I DO NOT recommend anyone driving through water of any kind. This video doesn’t show the precautions I took to cross these rivers. It also doesn’t show the 10-15 minutes of talking with the county workers while they were insisting it was safe and how many times I crept over this bridge feeling for washed out sections and seeing how high the water would go on my jeep. I would not have crossed if the water started pushing on the side of the jeep. I appreciate everyone that took the time to watch my video and leave respectful comments. Name calling and assuming just makes you look stupid. Remember videos are typically edited and You weren’t there!

Your engine could've stalled out had your exhaust pipe been submerged underwater. And your life could've ended there IF your Jeep was swept away😮😢. Do it the right way. Know the depth of the water crossing first, had only there been a water depth gauge. And drive it through slowly at a steady pace in low gear with high RPM.
The video is absolutely great. I have a SUV and I would like to make this kind of videos. I am sure there is always danger associated to this but it is possible to do it carefully, measuring all the risks.

Seeing videos like this make me have second thoughts on getting a truck.. but then I remember I live in Illinois and the most extreme weather we get is snow.
Note to all, never drive through moving flood waters regardless of the vehicle. These waters are usually stronger than you think and the once familiar roads can have deep pot holes that weren't there before. Driving on flooded roads was the main cause of death in the Carolinas last hurricane. Be smart and don't risk it.
Thanks for sharing - I think on the dry bridges when it has flooded get over them but do not stop on them. I have seen houses and barns washed down stream and into a bridge . Being on a bridge when something other than water comes down stream could be bad. So cross the bridge and get on down the road. If you want to look . look before crossing .
What about a bridge on a river? Cause that's how a family died here in Houston during Harvey the mobile homes next to it were even pushed towards the river that's how strong the current was
Okay, 2nd dumbest place to be during a flood is on a bridge. Especially the one during the 4 minute mark. That kind of water flow is the kind that washes a bridge away.
Nice camera action. I have a Jeep TJ and a Hummer H2. I would probably feel more comfy in the Hummer cause the TJ is light as hell and regardless of its 4WD action-The water would just sweep her away. Kudos for using your Jeep more than the mall like most people do. Be safe and if I were in you in the same situation...i'd probably do the same..lol. Now...get that mud afterwards!
Awsome. I love tropical places they are the most beautiful places in amarica to me. Like no other place in the US. Flooding people losing homes. That's so devastating.
you have to be careful about being on bridges like that with rushing water flowing under them. it can easily wash out and be swept away with no warning if the supports for the bridge collapse from the water pressure.

Yes I’ve owned 3 in my life time now I own my dream one 4 door Jeep guys to be completely honest those fuckers at Jeep owe me royalties I came up with a 4 door Jeep way before they did I swear to you guys I did I even have a blueprint of in on auto cad on a broken laptop I’ve never thrown away 😂 I’ve an 87 Jeep when it was owned by amc first year with the square headlights silver with a black hard top 4.0 high output engine the a white 91 renegade special edition I cried when I sold her should’ve sold my now x wife instead 😂 now I own a 2015 jk I love that vehicle I feel so happy driving it

I think it was the year of 1978 a big flood hit Rochester Minnesota. South of town near what is now the old location of the Fleet Farm a man and his wife were heading home. He went first in his vehicle and she followed in her vehicle on a frontage road west of the highway. He crossed a short bridge and the bridge failed just as his wife drove onto it. Swept away. I don’t think her car or body was ever found. Water is much much more dense than air. A cubic foot contains about 7.5 gallons of water. Each gallon weighs 8 pounds. So just one cubic foot of water is about 60 pounds. Then say it’s traveling 30 miles per hour. That’s a lot of force. A person swept away in flood water likely dies fast and then the rocks, trees and debris shred the body up into small pieces. Don’t cross water you can’t see through.

