I agree it's a design that is Miles Ahead of our grasp and the more you look at it in person the more crows on you it's simply a genius design and it's elegant sophisticated its aggressive and it's very very modern people just don't get it
I have a brand new Hyundai elantra sel and I absolutely enjoy the the whole car the technology the fuel economy I could just keep going on about how much bang you get for you buck good job Hyundai keep up the good work!!
I luv the new front end, as the old model's front end dipped too low, and was not at all aggressive or a balanced steady look. I love the triangular look, and the rear lamps make it more of a balanced connected body whole.
I don't know what everyone's bitchin about,...I luv this new design/refresh!!!!!...The front end incorporates Hyundai's new cascading grille, and luv the triangle lights/LEDs and to me everything looks very well integrated!...The rear is ok as well,...but I really like how they tweaked the interior which looks better and more premium IMO!!!!!...So overall I think they did a good job on the refresh and looking forward to the completely new design at some point in the future !!!!!
Yes, i think they done great job with rear and interior. But front will take sometime to get used to for most of people. But if you look at the car in person, it is not so bad. Thank you.
People can think all they want but I just bought this car and it actually looks great and it sure beats my old car which was a Toyota Corolla. I would like to see you negative people design something better
this car is pretty legendary. you can drive across the country with no problems as long as you keep up with all the maintenance items. i did some long distance drives like a champ.
I actually hated the old design which was why I bought a Honda instead do the ugly old Elantra. 4 years late I finally traded in the Honda for the Hyundai Elantra coz at least I can live with this design. Old one is ugly imo.
@@AsianPetrolhead I've been a fan of the veloster n and was gonna get it if the market didn't go so high for prices but when I heard the elantra got an n model, I couldn't be more excited. The 2021 design already looked phenomenal and the n just makes it look even more amazing. I rlly like the direction Hyundai took with the car
Very good review: polite, accurate, no nonsense. I like the looks of the old Elantra better. They took a friendly looking car and made it mean looking like the nasty Toyota monsters we see on the streets these days. Your automobile should look like a trusted friend, not like a cruel killing machine.
Thank you for your kind words. I mean the new front look take a little time to get used to. But i personally think it is better looking than Prius. Thank you.
Actually, I'm getting to like the grille. Here in Australia, only about one in ten Hyundai small cars is an Elantra, the rest being variations of the i30 hatch. I hope the '19 Elantra Sport has the 1.6Turbo with 201 horse power and maybe mated with a 7speed DCT or manual.
I got to see the facelifted Elantra earlier this week after work, and it looks better in the flesh. The thing that sucks about the Elantra for me is that unlike the Elantra GT, you can't get Apple Carplay/Android Auto with the Elantra SE M/T. :(
It doesn't look quite so bad in person, in darker colors. The grille is too busy, and the lower fascia looks like a snowplow. The dashboard looks like a doodle by a fourth-grader in detention, with the checkerboard gauges and half-chromed vents. The back isn't too bad. I was amused when you said they changed from direct injection for fuel efficiency; that's why they said they went to it in the first place, until people complained about having to have the valves cleaned.
I like this front end, at first i didnt like it but if has grown on me! Really like also details you talk about ! Merci beaucoup de la part d'un Québécois ( french part of Canada, in the West) I have a Chevrolet Spark 2016 Built in South Korea... I hope GM will continue to make this model!
The facelift will take a bit of getting used to but I think the design is good looking and the feature list is quite good. I love the tail lights and the way they integrate the button to open the trunk into the logo. It looks like it will also handle pretty decently for a non-sporty model. I enjoy the fact that Hyundai and KIA are making their cars quieter but some of their tire choices could be better or they can at least put some more insulation on the cars to lessen the road noise. Looking forward to seeing how the Sport version performs. Will you be doing a video on the Forte GT any time soon?
Thank you for your comment. Yes the trunk opener is same as Sonata’s. You push the upper part of the logo. Hyundai & Kia is getting better in terms of handling and insulation. Hope they have bigger picture with their design.
I do prefer the last design better in the front but I do really like the rear except the part that there are lights on the bumper instead of with the rest of the lights. That’s odd to me.
I bought a new 2018 white Value Edition two days ago... Love it. Much prefer the looks of this version vs the new 2019. I bought the 18 for precisely that reason - do NOT like or want the 19.
The new design is very good...but if always accelerate like him ,1 year later ,this CVT gear box will have many problem .No matter how its program, CVT still CVT.
i own the 2019 elantra value edition, i wasn't impressed with the body style very much but i didn't hate it. i just thought it was plain but a good bargain with 7k off sticker. to my surprise i have had a few people tell me they really liked the body style. no one has told me they dont like it. for the price you can get these for they are a great bargain. you can pick up the se for 12500 after rebates. thats w/power windows, locks, keyless entry, air, bluetooth, automatic. so far i really like the car for the price paid, drive train is very smooth, the ride is stable though i wish it were softer, there is some tire noise but not horrible. mpg is very good but about 3 to 4 mpg off what the computer states but still gets rated mpg. dont test drive one and believe what the computer says, i guarantee you its way off. i get about 39mpg on the hwy US. i had a couple minor rattles but i easily fixed them. i would never pay sticker price but with the huge discounts you get this is a great car and a great bargain.
