mcj john The crf450x is the honda equivlant to Yamahas WR450F its there road registerable enduro racing model. Where as the Crf450L is more like a dual sport. Said to have 32,000 major service intervals 3 piston rings and heavier crank ect.
Because black rims are the same color as the tire they give the tire a high profile look and this in turn gives the bike a look that is heavy, clunky and slow.
JustTryToBeFriendly its shitty cheap paint over an otherwise raw polished silver wheel that will never show scratches hardly. The black wheel either contrasts with the tire and makes it look brown, or the new tire makes the wheel look brown. Black sucks.
Well if its just paint over then yea but proper black rims look and will look better for a longer time, the silver ones look really outdated and scraches on the black rims, that arent just painted, show less scraches then the silver ones ... and they dont make it brow ... mud does :D
Throw anything off-road at it....except more than 20 miles with that peanut tank and hope you don't kill the battery because you don't have a Kickstarter. The 6 speed is cool though.
I’m still not understanding if the X model is “race ready” and the R model is obviously the MX bike where does the RX fit in? Is it more race ready than the X? Price tags seem to be the same or at least very close. I’m not getting it Honda and I’ve been a Honda rider for 35 years. On a side note the L model I’ve been wishing for since forever isn’t exciting me much. Too heavy. I’m still heavily considering a Beta purchase later this year.
The RX is more for GP, GNCC or Hare Scrambles. The RX is a rocket. The new X has a different cam I'm sure and lower compression. I sold my 07 X to get the 2017 RX. Great bike. I will wait a year and get the new X
desert450x I see now that the X has a lower compression ratio too. I guess I’m surprised how Honda is splitting up, kinda fine tuning for different categories with these slightly different models. Now they need an unaltered street legal RX 😉
7lt fuel tank is too small . You can't ride bush with such a small tank . Seems like they are giving bikes less fuel range so an electric bikes charge range don't look so bad ?
Its what we call "Race Inspired".....All good for me, I think they realize KTM has been eating their lunch in the off road market and are stepping up. They just need to be "innovative" and lose 2 strokes and a 150 cc's on that engine.
I honestly don't mind carbs. I prefer the carbed 08 to any efi Honda by a long shot. Jet them correctly and you'll never notice a difference in throttle response and the are very cheap to maintain.
No big change since last century..Honda focus on other models,if not proken then why change..The Black color and new graphic give it some shine.. Now the new star is on the way The street legal version L..
That bike is a mockery of modern motorcycles, and this honda may very well be too. Any fast trail rider wouldnt spend a dime on that trash. Ktm and yamaha are the only ones pushing the envelope atm, so in conclusion, suzuki and honda finally came a few steps closer to building a competitive trail bike.
I rode 2 strokes the first 10 years of me riding. I won't ever go back to that herkey jerky crap. They're fun, but the appeal of 2 strokes is nostalgia, not overall performance. And no 4 strokes aren't much harder to work on; Very simple to rebuild, people are just clueless and you get much more ride time between rebuilds, 2 strokes are a good option for broke people who still want to ride though so there's that.
Sorry, it could be a great bike but it is awful, I prefer the older model, you've killed it completely, this tendency to join the tank's cover with the side cover it is awful!!!!! and black rings WTF....no way!!!
