CB300R is a proper neo-retro and has got Honda's reliability. Hit that Like button if you'd put your money on this. And remember to tell us below, what you think about the motorcycle.
Price is one thing, but if honda could get the faired version of this. People will go mad. Upside down forks, international product and everything honda. When bmw touches 4 lakhs mark, this price is not so skyhigh. After saying all these, i just got my interceptor, is that price justified? Not exactly, it has not so upto the mark components and the rear suspension bolt got lose, and the mirrors are out of alignment. But still the engine worth every penny. So ultimately its not the price, its the mindset you ride with.
We would agree with you @Abhishek, if the two are considered purely from a pricing perspective then the RE Conti GT does make sense but on the other hand, you have the Honda offering you a motorcycle that's neo-retro in styling that brings modern LED headlights, weighs nearly 50kg lesser thus compensating the power deficit with agile, sporty handling and decent performance that'll work well in the city and on the highway.
So true and it's also what one is looking for, the appeal of an Interceptor may not be attractive to someone looking for a modern design language and lightweight performance. That said, the Indian Market does favour full fairings over street fighters and such a motorcycle would surely give Honda an edge over the competition.
Power/weight ratio means a lot CB300R - 30 Hp - 147 kg RR 310 - 34 Hp - 169.5 kg Duke 390 - 43.5 Hp - 163 kg Int 650 - 47 Hp - 212.2 Kg (with fuel) Dominar - 40 Hp - 184 Kg Calculate Power/weight ratio & you will understand that cb300r is no slouch.
Shumi starts working with them and the video production becomes faster as he promised. 2 days vs 2 weeks difference! Short and Crisp video. Nice work PD!
No sir. This is a video, its not a 2 minute maggi noodles. Nobody cares if they have yo wait for PD. People will see PD even if they have seen others for the same reason. You got one chance to make it. Make it the best. This is no a review. Isse accha PD music daal k bike shoot kar lete. That would have been better. Shumi does not talk true Powerdrift. Ek hi toh channel hai yaar dost. An woh bhi aap galat appreciation de kar kharab mat karo bhai
Have been watching reviews of this bike since the last few hours, but now when I saw PD's video, it's absolutely clear as to why these guys are the best when it comes to Indian motoring journalism. Miles ahead other channels and in a league of its own. Keep going guys, you make the wait worth it.
Short and sweet video, PD. However as an ex KTM owner who really took care of his bike, I need to add a point here which many fail to bring forth. After sales. Since KTM has way fewer models and number of bikes running around compared to the other brands in this price bracket (other than Kawasaki and BMW), what I had experienced was that the service personnel of KTM had much fewer bikes to deal with on a daily basis. This meant that the bikes got better individual attention. This low number also meant that you could approach and make rapport with the service guys which I cannot say for all the other brands I've experienced. Even though the KTMs are a bit more heavy on maintenance, the fact that I could drop my bike off and get it back in an hour or three from the service center with every problem thoroughly addressed was a huge relief. The only regular botheration was that the chain started coming loose every 500kms and occasionally the RC 390 loved to create rattles from places you never knew existed! I wish manufacturers put up separate service centers for their premium offerings just to manage the crowd control. This would make me pick up the new Honda in a jiffy since I'm a short guy and the low weight is a huge boon in the city. I remember having to keep the family RE for two whole days just for the regular service.
Just a correction here guys, the bike weighs 143kg not 147kg. HMSI listed the spec sheet with the 4kg saree guard as standard. So the cb300r is in fact 25kg lighter than the cbr250r
I'm owner of DUKE_390 CONS _ Over heat Engine not refind Jerky Quality Ok ok!! And I'm a Ex owner of CBR_250 R Using since 2011 and still same power same !! A1 IN quality..!! Can chase the RC_200 OR DUKE 250 Easily!! Boys thats Honda...!! Belive that
What about after sales service btw where do you live? Which year model do you own ? I'm planning to Duke 390 but ❤ says Honda + new Duke 390 is coming (don't get confuse with adventure 1) 😊
Thanks for saying it, i am fed up of reviews that compare and says “it’s not duke 390” ... hell yeah its not.. and thats what make it unique and different..!! I test rode it and i am in love with it...!! It do have a punch for highways ...👌
Yuvraj snehal yeah I really agree the fact that 390 is a low quality bike in all way I own the 2017 390 and the ownership experience with it is just disappointing. Electronic failure Bad quality plastics Poorly refined engine Lot of vibes Service is also average This bike wont be the same after 3-4 month of purchase Once reach 10-15k km on odo and the bike will give you a hell lot of problems You don’t get that peace of mind thing
This is a perfect time if it was locally manufactured than the aggressive price makes it sell more.....But still as it has a good hardware it may survive
i would really suggest you take a test ride of both the bikes and then decide. I have done so and i can report back, that light weight of CB300R makes it quite agile and a treat to handle. Especially if you are going to spend more time riding the bike within city limits. Both bikes are very well built and i like both of em equally. Both have some shortcomings that you need to live with. In Short, Interceptor feels like you are trying to wrestle a hippo into submission. CB300R feels like you are riding a greyhound.
