Esthetically Audi rules the roost. I love BMWs and Mercedes-Benz but there designs are a bit busy by comparison. The Audi is neat and clean inside and out. I can’t afford it but I love it!
CareerFireman I think they are starting to compete stylistically, but I don't think most people are truly cross-shopping Kia with Germans, or any Europeans for that matter.
I'm starting to believe that audi has something against a nice exhaust system. If it was an electric car I could understand the subtraction. I hope the s-line doesn't get the same treatment. Needless to say I probably wouldn't buy a car this expensive and then have to change the exhaust system to something more appropriate.
That steering wheel is awesome (and, of couse, the Infotainment system - the force feedback is a great improvement) ... But I don't get what is the problem with the "A7 55 TFSI Quattro" name. There's nothing different from the version variations you will see clearly shown on Mercedes or BMW vehicles. So the BMW's "X5 M50d" badge is not a problem, but the Audi's "A7 55 'TFSI' Quattro" is? I do not work on Audi's marketing team and completely get the message - I would presume that a "55" is more luxurious than a "45" and that the car has AWD traction, and when we start to get used to it, we will understand precisely the meaning, as we do with LS, LT and LTZ or 528i-545i for example.
As much as I love the clean look of touch screens, having to take my gloves off to turn on the heat or seat warmers in a Minnesota winter is a huge negative for me.
I think what reads your finger movements is ir beams (there’s an ”ir-net” in front of the screen) so gloves is no problem. As long as you dont have those big arctic gloves :)
A warning before you hit the curb? Uhhhh, by the time you realize what the f that noise is for, you've hit the curb. There's dings and chimes for a hundred different things in these cars. If you're driving and about to hit a curb, no ding is going to prevent that. Now, if it actively steers you away from the curb like the active lane keep assist, then ok. But he said it was just a warning. Instead of a ding, it came over the speaker yelling "CURB!!", that might help too.
I played with the Hondas non button layout. It was horrible. For the stereo I would have two buttons. Volume / on off and tunne/ mute. Hopefully the warranty I'd for 10 yrs. Otherwise, lol no radio no A.C It is just like the new VW ARTEON, but without buttons. 😀
I prefer the cleaner stying and interiors of Volvo of the European manufactures, but looks a nice car if you don't want something more practical for rear seat passengers . The new Audi branding for engine performance has the feel of something Audi management teams just got fed up of arguing about so agreed to. I can see the need however, tiny displacement engines with complex blowers, batteries and electric motors are starting to look a better higher end power-plant than 3-4 L high end 6 and 8 cylinder ICEs.
This Audi guy is completely wrong about what's the most dritracting while driving. It's not about the feedback after you click something because you can feel that you touched the glass. Aiming with your finger to touch the correct part of the display is the most distracting (you have to look ad the display and guide your finger all the time) and that's where touch panels give you zero feedback, that's where they're most distracting and therefore most dangerous.
daisyroots - I'm not seeing your point. A 6 year old anything would be a fraction of the cost of a brand new same thing. I'll take the new over the way old any day. Plus, I don't know of too many A7's that are 6 years old with only 33k miles. Only if it were someone's 3rd car and barely drove it. 5500 miles per year. Maybe an S7 or RS7.
Just swapped my 7yr old A7 with a genuine 25k miles on the clock for the new petrol S Line. It’s a huge step up in terms of tech, smoothness, looks, etc. Shame the experience of dealing with the Audi dealers was so poor. I bought it in spite of them, as they were all pretty useless.
Before the redesigned Panamera I would've taken the S7... now I'll take the Panamera all day. Better looking rear end, what can I say I'm an ass man ;)
Every time you say look at the trunk, Mikey points the camera anywhere but IN THE TRUNK. Roman, you have to better train the boy - or cut him loose and get someone more capable across the board. Sorry to be so harsh, but you are getting nowhere with this.
WTF and stuff is up with the VW family of awesomeness putting fake exhaust outlets in there new designs. Check out 18:30. I just don't get it???? Can the team explain this and did you ask about it while you where at the show? Thanks guys.
I thought the same thing until I clicked on the gear to adjust and noticed it only showed 360p as an option. All other videos in my feed are playing in HD. Tough to watch such a beautiful vehicle in low res :/
Audi lost it on the interior, they use to be like luxury jet that hugged you, now its like a luxury spaceship that wants to fight you. I HATE TOUCHSCREENS, is the guy handicapped, before you had dedicated buttons now you have open screens, its not faster
The 2015 Version was spot on perfect. This new one is a mess. Goofy rear lights, ugly front grill. Hate the integrated exhaust tips. Interior is a busy mess. Not a fan. This is how it was when it was beautiful: s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/news/gallery/2015-audi-s7-facelift-bows-at-paris-for-the-first-time-live-photos_10.jpg
You know, when visiting Audi dealerships, this guy encapsulates everything I don't like about their museums...aka dealerships. Their workers are so damn arrogant...I mean he doesn't seem engaged, and doesn't seem to understand his customer base. And though their cars are nice now....let's not pretend that has always been the case. In saying this, I like the car hate the guy who thinks he's better than Roman until he realizes Roman knows his $hit.
Good looking car . . . . . . . . . H E L D B A C K B Y H O R R I B L E E N G I N E P L A C E M E N T A N D B U I L T I N U N D E R S T E E R I N G. Not to mention they're A B I T C H to work on. You better by made out of money or have a really good full coverage extended warranty.
MTB Addict - he wasn't referring to driving in the rain. The nav placed them in Germany and they wanted a route to coffee in the US, so they'd have to drive under water through the Atlantic. It was a joke, dude. One that sounds like it flew over your head.
CareerFireman j. D power raport are bullshit. Check some proper raport like consumer raports, ADAC, TUV etc. I don't know why idiots alweys based on jd power... Maybe because it is made for idiots.
