2019 Brickyard 400 | NASCAR on FOX HIGHLIGHTS 

It's such a shame to see the grandstands so empty I remember watching nascar as a kid in the 90s stands at race tracks used to be pack for qualifying. It's a sad sight for sure

Seems like Drafting used to be a major key to this race seems like with this package it isn't as noticeable. I miss when they used to 200 plus going into turn 1

Jimmie will get a top 10 points finish in 2020, he's had a major uptick in speed lately just without the finishes to show for it. Also props to Newman for pointing his way in with a Roush car over an SHR car. Aero was a big problem with nobody being able to pass Bubba at the end but a nice finish for him as well. My preds are Newman Bowyer Almirola Bowman out round 1, Larson Byron Blaney and a surprising Truex out round 2, Elliott wins a race in round 3 moving him to the championship 4 along with Kyle Busch, Hamlin, and Harvick, eliminating Jones Kurt Keselowski and Logano. Harvick wins title finishing 2nd to Larson in the race. Hot takes here but I'm going with it.

Need to do away with these tracks that have all the empty seats, add a 2nd race back at Darlington. They were sold out last week.

Stands look like an ARCA race

There was a brief time when people were talking about how Indy Car at Indy was in trouble of being surpassed and made irrelevant by NASCAR. Indy Car had just gone through the schism, dividing open-wheel talent in the US. While NASCAR had just started the Brickyard which immediately became a marquee event. Attendance was really waning for the Indy500 and the Brickyard would easily sell out. Now, even though Indy Car isn't as big overall as it once was, the Indy500 sells out. The stands are full and it doesn't even seem like the stands are 1/3 full for the Brickyard.

Not been able to see Driver introduction we missed how they were dressed and with there family for throw back weekend. When they did show one what Matt coming out as Rocky was great showing all the Drivers and music was great

Shocked by all of the empty stands! NASCAR has fallen! Vanilla corporate drivers, pony cars and Toyotas, crazy rule changes, they messed with success ...

Anyone that thinks this race hasn't lost its appeal with the fans, go watch the 2007 running of this race, take.note of all the fans in the stands. Nascar at indy just needs to go run IRP.

Everybody's complaining about the crowds and not about the racing. If you're gonna complain that NASCAR's on a downward spiral, BE part of the problem instead of actually watching the race. The true NASCAR fans don't want you here if all you're gonna do is whine and complain about "oh NASCAR didn't sell out" well no flipping duh it didn't sell out literally nobody likes watching NASCAR racing at Indy. Before you say "Oh but they packed it in 1994" well that's because it was the first event there and it's opening day of stock car racing visiting perhaps the most historic race track in the United States, arguably the world. They didn't know what the racing would be like and now they do, so less people show up at Indy. And despite that fact, this 250,000-seating place managed to have 70,000 fans jam into there on a Sunday afternoon for a 3 and a half hour long NASCAR race. It's literally double the attendance figures from 2016, and it's up from 2017. 2018 was a rain-out making the race spill over to Monday so that doesn't count. But still, they're DOUBLING attendance figures from over 3 years ago. Stop whining and complaining about the stands and watching the darn race for what it is and not the grandstands, or just go over to NFL if you want to see packed stands.

The sad part the concert probably had more people then the race itself

Great Crowd lol compare the stands with the 94 brickyard 400. They don't belong there because when they tested in 1993 the track was different and had potential but, in 1994 they narrowed the track for safety and took away the aprons which were replaced by that access road , which took away the 3 wide passing in the turns.

So many seats, so few butts to fill them.

Let's move Indy's 3rd rate Motorsports event to the weekend directly after the NHRA US Nationals. That move was almost as good as moving the Xfinity IRP race to IMS. Maybe instead y'all should move both Cup and Xfinity back to IRP. Then you might actually (barely) fill the stands over there with the fans you have left

Wow! Sad to see all of those seats empty. This use to be a great sport. Nascar has brought this on itself though with so many rule and package changes over the years. I dont watch nascar much anymore since jeff gordon, tony stewart, carl edwards, dale jr. And matt kenseth retired. Just not the same. I tried watching it at the beginning of the season but with all the rule changes the racing just isnt the same. One thing that gets old is the rule changes. Something every year. Stop taking horse power away! Go back to basics nascar. Get rid of technology. Go back to basics. So sad to see empty seats at the brickyard. Maybe get the guys out of the tv booths and behind the wheel again for a couole races just to see if that helps. Definitely wont hurt

I think the biggest reason for the empty stands is the fact that it's honestly not a fun race to go to. No matter what seat you sit in, you can only see less than half the track. The views are terrible. It's the closet track to me, yet I find myself going to other races in Chicago or Michigan or Kentucky instead of here, because I know it won't be fun to watch.

That attendance is terrible I doubt there was 30k people in the stands

Between the networks dictating what time to start the races and the stage racing making the races longer I don't have time to watch before I have to get up to go to work on Sundays because I work nights. And any race on Saturday night I've gotten to the point where I just don't care now.