@@JayanandSupali Cool bro!! I've already test driven Honda cb300r, I'm planning to buy the ride for touring coz mostly I travel long distances, I'm not saying Honda is bad, but when the value for money proposition comes I'll take on interceptor...!! What u said is definitely right Honda is very light but the weight works in city to Flickr around and the pillion comfort on Honda cb300r is pathetic..!! I'll now test ride interceptor and some other bikes and then decide!!
☺️ It is expensive for a single, as you mentioned the engine was derived from cb250, cb300r ex showroom is same as cb 250's on road price in Bangalore😢. Also waiting period was 4 months when I enquired on the day of it launch.
Expensive or not, more power or not, this is a better bike to live with than any other competitor bike. Honda is a synonym for reliability which you definitely can't expect the same from Bajaj or KTM. If this fits into your budget, just buy it without thinking twice, your wallet, back and ass will thank you. I am not a Honda fan, never even owned a Honda but would definitely chose this if give a choice.
Haha, that's quite accurate! But, buying it without thinking? We'd suggest to think beforehand - what is the criteria? what one looks for in a bike. Reliability and comfort? This! Performance and value for money? There are many options!
I went to the dealer to check out this bike and the younger sibling, CB150 . Both had very high-quality components , looked very sleek and well built. I'm considering it
Love it!! Bought my cb300r a month ago. Smoothest most balanced machine I've ever ridden. It is my 4th moto. Started on 2007 ninja 250, moved onto Er6n, then picked up a Z125... Nothing is as comfortable as my cb300r or as light near this amount of fit, finish & braking power.
Talking about the Honda CB300R, the design is not a breath of fresh air but it can still be your daily freshness. This bike is something you would like to hop on everyday & ease out in the city. It can even be your weekend getaway up the hilly stretch with a little light off-roading. The power may not seem much on papers, but again practically, being almost 25 kgs lighter than the CBR 250, it has that extra punch & can be your daily dose of refinement as well. Coming with a price tag of Rs.2.41 lakhs, it might be a little heavy on your pockets, but someone wanting that Honda badge for a long time & had just one option can now go ahead with the CB300R to get that extra attention. Again coming to the point my friends, is the price justified?? Well I think it is.
Excellent Job., I mean it was unexpected to think to shoot at Night. And this show makes me feel that yes this is perfect light condition for shooting CB 300R.
With all the arguments , i still believe ktm390 is still best vfm bike under 3 lakh , tft display , slipper clutch , ride by wire , 320mm disc brake , super moto mode , adjustable levers , and dont forget its made in India thats why its less pricy , u can compare the price in europe and america with its rivals Not that these bikes are not good but i love riding the ktm’s
I mean even if Shumi was the one who invented bikes, he does not understand what we would truly would like to know the most. How do that do that? You guys are in tune with the bikes the industry and the whole damn trend. Its like you guys know without asking. Something PD is known for. Shumi does not do justice. Slowly and steadily PD's whole philosophy of showcasing has changed. I'm about to buy a CB300R with a blind faith in Honda just coz I like it. Not because you guys could sell it to me. I wasted weeks for this review. Shumi your hero review was the worst so far. Apna show kharab karo dusro ka nai. Soon PD army seems to dissolve.
@@powerdriftofficial oh ya . I always forget to do that.. but ur team is to be blamed for it.. the videos are highly engaging..m in awe for entire video.. I don't think anyone in India can beat ur production quality
It truly is a special motorcycle. It's a Honda, it's the most beautiful two wheels this side of 7 lacs (till the Husqys arrive) and it's a very good package. Did i mention? It's a Honda! Mr. Shumi, you are a class of your own. The video is crisp and you know exactly everything you want to know to purchase this. Maybe give a little flak for the smallish fuel tank?. The old Duke 390 got so much of it. Apart from that, Me Gusta! Want more. Lots and lots and lots more.
Everyone is uploading reviews of this bike at the same time yet Powerdrift's review is the best (as always) 🔥 I absolutely love the way thsis bike looks, idk why everyone calls it a cafe racer tho lol, it's more like a neo-retro Streetfighter (kinda like the Yamaha XSR900). Either way, great move by Honda on finally bringing a nice small bike intead of just another activa lol.
Sooo... A bike that costs more than the D390 but isn't as powerful nor having even half the features... Or a bike that is 1 lakh more expensive than the Dominar400 which can do highway rides and cruise just as easily for longer with a bigger tank, or a bike that doesn't even get tubeless tyres is VFM for you??. Let me correct you. The engine is VFM. Everything else is still RE level chutzpah! The INT650 is significantly flawed.
@@aamir.khan.1991 @Aamir Khan Firstly, the 650s make more power and torque than a D390. They cost the same and you get one extra cylinder with the 650. I have no idea how you called a D390 VFM but it seems like a TFT LCD display,LED headlamps and cheap lightweight plastics all around is what matters to you. The Dominar is definitely value for money and I agree. It's basically a D390 for 3/4th the price. But finally the engine is the heart of the matter and is what I look for in any bike.
