Great video, technically this is not a drawbridge in the true sense it is a vertical lift bridge. A drawbridge lifts up at a hinged angle like on a castle or Tower Bridge in London (Bascule Bridge).
Nice that's one way to let a boat with a tall roof go through without damage then the bridge goes back into place so vehicles and people can go about there day.
Having the gates be EXACTLY half as long as the road and then installing a mechanism on the ends to lock them together is one of the most GENIUS things I’ve ever seen! I’ve also never seen a hydraulic lift bridge before, so that’s pretty neat as well!
anytime a boat with a tall mast wants to pass. I live in Milwaukee and worked in the blue building (now called the Chase bank Plaza) Was called the Marine Bank Plaza in the 70's.
