. You say, "I want to succeed, I really do... but I couldn't do what you do." You can't help but, from the bottom of your heart, respect that man.
Yup. Just started reading. Ran 9 miles today and did a couple hundred push ups and pull ups. Normal day since I read Can’t Hurt Me. Man is changing lives.
The second he mentioned his Mom, it's like his whole life flashed before his eyes... so many pure, raw emotions flooded out. So much respect for this guy.
*I thank my mom up here who......* pause and tears *who never picked me up... who never picked me up when I fell* *She taught me how to get up when I was knocked down* I wonder how/why this tough-as-nail/woodpecker lip warrior shed tears. What went through the warrior's mind? He had mentioned his mom in various interviews and never seemed to be bothered with how things were. They just were. That's it. Roger that and drive on. After seeing literary every interview, and be inspired by this man since 2008, I can only guess. Perhaps David himself was caught in surprise. Could it be... as he thanked her, he saw glimpses in his mind: - When his mom mustered the courage to leave his abusive dad and took him with her - When his mom took multiple jobs to make ends meet.....leaving him in the process to fend himself against the bullies and the kkk - When his mom collected enough money to pay for a tutor so he could finally pass asvab after failing twice - When he went to her in tears after failing to gut out the first attempt to run to lose weight to meet requirement for SEAL training He saw that in her failing to protect and help him as most mothers would be expected to.... she allowed the weak, fearful, insecure david goggins to become THE David Goggins. To thank your mother not only for all she had done, but also for all she failed to do... *That.* *Takes.* *A.* *Big.* *HEART.* Not only man of grit and guts, but man of big heart. Our hearts broke when his ruff and gruff voice broke. The room got a bit dusty too All my discouragements seem nonsensical. I, who got 98 in asvab afqt, scored 69 in Navy OAR, among the highest at the recruiting station, yet do not have 1/8th of this man's heart and too often whine and complain like a little b****. Cleaned, swept, and mopped my apartment after this vid, ran 4 miles, then swam with bound hands and feet the next morning. I was that much empowered. David Goggins, thank you is all I can say. Hope to shake your hand and say that in person one day. Damn Few.
kramotakra just read his book and while those are great guesses and definitely meaningful moments, he said what made him choke up was a memory of him being beat to hell by his dad then seeing the face of his mom as she looked at his beaten body and knowing what she endured just by seeing her son like that and being so helpless.
Doing 4000 pull ups in 24 hours easy, doing 100 miles in less than 24 hours easy, mentioning mum hard 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I cried with you, you are a true motivation!!!!!! Because of you I realise that I can do much more than I thought I could!!!!! I lost 20 pounds and planning on getting a degree! Thank you!
I’m watching this after finishing chapter 1 of Never Finished. I gotta say, seeing the baddest man on the planet break down in tears really hits you. So much respect for this man.
unbelievable. his interview on joe rogan's podcast he says at the moment he broke down thanking his mother he had a flash back of her face when she pulled back the covers to see how bad he had been beaten by his father when he was a child. just an unbelievably incredible man. so inspirational
I am 75% on his book "Can't Hurt Me"... I can't stop listening. Amazing human, really shows the potential we all hold within. He deserves this and more.
not true, many people are terrified of his message, i present his message to people they usually say hes crazy because they dont want to confront there inner bitch
Im working on it....i wish i didnt wait till i was 38 yr old and 80 lbs overweieght....but this man makes me think...why not me? I can do this. I will do this.
Goggins is that guy but the dude who said “I’ll stand with you” when all of his life’s emotions and pain were coming out is the guy I want to be as well. True brotherhood right there.
Y'all need to hear the audiobook to learn why this unbreakable man broke down at 3:50, referring to his mother. He talks about this exact moment. The pure torture he and his mother endured growing up.... You'll understand the magnitude this means for him.
What I love about Goggins, you don't have to be gifted with a 40 inch vertical, run a 4.4. in the forty or bench 500 lbs. Desire, determination, guts, willpower and work ethic will carry you to the pinnacle of just about every occupation on the planet. There is a Goggins inside us all.
I first heard of Goggins 8 years ago. I’ve had an opportunity to see him speak, meet him and i have have listen to countless interviews. He’s the real deal, every morning, if I’m sick, injured, lazy, I get up and get at it because I know somewhere he is doing the same. God bless you David Goggins for giving us inspiration. Everyone please buy and support his new book/autobiography “Can’t Hurt Me”. This should be required reading.
“It’s so easy to great nowadays because everyone else is weak.” - Goggins This man truly handed opened my mind up which changed my life. I have the utmost respect not just for him but his comrades, and anyone who serves, in any branch. When you think you’re tired you’re only 40% in to your capability. I went from a 218 pound addict drug dealer to an 178 pound amateur boxer in the span of 8 months. Dogs never full. Professional is my next goal. “Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done.” - Goggins ( a personal quote I wrote ) “ Don’t become the ghost of who you weren’t and who you could’ve been. “
He cried because of some flashbacks going through his mind I think. The whole journey should've went through his eyes during the honour. He is very much pure and soulful. Man of steel David Goggins🏅
@@williamclay1792 So with all due respect, I believe Mr.Kumar is possibly of another language and was using HIS best sentence structure to convey to RU-vid land what he best believed was the reason Mr. Goggins was so emotional. I gathered no ill will from his first two sentences, and his last two sentences proves the fact that he is being very respectful and kind in his praise. Just my .35 worth of wisdom on this fine day. Blessings and Respect to you AEM!
