They had me disappointed at first because I know that Houston isn't better than us. We still have a long way to go but we should be able to hold our own now.
This year we finally have enough talent to compete and beat Houston, even though they didn't play like it at first. A few more strong recruiting classes and look at AAC
From a 1999 Tulane graduate living overseas and limited to following this game online at work (covertly) on a Friday morning where I am, thank you. Thank you, players! Thank you, coaches! What an absolute thrill. It feels like the undefeated 1998 season all over again to this aging alum. There are no more passionate fans out there than us die-hard Tulane fans. It's just that misfortune (e.g., Katrina) and some unlucky decisions have kept us down and out for a while. We're beaten and bruised, but we are oh-so-ready to support a team as passionate and hardworking as this one! Again, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Roll Wave!
I'm from New Orleans and I've been praying for this team to be great on a consistent basis. We are getting better fam hopefully we can keep growing and recruiting great players. Be safe overseas
I'm guessing as a USF fan, since your team sucks, you hate UCF winning but beating a bad UH team at home in the final seconds is not quite the same as beating UCF twice which is what it would take for Tulane to win the conference.
1. The AAC is a great conference and is getting better every year. The ACC have about 4 teams that is a few 4 star talents away from competing with those other big conferences 2. Tulane is not that same college that use to get killed every game. We held the great Auburn Tigers to just 24 points. The culture for Tulane is changing for the better. Our coach has rebuilt programs and we've been having a solid recruiting class for the last 2 years. All we need is 2 more strong recruiting classes and watch how good we been in the future, this team is one of the youngest in college. 3.DON'T SLEEP ON THE GREEN WAVE BECAUSE WE COMING.
USF Fan sorry to say it, but UCF would smother Tulane. Tulane will not be winning this conference. Many people are forgetting the caliber of the team that UCF has.
Very entertaining game. Tulane's Defense was fairly solid in the second half and the Tulane QB very lucky to pull off a win (7-20, 35% completion rate). But a W is a W. Good luck with the rest of the season Tulane.
We held the Number 8 team in the Country to 24 points. Strong recruiting class for the past 2 years and a coach that has rebuilt programs. I'll say Tulane is heading in the right direction. Don't sleep on the Green Wave if you haven't been keeping up.
@Jon Davis Even if their best WR was out doesn't make that much of a difference. Auburn still out class us in every other position. Tulane has a long way to go but this team is getting better every year. I just looked up our recruiting class for 2020 and it looks very good. Coach Fritz and the Athletic director is doing a great job building and changing the culture to a winning one
Me and my dad almost went to this game. But we had already attended the week before and my dad was getting up early the next day since this was a Thursday game, and the final play happened right in front our usual section. Bruh we missed a game and moment of a lifetime. Still got to watch on TV but not gonna lie it still hurt some.
Years of terrible coaches and athletic directors. Years of still going to games Tulane is expected to lose by two scores or more, years of watching the small crowds in the superdome getting smaller and smaller. And then suddenly this new coach comes in, we build a stadium and start winning those aforementioned games. It feels like its all led up to this game, and as someone who has painstakingly invested their emotions into this team since the age of 10 its beautiful seeing this program finally heading in the right direction. I hope they wisen up and offer coach fritz a monster contract to keep him here.
Houston thought they stole a p5 coach hahaha. This guy's has been choking and losing games like this his whole stint at WVU. Theirs a reason he didn't get an extension hahaha
Thanks man. Right back at you, MW is looking very strong. (Maybe that's just by comparison to Pac12 which isn't saying much, but the MW plays some entertaining quality football, too.)
@@judelloyd7907 you know come Sunday night the Dome will be lit for the next to last LA vs TEX ball and I'll be tuning in (dal vs NOLA nfc championship)
While known today as The Green Wave, from 1893 to 1919 Tulane Athletics teams were known as “The Olive and Blue.” The eye-catching colors of olive green and sky blue have long been and continue to be a staple at Tulane.
EXACTLY!! At the very least TRY to dive and trip him up BEFORE he reaches the end zone, maybe then time runs out or you have one more attempt to stop them.
IDK - hard to tell from that angle. He might have been 2.5 yards away, and no dive at a guy running flat out is going to make up that ground. Might get chewed out for it in film though!
If only the Saints can get these breaks and by the way new orleans sweeps Houston LA takes another game from TEXAS next up Saints vs Cowboys hopefully they met in the nfc championship game✌
I'm from Louisiana and I love my Green Wave, Tigers, ULL, and LA Tech but I have a soft spot for Texas especially Houston. UH has lost to High quality teams, they're scheduled has been tough so far. Green Wave has been trying to rebuild our program for about five years now and it's finally starting to show. Coach Fritz has been amazing for my city and State. We have been recruiting very well and we need a bunch of more great recruiting classes but this team is getting better. I know because I keep up with this conference and my Green Wave, one of my dreams is to see Tulane ranked and winning consistently plus competing with my Tigers equal one day.
on the game winning TD pass, poor tackling by the Houston secondary. none of them attempted to wrap around the WR. they just tried to "bump him down" with a shoulder. WEAK. why have a secondary when those guys are terrified of tackling?
@@jammarflipricorn3852 - I ask a serious question and I get a flippant off topic comment that includes a spelling error, bad grammar, and is almost incoherent. Nice try amigo.
