You prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the login password. I would love any tips you can give me!
As a Lexus man....this RDX is impressive. The screen software is better than the Lexus IMO - It also has apple car play which the RX/NX don't have (yet). I still prefer the interior of the Lexus overall. The Acura emblem on the grill could be a bit bigger (joking). Paint is a nice upgrade, but still not Lexus quality. I prefer the NX exterior styling, although I wouldn't try to change your mind if you prefer the RDX. In a couple years, I can't wait to see Lexus respond to this A+ effort from Acura...welcome back!
I have owned one now for just over a year and was thinking the same… now, this car is unrefined, jerky ride and honestly one of the worst cars I have ever owned… my first and last Acura!
@Apex Lavish , not really, just my realistic observation having observed this car during my year long ownership so far, i have owned many cars up to this point and this one is just one of the worst, simple!
Really like this new RDX and will probably purchase one in due time. Mostly want to comment on the review/reviewer here: this outfit does a fantastic job of it. Spontaneous, unscripted rapidfire delivery. Not slick with high (cost) production values. Gives you a chance to enjoy the test in the same first-timer manner. Well done, Redline Reviews.
Sofyan, you definitely came through! You must’ve been super excited about this review if you posted it at 12 AM. Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work. Keep it up!
Good job to Acura. Finally a reason to look at this brand rather than just buying a fully loaded honda. It is really well designed and lots of effort was made. This still is cheaper than it's competition as well. I don't like crossovers and SUVs though but I'm excited to see this design trickle down into the sedans like the TLX and ILX.
Just got mine! She goes! Acts like a sports car in Sport + mode! Didn’t take too long to figure out the infotainment system. Mine is Advance package with SH-and. Performance Red Pearl is gorgeous! Loving it already. I think I will be very happy long term.
@@bobnordlie8302 Try the PDK transmission, the best power train for any SUV. Opps that is Porsche #2 in reliability. A real sports SUV with actual luxury. Even the Quadrfoglio(Ferrari designed Chassis and Engine) is second behind Porsche in terms of handling and performance for SUV. See from where I stand if I buy an SUV for $48,000 I don't expect one to handle like a Alfa or Porsche. I'd rather that money go to Ride comfort, interior(You hear 2019 ACURA, why did you use a silly and cheap Korean looking dash/console) features and reliability. If I want something sportier then I buy a real sport SUV, hence Porsche, M5, M3(money pit but good for lease), and QUADROFOGLIO. Not interested in a tacked on half ass effort with a crappy inline 4.
Such a nice re-design. Only a couple of gripes: 1) no lock button on the tail gate 2) can’t lock the doors if another door is open (bmw can, and will beep when all does closed) 3)unsure if new model has power fold mirrors (my 17 Canada elite has power fold) 4) no remote start from key? My 17 has this. 5) no led rear signals Finally has some features from the 15 TLX I had is finally in the RDX. Glad to see the 2009 steering wheel is gone lol! Hmm what to do what to doooooo.
No rear seat slider or back seat recline or tri-zone climate like my Buick Envision 2.0T. Which for 2019 get a 295 lb-ft of torque or more than the RDX.
1) there is a lock button on the tailgate. It's still to the right of the tailgate button 2) hmmm this is true 3) the new models (at least here in the USA) do not have power folding mirrors :( 4) I, too, was shocked that (at least) the Advance model doesn't have remote start on the key. Not everyone wants to add an app just for that. 5) I was a little bummed about the signals being an incandescent bulb. At least the actual brake lights are LED. Another thing I noticed is that the camera on the Base/Tech/ASPEC model RDX is muuucccch better than the one on the Advance model. I'm not sure what the issue is but on the Tech model, the camera looks HD and on the right side of the screen, it shows the parking sensors. I hate how on the Advance model, they crammed the rear & top down view on the left side of the screen and added a camera icon on the right side. That's wasted space to me...but I digress. Just to add some sort of validity to this, I'm a Acura product specialist and we got our first batch of RDX's yesterday. Sorry for the lengthy reply but I hope this answers your concerns/gripes!
