I just leased one of these last week and it is by far the best car I’ve ever owned! I’m getting something like 55+ mpg! it’s better than my old Prius. I think I’m going to get about 700 miles off of one tank..so happy!!!
Such a great car! I bought a 2016 Camry hybrid LE when I moved into New York City for college and can't believe how quiet it is while accelerating or at a stop! Also parallel parking is a breeze in this thing. I test drove a 2018 hybrid LE for the heck of it and couldn't believe the difference in the steering and ride quality. It doesn't even feel like a toyota! It is much more floaty, yet more stable and has less body roll than my 2016 LE hybrid. I compare it to my mother's new Lexus RX. When I graduate I will definitely sell my car and lease this!
Your reviews are awesome! Definitely would have stopped by your dealership if we were nearby. You helped us make our decision and we ended up purchasing this vehicle
Excellent work Jeff. As I may have mentioned before, unless you absolutely NEED the 300 HP V6, the hybrid is definitely the way to go. I may be old -fashioned but I would choose the nickel hydride battery as they have a two decade record of proven dependability. I would also select 16" wheels to maximize fuel efficiency with reduced rolling resistance. The dealer can supply a nice set of alloys instead of those Plain Jane steel wheels. Big, bling wheels are completely counterproductive on any hybrid. Lastly, a black car may not generally be the best choice for videography.
All really good points. I agree about the black color. That was the only color I had on my lot right now....you wouldn't believe how fast we sell our supply of Camry Hybrids when they arrive. Ironically, I got a silver LE in this morning...sigh
Jeff, Make no mistake, the 4 cylinder Camry is a fine car but the Hybrid is now so good it renders the regular 4 redundant. When Akio finally comes to his senses and adds a manual to the Camry lineup, the Accord is finished!
I bought one of this! Can't wait to see how the 2019 Camry Hybrid LE drives! Super exited about the advanced features like lane keep assist and radar cruise control. Also the good efficiency xD
@@Toyotajeff Jeff do you have LE Camry hybrid? Not SE or XLE? I'm just deciding between them,- what's in the real world driving can you get with the SE trim? I like the sporty trim, but also want the impressive MPG of LE! Which one is the best to own?
Thorough job presenting the model, appreciate that. A big question mark for me concerns battery usage for, say, one of the later iphone models. Apple Car Play will be intensively used. Thanks.
Ev mode real use is more to move the car to and from a parking spot / garage, so you don’t wake up the family in the morning or evening, using it in stop and go traffic is useless, because once you’re moving again, it will try to recharge the battery using more gasoline.
Looks like teh Faux Lexus with that Ugy Front ( Contanctly getting Broern) Griule.. Its been the Best thing our Body shop has seen in yrs ! We Now keep 3 Grilles in Stock supply and go thru them every Month! And Get some Screening installed behind those Grilles to Protect your A/C Condensor..ROcks and Snow/Salt/Ice and Heavy Water Puddles!
Something I just thought about is that, you should do I a comparison between the 2009 Camry LE vs 2019 Camry LE. Btw Toyota just needs to make the full led lights from the XLE and XSE! Don’t know why it isn’t standard. (Cost cutting)
I don't see why they can't have full LED's on all trim levels. You're totally right! So you are suggesting a do a comparison video of the 2009 vs. the new 2019 Camry? Interesting concept! hmmmmmm....
Proper But even then, these are the base models. The XLE and XSE are the more rich-feeling trims, so it makes sense why the full LED lights are standard there. This isn't on the Avalon's level or anything... :P
Larry Forrester Hi Larry! I drive a 2018 Camry and I LOVE the driver legroom!!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you stick around my channel and keep watching and commenting...jeff
Hi Jeff,my XLE Hy is also silver,I love this car more with every mile I put on it.I don’t know what Toyota is thinking when they mislead a customer over the Entune 3.0 audio packaging situation.I was told before I bough the car that gps maps were available with the Scout app on my XLE.,but the Scout app tells me that I can’ t get the maps. Also from what I read, the Scout app is dangerously faulty and misleading. Not something that I would expect from a company like Toyota with their STAR safety system. After the sale of the car my salesmen was not much concerned with helping me even pair up my phones, which I did myself. I would like for Toyota to know this: I don’t buy a car for the gps system in it but my sister-in-law,who loves our new Camry and is looking to buy a new car crossed the Camry off her list after I enlighten her of the Entune 3.0 shell game that Toyota is playing on their customers. Still love my car for what it is. Semper Fi Jeff
Hey Gerald! Thanks for the feedback. First off, it sounds like you got a shitty salesperson if they wouldn't even help you pair your phone. That should be done with 100% of customers at delivery of the car. Glad you love your Camry in spite of the Scout issues. I'm glad to see my silver XLE has a twin rolling out there!!! I wish I could have helped you....I'm pretty good at troubleshooting! Send your sister-in-law over to me and I'll help her with the whole process :) Semper Fi!
