20189 + 20142 double head a service from Grosmont to Pickering. Starting from Grosmont locomotive depot, the gradient climbs a sharp 1 in 49 all the way upto Goathland, which ensures a solid workout for the Class 20s - 10 minutes of full power. After Goathland the gradient climbs again to the summit at around 1 in 100-178, where power is shut off. The remainder of the line is downhill from here.
