On my bucket list of sports games I want to attend is a Apple Cup in Pullman. Everytime I've seen a game on tv it always looks memorable and the weather plays a narrative in it.
Dawg fan here that cheers for the in-state rival Cougs except when in the Apple Cup. It seems this concept is not common with Coug fans.. probably because Huskies have manhandled and embarrassed Cougs too many times. This game the Dawgs were underdogs and Cougs were red hot. Prior to the game Lots of Coug ranting about the overrated Huskies. it’s so sweet to come in to Martin stadium and cause another disappointing outcome to the Coug fans.
I think you guys were considered ‘overrated’ by some people because they would see the 3 losses and comment that. The fact is that all those losses were 1 possession games. The Huskies could easily be an undefeated and same thing with the Cougs. I felt that this was going to be a monster game. In the end, the Huskies (cough Gaskin cough) were better built for the snow and were just the better team for it. Looking forward to this coming season seeing how both teams do!
Something was never quite right with the 2018 Huskies. Had the personnel but never dominated anyone significant (possible exception BYU). Going into the game the Cougars were definitely the favorite as they had been a scoring machine. The Huskies strength was not allowing any big plays - Cougars lots of check down passes for short gains and but could not break one loose in this game. Fun to watch a snow game but wonder how the outcome might have been different in a dry game.
I am a Husky fan and always wished the what Huskies did a lot of the things the Cougs did on the field defensively and offensively like when against Oregon.
