2018 VW GTI (MK7.5) - We Installed MASSIVE Brakes 

I thought I recognized this dude on Donut Media videos! It was from the ECS vids that I was before lol

Big VW Fan. I've owned them since I was 16 from Bugs, to Buses, Ghia's to Cabriolets and most recently a Beetle ('06) and a EOS ('09). There is something about German engineering that puts a smile on your face. Still currently running a German fleet with 2 VW's and 2 Mercedes Benz vehicles, but this GTI is wicked! can't wait to win it, or see it when its finished. Perfect So Cal GTI!

Rotors do warp, it is not pad deposition. It is more common on cars with automatic transmissions and happens when you have to slam on breaks really hard and come to a full stop and stand still for a while. In that case the break pads work as heat insulators. The heat built up on the rotor cannot escape and the differential cooling of the rotor warps it.

I'd like the back end a touch higher. Those wheels do look really good

Just can't help thinking the rear ride height is too low, looks like there's something really heavy in the trunk. I'd probably raise it a half inch to give the car a more even stance.

6 piston brakes are overkill for this car. It's too small to need brakes this big and a lot more unsprung weight when a 4 piston caliper would've done just fine.

Should brakes be bedded on a brand new car too? I never hear anyone recommend doing that with new cars.

Wow, what a difference those wheels made. The new ones that come on the mk7.5 are so ugly anything would be better but these really look nice. Sweet brakes too.

Perhaps I missed it, it would be helpful to show modifying the dust shields.

Hey .... Quick product question .... Have you fixed the issue with the short hoses on the TSI gen 1 PCV solution .... I was gonna buy it but then I read reviews stating the hoses we're to short and that if I were to purchase the kit I pretty much would be on my own for finding out how to make the hoses longer .... I ended up purchasing a competitors product so that I didn't have to deal with an incomplete kit .... Btw, this is not the first time an ECS product has been to short .... My ECS brake lines on the front were to short and I ended up having to change them for nuespeed items of the correct length at my expense .... Not cheap .... I wish you would at least listen to customers about issues even if you didn't reimburse them .... Like call the kits or versions V2 or similar to signify an update to the design

mm... quite strange, the surface of contact of the pad on the rotor seems exactly the same, I guess that the pad will be bigger but the contact surface seems the same.

Great video! I have a question, I'm owner of a 2015 VW Sportwagen TDi SE, and wonder if those brakes may fit? It has original 17" wheels.

How did you solve the problem with an ABS pump, to knowing that your car have six piston calipers instead of single piston caliper ?

What’s the weight of old and new breaks? How many pistons have the original one? New wheels are lighter then the original?

This car don’t need brakes like this, don’t matter how fast it goes, My c36 amg don’t even need that.

Truly a waste of money on a 3000lb car that already has a great stock brake system. I know of several heavy +4500lb SUVs and minivans that need this brake kit more. And reality check, this kit will set you back +$4000 😎