This gentleman should be speaking at schools. There's a lot of young men out there who need to be motivated. Possibly young men without fathers in their lives. He's one of those guys that won't quit on himself or his fellow brothers around him. God bless you sir. Thank you for your service. And God bless your mother
In his audiobook he told that thanking his mom brought back memories of his youth and what he and her had to go through. That’s why he got choked up in essence.
The fact that he is one of the toughest people I know. A very strong person mentally. But is not afraid to cry front of a crowd of people. This is a real man this is what a real man looks like.
David Goggins is one of my favorite people ever!!! Having learned about him changed my life for the better, seeing how hard this guy goes changed my outlook on exercise, realise now I could be going way harder
David congratulations we all are so proud of you... I'm so glad in Buds we crossed paths I will never forget when you in front of all the instructors you grabbed me and pushed me to get over the cargo net... A fear I got from a parachute accident. You and I mean this are a great man period! I called the tow truck to unlock your car during buds.... You were a great impact on my life. Glen Liver@$#%&
"The reward is wrong. This man deserves a human progression reward. I used to be extremely obese and lived a difficult life for over 28 years. Then, I started to think about what it means to live a healthy life. I met this guy and found his perspectives on life while searching for inspirational speeches. I realized that the world is amazing, and you may find a similar story to your own. I felt less alone and it encouraged me to keep going. I may not be as powerful and strong as David, but his mind really helps, especially during times when my life was overwhelming with stress."
There's a lot to be proud of in David's life but I've never got the sense he has been proud of what he has done. Watching this I can tell this is one of the proudest most meaningful moments of his life. Congratulations! You changed my life and countless others
You haven't watched or heard him enough then. He's expressed pride in himself many times. Watch more of his videos on here and you'll be so happy you did.
fullmetalfred Yet he still doesn't feel like he's done enough. He has the right mindset, but he still has a lot to do in his own mind. I like that idea of not stopping pursuing goals. Because reaching a long-term goal and retiring or not doing anything in life is really just quitting.
I’ve watched a good amount of his videos too and even though he has always been proud of how far he has come, I have never seen him so proud of accomplishing something either. His mindset just always makes him want more and harder stuff so I’m sure it’s hard for a man like that to be proud of himself. Utmost respect for David Goggins, a true American Hero.
I'm an Army Infantry Veteran and I've really struggled with just about every aspect of my life since I got out in 2006. The book that Goggins put out is the very first thing that's given me some hope that I can make something of myself. I wish I could meet this man to tell him, in person, how much he means to me. I absolutely love this guy and I really feel like he's saved my life.
NEXT SPRING?!! I never read books.. but been dying to get to read his own writings. I know he must have left something out from all the interviews that will be in the book. Can't wait!

David Goggins changed my life too. Seeing him emotional has got to be one of my favorite Goggins moments. The strength of vulnerability is just another one he can to his amazing list of human frailties that he has conquered.
This broke me man..Watching this is like watching Superman cry. We love you David, thank you for inspiring us all and allowing us to dig deep to find out what we really are capable of!
I have met some top celebrities in my line of work and none of them impress me as much as this man. He is the truth. I would want his autograph over any of the celebrities I have met. I have only 2 friends that I trust with my life......he would make 3.
Absolute legends this man is and those all within the room, nothing but respect, admiration, and appreciation for all of them. David Goggins and those like his nature have shown us time and time again what it takes to reach success. The moment you start to not be afraid to stand up and make the tough decisions in life that's what gets you ahead, listen to his gut, and doesn't care about the negative opinions of others. If you are reading this then know that every human on this planet (including you) has the choice to become great and do good in this world on their own terms. You reading this right now are an amazing gift to this world and I believe in you. Thanks again David Goggins, your impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.
Legend in my book, people like to throw around musicians names and actors names for the “legendary” status but this in my opinion is a true legend and a genuine grafter. Keep at it Goggins - ‘stay hard’
To see David goggins cry like this is insane. You gotta imagine the amount of anger, stress, sadness, guilt, every emotion possible that he must have built up over the years being as strong as he is. This man is truly inspirational
“ I use to look for courage, courage is a man that’s willing to put boots on every single day of their life, to go out there and fight for this country, where nobody knows what the hell their doing or where the here their at” - David Goggins
Wow I can’t believe it this whole time I didn’t think David was a human. Never thought I could love a man so much you truly are an inspiration and thank you for all the great lessons you’ve taught us
Even the great David Goggins has to take a moment of pause for his emotions. He's just so incredible, AND relatable. His existence is proof of the existence of willpower.
He’s my inspiration every day, loved his strength and willingness to do anything he wants. I definitely need a David Goggins in my life to push me to my limits. Thanks David!!
Watching in 2020 and this still brings tears to my eyes!! What an amazing picture of human strength, respect & humility! The love and gratitude he shows for his mother and her struggles is priceless!! I know she's very proud of her son!😊😊💗💗
I had to come to this after reading his second book 'Never Finished'. David Goggins is such an inspiration & influence to me. I'll always thank him for the lessons he's given, that will live on through me & my actions.
