I find the TT works better as a regular hard top coupe, and not a roadster the design of the roof is imo iconic, and the soft top kind of ruins that, but to each their own
It's the first time I've heard someone call the flat bottom steering wheel a pretzel steering wheel, made me laugh so much. I've got a pretzel wheel on the Golf R I drive right now as well, I won't look at it the same way ever again :) Thanks Misha
The car is cool. But it misses the 5 cylinder for the sound. Audi’s 5 cylinder is one of the best sounding engines, after what my ears like. Wery different video from you, i love it. 👍👍👍
@@NotSean269 My 2009 2.0 TSI Scirocco can manage around 7l / 100km on the highway and probably around 8.5 or something mixed driving (with a somewhat heavy foot). How is the 5 cyl? Rs3 or tt rs?
@@ZanicL3 my A4 DTM (Also 2.0T also gets almost identical) its the Volvo 5Cyl (Focus ST225) and it was 10-14L/100km around town never able to get it under 10, BUT they get "amazing" highway of around 7-8. Its now off the road and been converted into a Time Attack car.
Pretty good review. Yes, the winter tires are not the right ones for a review, but I understand why Audi did that. And yes, I would love to hear your comments on the handling at higher speeds on twisty roads. I have had the Mk1 TT, the Mk2 TT and ..ok, I am biased...I own a 2017 TTS..for me the car is perfect.
The seats can be moved forward and there's still enough room. I've had 5"2" adults fit in the rear. Also dynamic mode firms the suspension comfort softens it assuming you have mag ride :)
I have never driven any sport cars but really want to try this Audi TT if I could have the chance. Personally, I like the design, although the back seat is really shallow; however for some people might be just fine. I am 5.3 tall, so no matter the front or back seat might work for me. If you are taking friends who are shorter then 5.5. It might work. (Just personal opinion) I like to put my backpack at passenger seat or back seat so that I can just reach something I want immediately instead of getting out of the car and open the trunk. Over all, it is a good car to me.
Blue winter sky shows off both the Castle & the Audi beautifully. Internal fit and finish looks real quality. Really like the displays inside the vents! Sounds sporty enough for a 4 cylinder too. Favourable first impressions, but was the track closed at the time? HAHAHA Thanks Misha.
Thanks for sharing your first impressions. Personally I think the exterior looks so much better now than the older models. I like your headcam too, great perspective for us to see. How long are you going to have the car for?
+ Misha -- Funny how I asked the question and got my answer the next day. Even though you are a presenter on the "What's Up Audi?" show on the Audi RU-vid channel (Just to remind everyone so they go subscribe) we who've followed you for some years know that you will give us an impartial view of any car you drive. Great first impression report on the TTS.
Very nice review. I must point out however that the TTRS and TTS weigh nearly the same thanks to the 5 cylinder using an aluminum block and the 4 cylinder is cast iron. Both motors are located in the exact same place with a 60/40 weight distribution. The RS also has stronger brakes, stiffer springs and 100 extra horsepower which no one that I've met says is "too much". The TTRS had an identical time to the Cayman S in Car & Driver's Lightning Lap held annually at VIR in America. The TTS was nearly 15 seconds off that pace and the gap would be much larger at the Ring.
Some years ago, I had a long term TT quattro loaner from Audi. The first time I took it the airport to pick up la bionda who travels with countless bags, I discovered it had more luggage space than a 997, and didn't need a separate taxi for what didn't fit in the car.
Epic POV. Thank you for this First Impressions Video. Awesome Infos aswell. I think about buying one for the Nordschleife/daily. Now i am not sad anymore that i cant afford an RS. Questions i would have for the Future Review. Is there a Way to improve the Steering Feel without ruining the warranty of the Car? How is the TC? Can i turn it off? Is it to Interrupting? How is the shifting? Does it Shift by itself? I cant wait for you to get Cars in the Future and Test them on the Ring 😍
Some questions I can answer, yes you can turn of TC (if you hold the button down) I believe your able to turn it all off. (My 2009 2.0 TSI Sirocco doesn't let me, but these later models do let you turn it off completely). Shifting is crazy quick. And yes it shifts by itself but u can also set it in sport (will keep higher revs) and in manual mode (will shift at redline as well so you won't over rev the car)
@@DanielNeres The TTS uses the 2.0L TFSI 4 cylinder engine, not the 2.5L TFSI 5 cylinder. That's exclusive to the TT RS and RS3. It's the soundaktor that is emulating the noise from the 5 cylinder engine.
I think it should be mandated that there's an option in the menu to turn of all fake sounds. Or even better, that fake sounds are completely banned. It's just stupid.
Exterior and proportions of the newer TT's are kinda meh, but I really like the interior. Probably a quick car and fun to drive, despite all the haters. I always had a problem with the high door line and the window position. You feel like you sit low in a low car but ... yeah you aren't. I like the new interior mirrors with the low profile border!
Since the car meeting video, I cant get your ''lijpe shit ouwe'' out of my head hahaha! Heel tof dat je zulke video's maakt Misha, wordt echt gewaardeerd en zijn hele leuke vids! Ga zo door :)
I kinda feel sorry for VAG-sporty cars like the TTS or the Golf GTi. It seems like they all have problems with their stomach, always making those farting sounds :P ok that was my bad joke for the day :D No but seriously it´s a nice car :)
He means that the R8 and the Porsche cars have a driving mode button on the steering wheel, the VAG thing is because Audi and Porsche is owned by VW and is part of the Volkswagen Auto Group
I'm not joking, the way the numbers are designed of the rpm is exact like in my 2009 Honda Civic FN, Misha you have to connections to Audi, did they made copy + pasta or are they trying to become more jdm? :D Foodshot went to hell again 0/10
@@ludwigjakob3709 ok I see your point and I accept that because I really want to pet your dog. Let's say foodshot bonus is valid until 01.05.2019, considering the fact that I dropped that badboy of Maggi I think in August 18 at Apex so the bonus is not that high
If you want food shot. Go to a restaurant yourself. Then you also can taste it. Aaaa i am just kidding. I dont need food shot i a car video. I go out i want to see and taste good food. But we are all different.
I've noticed this in the past few vlogs, Misha, but what the hell is up with the image here? i.imgur.com/Z4UkvYI.jpg Rolling shutter repair or something? It's noticeable when there's fast movement.
@@mgcharoudin Ooh, can't wait to see it. I recently got a new gimbal for my phone too, it's been fun taking video with it. Always great when new toys arrive! ^_^ Oh, and the Audi TTS video is good too. Looking forward to the full review. I really like the current generation. The interior is just perfect, especially if you get it in brown leather on black. Mmm...
since the tachometer isn't calibrated and overreads by probably 5km/h or more at those speeds, there really is nothing incriminating here :D Just noticed, there is no good equivalent word to the german word "eichen/geeicht" in english.
I had one and sold it after 6 months. Hard uncomfortable seats, difficult to get a suitable driving position despite adjusting everything, engine makes a boring flat drone like a yummy mummies shopping hatch, over-complex dash and controls, bits of cabin trim coming loose and falling off repeatedly. Disappointing.
autotopnl drives quite fast in germany, i think you are little bit more cautious because you are not citizen of germany and you are scared to be deported in russia? or you just obey traffic laws.
1. i don't think you can get deported for exceeding the speed limit 2. i think Misha has some kind of Dutch citizenship or residence permit for all those years he lived in Holland
3. Daniel Neres has a valid point 4. i think that if you live and work at the Nurburgring you don't necessarily feel the need to exceed the speed limit on local roads and roundabouts