@@josefgriveas7113 Acura is calling it an all-new, exclusive platform-but the RDX started with the Honda CR-V architecture and modified the chassis and upgraded the powertrain. Motor Trend
Acura did a great job with this new rdx. Glad to see they are moving back on track with their precision crafted performance roots. Looking forward to the new tlx and mdx.
Thanks Sofyan another great review, and it looks like a home run from Acura, hearing you laugh and cuss in delight is always a good sign that you’re having fun driving. And saying that it feels like a tall sports sedan, oh ya! It makes me eager for the next gen TLX which I HOPE and PRAY will be a 5 door. Things are looking GOOD at Acura.
I knew it had to be something special to get an alert at 12am for your review. You didn’t disappoint, Sofyan. Great review!!! This RDX is hella handsome, especially in A-Spec. It’s nice to see this resurgence from Acura (and about damn time). The RDX actually looks emotive; which is something that has been missing from the Acura lineup for over a decade. Love the interior and the overall exterior look. Hate the rear turn signal incandescent bulb, quality of the rear camera and that knob in the center dash for the drive modes. Small gripes. Well done.
Looks like they addressed everything that was needed on the RDX. great review as always Sofyan! Now if only they put this 2.0T 10 speed updated sh-awd and infotainment in the TLX that would be the AWD Accord I've always wanted..
One thing you didn't mention that I really liked was this groove on the backside of the steering wheel. Most people may not care, but I really loved that for some reason. It was really comfortable and my hand would naturally fit in that. Love your reviews btw.
valkyrie05 I don’t know about Acura reliability, but my 2011 BMW X3 was the most unreliable car I had.I had to change the gearbox and suspension and other things which costed me over $10000 from the time I bought it new.Are u deaf?he said this is an all wheel drive car.
HONDA RULES this is nowhere close to a X3. This still looks like a Honda. It’s has the same straight lines as a Honda, similar profile to a CR-V, same idea with those C shaped tail lights as Honda, ugly wheels for a “luxury” vehicle. It’s not elegant as a luxury car design should be. It could easily be mistaken for a new Honda. I’m not impressed.
valkyrie05 it’s not really a good trade off.I’ve got a Lexus is250 and I never spent even 1 dollar on it from the time I traded my X3 for the Lexus. Its comfortable, luxurious and very stylish.I also raced with my friend who has a 328i and I got very close results. I got luxury, comfort and style in one car and I think it’s a good decision .The X3 didn’t even have heated seats and they were not as comfortable as the Lexus seats which means that I was only paying for the badge
By far the best car reviewer of any channel on TV or Online. I get all the info I want with no annoying habits. You also speak quickly enough where I stay interested. I almost feel like I can spend less time in dealerships if I watch your reviews first. Keep up the great work.
I really wish it had reclining rear seats, thats the one feature that makes it less capable as a road trip vehicle. Besides that, I owned a first gen rdx turbo, and im happy to say that this is the first rdx since the original that has made me want another one. Well done Acura
I surely agree. What a Marvelous Review and Host! Congratulations on both. Yes, the A-Spec Acura looks spectacular in all regards. USNews.com has said it has the nicest cabin in its class.
Rithik Patel yea. honda could compete with all the m's and amg's and they have the racing pedigree. would be nice to see more aggressive japanese style sports cars/vehicles.
Loving this new RDX. Acura is back. Can’t wait for Type S trims to come back. Hate your use of the word “cheap” though. Has such a negative connotation to it. I’d prefer you said “not high quality” or “doesn’t feel premium”. Cars with starting prices of $40,000 aren’t cheap lol.
The infotainment system is REALLY good. It has one of the smoothest UIs I have seen. That being said...I wish Acura had some kind of a fully digital instrument panel option like Audi or Mercedes...BUT I still am proud of Acura for putting out one of the best systems out there.
I just purchased a 2015 Acura RDX. Love it but.... I should of waited for this 2019 model. Such great improvements over the previous generation model! Thanks for the great review Sofyan!