Yes, but because of too many triangles this new Hyundai Elantra didn't sell so well, here in Korea. Thank you Nick. And if you love cars and car reviews, do consider subscribing to our channel, so you don't miss out in the future. Thank you.
@@AsianPetrolhead just subscribed! I recently bought this vehicle here in the United States and it’s an awesome ride. Looking forward to tinting the windows, putting some black rims on it, and getting a nice little spoiler attached; to just make this car go from good to great. Thanks for the review.
In my opinion, new front and back design is better than elantra 2017. I really like the led headlight, it is very nice and modern. I will buy this car when It come to Vietnam. Love elantra !
Finally. Thank you for this review. I am glad Hyundai decided to revert to MPi and ditch GDi for better reliability in the long run without the concern of carbon build up at intake valve side. Though I felt both interior and exterior are better looking than before, it just lacks of character. Very much like and miss the Elantra MD fluid design version 1 by Hyundai's truly Korean designer instead. Is just too bad. Due to ex Audi designer input some Audish DNA to the nose, it just doesn't work. New Corolla works very well in the design department. To the ex Audi designer of Hyundai, give Hyundai something original with character, ditch the audish DNA.
Thank you Mr. Polo for your comments. Yes, i mean i see designers and engineers working hard to improve the AD. Hope people start liking the front design. Thank you.
Wait I have a question. Why is it that this car in Korea has more features than here in the US. I saw ventilated seats, which isn’t an option here, and parking sensors. This is unfair.

Thank you the option list, it is unfortunate Hyundai omit some of option depending countries which they sell cars. But i guess it has to do with pricing and many other factors. Thank you.
Fyi I just moved to the US from Korea and was very surprised that parking sensors are not standard or at least in the upper trims even for the medium/small sized sedans. Maybe because parking is much easier/roomier here? As for ventilated seats, it’s usually an option for the top trim in sedans in Korea. Here, apparently not.
Nice review and nice looking car but I used the new accent with CVT unfortunately its annoying and drink so much fuel because of its transmission and low power also its electric wheel is not accurate.
I suspect whoever designed the US Elantra GT front end did this....the 2018 Elantra Sport is a beautiful front end but the rest of the hyundai lineup has some pretty bad ones throughout....hopefully they "refresh" with a new bumper....I'm ok with the headlights and the rest of the exterior....
No they will have Elantra Sport debuting this Nov. In Korea, Hyundai have introduced I30 n-line, today Which is you know filling the gap between the real N and regular i30. Thank you.
wow, yes. it does need some time. Hyundai will roll out brand new Hyundai Elantra early next year. Thank you for tuning in and please do support us by subscribing. Happy New Year.
Welcome Kapui. Trying to get hold of a testcar. We will try harder. We are editing Veloster N. So please do watch it when it comes out next week. Thank you.
Please I have avante ad 2019 private gasoline 1.6 smart auto facelift but check light appears for me and after examination I found code P0867F0 can you tell me how to fix it?
Well, it not extra long. And it has no extention. So if you are taller than me, you might find the thigh cushion a bit short. To be honest, i find seats from Tucson more comfortable. Thanks.
I had a 2007 Kia spectra. Car was great, very reliable and drove fine. But seat was too short for comfort. 1st thing I noticed when I sat in my 17 Elantra was a longer seat. I'm a little over 6.1. Much improved over the other seat. I'm comfortable now, though an extra half to one inch more would be perfect. But as is, I'm fine. I did mention the seat in an online review for Kia. Hyundai listened. I just turned 40.000 miles in the Elantra, been completely flawless. Very happy with it.
@@AsianPetrolhead sorry if I sounded too harsh. Now coming back to the reviews, can you please do a comparison video of 2019 Elantra against Kia Forte (Cerato)? And Tucson against Sportage?? Is that possible?
I do not like the front of new generation. People in Europe startet to like hyundai when it started to look more like designed in Europe. The 2019 model on the front went to look more like cheap Asian car again. Also Hyundai still has problem with interior made of hard plastik. When compare to Renault, Peugot, Opel they have more soft materials in interior already in C segment. D segment look almos like premium, Renault Talisman like premium, Hyundai i40 has hard plastics evryvhere. If Koreanians wpuld change it and keep more europeanian design they would sell more cars in Europe.
Bye bye toyota! Soon to be a new buyer of Hyundai, Kia or Genesis that offers best warranty on the market. However I don't like huge plastic on them. Go go Hyundai and KPOp
Well, i wouldn’t say ripped off. Companies give out different options at different price point. In Korea, we are offered it on the top trim. Thank you for tuning in.
@@AsianPetrolhead very I bought it thinking it will be like in your video .. no back vents no memory seats .. it have heated steering heated front an back seats
Is there anyway hyundai Korea could bring in Singapore avante19 / elantra19 NEW 17" inch rims? Coz the given 16" rims across all the specs (even the ELITE spec) is pure UGLY! Even Brazil and Vietnam is getting those new rims designs!