@UCu-XzQudLiOCLiAlfv23Cgw More power, more torque but way more weight. The 0-60, 0-100 and the top speed runs are better on the D390. One extra cylinder but both are air cooled. Liquid cooling is way more consistent. Throw in the ice coolant and the engine runs cooler than the RE. Switchable ABS for some trail riding and a supermoto mode, both absent on the 650. And you are right. The superb TFT display and the hyper futuristic led lamps borrowed from the super Duke makes my purchase that much more cool. You might think lightweight Plastic as a con but is used exactly for that purpose, lightweight. That cheap plastic makes the Duke 390 single-handedly own the class by a superb power to weight ratio.. And I haven't even mentioned the USD forks with independent function or the standard metzelers that are benchmark for small capacity sport riding. Throw in an aircushion and you can tour on it just as well as the interceptor. So, what I am getting for the a slightly less amount than the interceptor is a machine that is practically faster, slightly better in city, way way better on the twisties, illuminates the road better at night and only marginally inferior on the long haul. I get better equipment by compromising on the engine size (the effect is negated by the light weight anyway). So the D390 is definitely not VFM when you bring the dominar in the picture. It can do a lot of it close enough for much lesser price. But calling interceptor 650 a VFM is a marketing gimmick you seem to have totally fallen for. Bigger engine annnnnd... that's it. The only thing interceptor can do better is torque cruising. You need to redefine your VFM definition.
How is the braking? how does it handle in corners? top speed? milage? Why does it seem like you guys are missing vital review points in the process of making videos more good looking?
The Duke and the Dominar still trump the Honda in Power/Weight Ratio. And the Dominar just creams everyone in the Power/price ratio offering 12.56 PS/kg for a lakh. The Duke pair come in #2 and #3 at 10.98 PS/kg and 9.91 PS/kg offering the next best bang for the buck followed by the Jawa42, Apache RR 310 and Continent GT 650. It's only after this competition do the Honda's feature with the Honda CB 300R followed by the CBR 250. So, overpriced? Definitely, yes. But all of this is only on the surface. Honda's have always commanded a premium and have given us an equivalent for the quality they have to offer in terms of almost zero to nil vibrations and no heating. Something which none of the competition can boast of. After all, you get what you pay for.
this is truely a nice bike and a nice product from HMSI after a very long time. (Thank God for that) Else we were destined to get Honda 4G 5G 6G and a resounding NaG for upto date bikes. I test rode this bike and its a Complete package. It has all the bell and whistles that you would need in today's time. The 2 Major things being USD forts and the Slip and Assist Clutch. The assist part is VERY VERY important. It makes a lot of difference when you are gunning down. The Claimed Milage is 39 for city and if i get anything upto that, i would be happy with as its quite close to my current bike FZ16. Its closest rival, Dominar returns 25. I have used Dominar for a month and i was bleeding money for petrol during that time. And did i mention its Light and agile for handling. That's a Must have when you are going to use the bike within the city for a major amount of time.
Okay so i have a Duke 390 but city riding is horrendous with its bottom end power delivery. But on open roads its power makes it so fun to ride. BUT...... i would still like to have this CB300R as a second city bike. Who cares about the 30Ps of power! It looks damn good and since its a Honda you know the build quality is going to be top notch.
That's probably what Honda is banking on too. It's sprightly in the city and most owners will be spending a lot of time with it in that environment, for which 30bhp, along with the light handling, is ample to effortlessly splice through traffic.
Hey powerdrift, I think I watches ur videos on daily basis, so I have right to ask u and u need to reply me - which has a better engine Mahindra mojo or this Honda 300?
@@deathrow8809 thanks aj, but I m talking about the refinement, below 500cc mojo has the best refined engine in our indian market. When u gets hand on both mojo and cb 300 plz let me know, which one u consider best
Hello . Great work, thanks for all the inputs. Well if i am paying 50,000 more on BMW 310r will it make a difference when compared with the Honda CB 300r. How is BMW better then Honda.
is a bike with a high initial investment, low maintenance and very safe and fun to ride, it is a bike for a very specific target audience, those who evaluate, investment, maintenance, durability (maintenance every 12,000 km), that is few problems, a lot of fun and very safe. The low weight means less injuries and the ABS with inertia sensor, makes it the safest bike you can buy
Hey hey heyyy Why'd you have to cut short those glamorous shots so much . I was really enjoying them. I love how you guys match the vibe of the video to showcase the character of every vehicle and how every vibe is so unique. Can you guys do a comprehensive video on the new Dominar and please add shit ton of glam shots to it. I love looking those shots, can you blame me?
My choices will be like the below: 1. 300R 2. 300R 3. 300R Uts worth for the price you pay and remember it cant be as abuse friendly as 400z in bad terrains will have Honda written all over it elsewhere. So if it is for your daiky use and occasiknal long rides on decent to excellent roads it is 300R. You can easily eliminate 300f with just a TD of it alongwith 300r and 400z
I didn't really like the cb300r much, felt that it was a very late launch and quiet a expensive one. But after this video my perspective definitely has changed, I wouldn't mind seeing myself own one of these 😁 shumi, Rohan and varun seem to be having a BLAST 🔥