Does this car have the old pedestrian warning sound from the older Camry Hybrids and Priuses or the new pedestrian sound from the new Rav4 Hybrid and Corolla Hybrid?
Great Review. The rear vents should be standard on Hybrid Le and Se since they both include dual zone climate control. Can you get the dual pipe exhaust on the Le or XLE as an option?
Thanks for commenting and welcome Saudi Arabia! How's the weather where you are? It's 75 and partly cloudy today. It's awesome when you can add all option packages! Jeff
Agreed Gerald! If you have an iPhone, you can have CarPlay and then you can have apple maps, google maps, and waze as options instead.....what color did you buy? My 2018 XLE is silver...jeff
mejuliko With that I always say if it fits your budget then yes you should. If it stretches your monthly payment or budget then don’t do it. But I think it’s a good value.
The Camry hybrid LE, without a doubt! It's faster and has power. Been averaging between 50-60 mpg, you need to test drive one at the dealer... you might even end up buying it when you test drive it... They got me because i liked the handling, the quietness, and the power.
there is a button near the reverse camera that opens the trunk. Also a button on the inside and the key = 3 ways to open it. 4 if you count the pull tab from within the trunk!
I'll put that on my list. The scout gps app is polarizing. Some people really dislike it! however, it's worked well for me. The main problem seems to be it occasionally cannot connect for whatever reason. Thanks for the video suggestion...jeff
This was my dads first car my mom had a normal Camry now we have a 2016 Camry, 2019 Camry Hybrid and a 2020 Toyota Supra. My dad wants a Tesla now though ._.
Hiya Mladen! I've been told by 2 reliable Toyota sources this will not be as an update on the 2018 Camry.....bummer news for all of us, including me, who have 2018 Camry's...thanks for being part of my channel community! jeff
Great question Penske! I added it in my Apple Store and also added Waze. It should automatically be added to your CarPlay when you start it up the next time......by the way, I've been working on my own "Penske File" for a few months now and I think I'm getting a lot accomplished! That reminds me, I need to add more Seinfeld references in my videos....I've used Soup Nazi before but nothing else yet...jeff
Gosh. I know toyota like to make some difference look between model. Even I love the Le model for better mpg but if i have to choose then i go for se model. Never be a fan of LE big grill fascia. Look ugly thought. Why don't they give a choice of LE with SE front fascia
@@siddhartharay1835 I think you misunderstood. It was a joke because you said "human beings". English must not be your first language. The Camry is a fine car. I own one but am switching to a Lexus GS.
I'm pretty sure the review is of the 2019. As the next year's models always come out in late summer/early fall. Actually I think the 2020 Corollas are already out.
It would have made about a 4mpg difference. The SE and XLE were given Nickel for profit means only. Toyota being cheap fools. I'd have paid 500-1000 more for Lithium Ion. Stupid to put it in the base LE. Just put nickel in the base then. The RAV4 hybrid with Lithium Ion instead of Nickel, would have been an instant buy for me.
Ever really try to plaay with the System while trying to driver doing 40-60 moh? Don't, put a Black or Dark Gray Cloth over the Screen ...Last yr? Wwe went on 183 car Accidents that had those Screens up and running and the People were trying to get them to wor and play wit them and While watching TV on them is Illegals, but not al that other Garbage.. Hopefuly they will be Illegal soon as well..
@@curve5746 Actually the only reason I decided to pay the $11/mo is I had to watch season 2 of Cobra Kai lol. I just never cancelled it because I spend far more on Beer every week than I do on this. So it's only about the equivalent of 2 to 3 beers per month that's how I look at it.
The where not curves and how slow where you going. We call you curves normal roads come to europe to find out how your car handles what hill my drive to my house is steeper and longer than that. Come on. You take people on driving test. When i test drive a car i go on a route i want not the seller.
If you tell everything about a car in a video like this then who will come to your dealership. Leave some for their imagination. Give them a reason to come to your dealership in person.
Why do people want a Black Car? They want to driver A Limo? They have Beautifull Colors and you use a Black Car? UGH.. add that UGLY GRE+ILLE- a Lexus Feature? No thank you..it ruined the car .. your going to Ruin that Front End in no time.. you even tap someday or hit a Low Curb? $bet $500 to replace that Grille.. And for $38k? try being objective and not be a car salesman for Toyota.. its lame