Oooooooh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy goooooodness!!!! Acura is back!!!! Thanks for your great review as usual!!! And even more than your usual review I appreciate you guys dropping in those clips of this RDX getting flogged out in the dirt and gravel!!! Disappointed that they don't have a wireless charger, rear seat recline/slide and full LED rear indicators, but glad they packacked everything quite well. That underfloor storage in the rear is gonna be great, a real deal spare tire instead of an inflator kit is absolutely great and THANK YOU ACURA FOR GIVING US REAL DEAL EXHAUST PIPES INSTEAD OF FAKE TIPS LIKE THE GERMANS!!! So again, great review Redline!!! Keep up the great work!!!
@ qball2000able ODD, Porsche is rated #2 in reliability while, ACURA is at #14. Yet you claim German's can't come close. Ahh heck with facts let's just go by our imagination. Speaking of reliability, did Honda?Acura ever figure out how to make a reliable automatic transmission yet? Yet there is Porsche with there Dual clutch PDK transmission which any car person will admit is probably the most well designed and refined automatic trans every made. Those German are clueless.
I can't tell if its me or the car actually making the noise... But this is the BEST sounding 4 cylinder I've ever heard, I need to test drive one in person to confirm that. lol
Finally, Acura has taken a step forward. For years it seemed like they were only stepping sideways while the competition blew past them. The interior design makes much more sense here in the less expensive RDX than it does in the NSX which costs more than 3 times as much as a fully spec’d out RDX. I feel like they finally fired whoever was designing the cars previously, and put a team that’s actually passionate with knowledge of Acura’s past. My favorite little touch on the interior are the gauges. The gauge font and style is identical to the gauges on the 02-04 Acura RSX from what I can tell. Now Acura just needs to bring back the integra/RSX.
The lines between Honda and Acura should be a little more clear. The back looks like they took it straight off of an accord even the halogen turn signal is the same. A luxury suv in 2018 should have full leds and power everything at this price point. Especially when cheaper brands offer it standard.
Wow, what spectacular mountain ranges, fantastic and breathtaking scenes for some gorgeous SUV's, Thanks for the incredibly detailed review. Coming from a Canuck from winnipeg Manitoba. ✌️
I hope you come out with a video about 2019 Inifiniti QX50 soon! I've been going back and forth between the RDX and the QX50. I'm leaning towards the RDX with the drive, but there are some quirks here and there that I don't like that QX50 covers. I want to see what you think!
I was shopping this car and the Honda Passport. You made a comment on the Passport review that it felt like driving a minivan compared to your remarks here about the RDX at 26:05. Guess which car I bought. Keep up the great work on reviews!
Sounds like the Advance Package is the way to go. Foot activated tailgate, and front dampers to make it a more comfortable ride experience. However, I love the Look of the A-Spec in blue, love the look of the 20 inch wheels but, the 19's with more rubber are better for everyday use i.e. curb rash. And, I wish the engine had a little more power like 305+ horsepower would have been nice.
Alvin Gayo i’d be willing to bet it will happen in the next few years. Look at how many new sub compact suvs are being released, more luxury brands will likely follow in the footsteps of audi q3, mb gla, etc
Drove one today and even though I have no interest in an SUV, it's a nice drive. Seats are very comfortable, the tech is very logical and easy to use. The touch pad is very intuitive and works well. Acceleration is great, relatively agile, though you never forget your are in a crossover/SUV. I just wish Acura treated the TLX with this much thought and effort.
Great review as usual. I think not giving the consumer the choice of a six cylinder is going to hurt them but of course if you're loyal you'll look beyond it but for me the 6 is a must.
I've been really looking forward to this review. Great job, really thorough! Definitely going to look into getting the A-spec trim. It has the perfect features I need and the price isn't too bad.
Amazing Car! I think acura needs to add a subcompact suv like the Chinese CDX and scrap the rlx and make the tlx like a 5 series e class competitor and make the ilx a 3 series competitor. Maybe even like reviving the LEGEND AS A TIER 1 LUXURY SEDAN? Being the owner of an 07 Tl this made me so excited for the brand again!
Carboy 13 all Acura needs to do when they update their entire lineup and brought them up to the same level as this RDX is to rename their sedans back to what they were before ILX -> Integra TLX -> Vigor RLX -> Legend and also make SH-AWD standard across the board to become the Japanese Audi