Are those stock wheels for the rubicon? Also have you had any any wheel wobble in the steering wheel with your 2018 wrangler as many have complained about having? Also do you have any complaints about the 2018 edition?
Great questions! No, these are 35” tires. I have not had any steering wobble or any other issues with my JLU. In fact the only complaint I have with the jeep at all is the stop start function and that was fixed with the Tazer JL which I highly recommend! Thanks for watching!
I hope that little dog walking across the bridge was safe.. I would’ve picked him up and kept him in the Jeep til the owners were found. Id be absolutely devastated if I was separated from my pup during something like this
EVEN had you stopped at that water crossing. Never let your foot off the accelerator paddle. Your engine could've stalled out when idling if your exhaust was submerged. Meaning hold your brake and accelerator paddle if you want to stop. Or put it in neutral.
I own 6 jeeps and have driven in water as deep as 4ft. I’ve also driven in water that was rushing faster than I should’ve been in, but in every case the way it would’ve swept my vehicle was not life threatening. I’ve personally seen pickups and cars swept by 8” of water that I had crossed. Even with all the water crossing I’ve done, I’m glad you made it through fine, but look up videos, I would not recommend trying your luck again.
I understand what you and everyone else is saying but what the video didn’t show was the 10-15 minutes talking with the county workers about if it was safe or not, creeping and crawling back and forth testing the depth and feeling for washed out areas and making absolutely sure it was safe. I am not going to risk my beloved jeep or myself in something unless I know its safe!
See what I don’t like is, everyone traveling to see the flood, notices flooded homes, don’t offer to help them. I’m glad someone had the decency to help.
11:12 Those are hundreds of tons of water pushing sideways against an structure designed to support tons DOWNWARDS. A bridge can fail with that side-load and a lot of bridges have failed. Also, You and the people were lucky because waves like 8:34 (but caused by repressed water) can happen any time in seconds and sweep away anything on the bridge. In Colombia there are too many fatal victims of floods like this every year. Be more carefull, please.
Thats a general term… The water wasn’t too fast and it wasn’t pushing against the side of the jeep. It had plenty of room to go under and around the tires. Thats why I was going so slow. Thanks for watching and caring!
Shame that trailers and those vehicles were not driven up the hill. When a bridge is getting hit with flood water that hard you need to get off the bridge what big heavy object just got pushed into the bottom of the bridge ? You wont know until the bridge starts to collapse.
Nah, Firecracker red. The GoPro sometimes makes it look orange in certain light. Actually I had the first JL in Hawaii but now there are a few. Theres even rentals on island now

Not hating but a Land Cruiser 80 series is a very capable vehicle that can rival the Jeep easily. I owned 3 of them but sold them cause there are no more parts..so Jeep eventually won. My Jeep IS the most dependable vehicle I own though..
tangled Line I’ve heard this before the only problem with the land cruiser was it was a heavy heavy girl but you must admit it never beat the Jeep there really is no competition for the Jeep in its class
LOl I can only admit what I experienced owning both-Now mind you I do NOT own the 4 door...the power plant and wheel base was a turn off (as with the electronics). I own a 2002 Jeep TJ which could NOT pull my Land Cruiser out of mud but a Land Cruiser can pull the Jeep-especially with front, mid and rear factory lockers that were equipped in the 90s! Jeep BARELY threw in lockers in the 2000's. Anyhow...another thing...the driver makes a big difference in wheeling. You can Pepboys a Jeep all you want but is pointless if you do not know how to 4 wheel. You can youtube Jeep vs Land Cruiser all day and find mixed winners but at the end of the day-its personal choice. I chose my Jeep over my Land Cruiser merely based on parts availability and price. Oh one more thing..you dont have to do much to a Land Cruiser...just add bigger tires...but a Jeep..you have to lift, lock, reinforce..etc etc...because I have done it.

That bridge was a risky spot even if its a concrete one. I can't help to wonder why they didn't try to save the cars, they had time for that especially the f150.

I would not have trusted the bridge but you could have crossed the water when you wanted to pick up the people on the other side. Jeeps are bad ass! You could have easily crossed.

The people who live in that house make me very angry. They clearly did nothing to prepare for this flood and even after the water started rising, they did nothing. They could have easily moved their vehicles and trailer to higher ground, but instead, they left them on low ground to be swept away by the water. Now they’re a hazard to everyone and will severely pollute the environment.
dunno why the people in the house with the vehicles that looked fine did not move them 50 feet up that road to save them or at least one of them....i dunno...
