INEX Bojangles' Summer Shootout
First Responder Night presented by Disconnect & Drive (Round 7 of 10)
Charlotte Motor Speedway
Concord, NC
Mark Green, Robby Faggart and Bubba Wallace compete in this round of the Bojangles' Summer Shootout which included seven divisions of WIX Filters Legend Car and Bandolero action. Mark Green in the #20 Legends Car won the 26 Acres Brewing Co Masters race with Faggart in the #12 coming in second (3:03). Mark Green (3:10) has numerous starts in the NASCAR Nationwide (Xfinity) Series between 1995 and 2011 and Faggart won the NASCAR (Sportsman Division) Igloo Sportsman Challenge championship in 1992. Faggart also has one non-points start with the NASCAR Winston (Monster Energy NASCAR) Cup Series which was in the 1996 Winston Select Open at Charlotte. Mark Green is also the brother of Jeff Green and David Green. Jeff Green has numerous starts in the NASCAR Sprint (Monster Energy NASCAR) Cup Series between 1991 and 2015, was the 2003 Daytona 500 polesitter and won the 2000 NASCAR Busch Grand National (Xfinity) Series championship. David Green is currently a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Official who also has many starts in the NASCAR Nextel (Monster Energy NASCAR) Cup Series between 1995 and 2004 (won a pole in 1999 at Homestead-Miami) and captured the NASCAR Busch Grand National (Xfinity) Series championship in 1994. Bubba Wallace, current driver of the #43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, finished 7th in the Boston Reid Real Estate Pro race with the #76 Legends Car (3:42).
Gracie Trotter in the #11 Legends Car flipped during the VP Racing Fuel Semi-Pro race (0:47). Sheriff Van Shaw of the Cabarrus County (NC) Sheriff's Office and Major Bobby Ledwell of the Concord (NC) Police Department competed in a Donut Burnout Contest. The winner then went up against Charlotte Motor Speedway's mascot Lug Nut. Major Ledwell beat Lug Nut taking the victory (2:35). Lug Nut (3:46) then later tried to take the green flag behind the field during the start of the Pro race, but Speedway Public Safety was in hot pursuit and was able to get him off the track (not seriously, but just for fun since it was First Responders Night). The Pro race also had an exciting finish with #97 Davis Rochester and #48 Carson Ferguson coming to the checkered flag side by side with Rochester coming out on top winning his first race of the season (4:24).
