The back seats recline and go fwd and backward, too. And being FWD-based, the trunk is enormous. Not sure why the reviewer said all Infinitis and Nissans use CVT's; this is not true. The new QX60, for example, does not. My QX50 simulates gear shift-shock really well, and you wouldn't know you're driving a CVT unless you're a race car driver and want to race. If you do, get a sports car.
My biggest gripe is the GPS. My garmin is better. Other than that the car is superb. I don't want a "drivers car", what I really wanted was a quiet highway cruiser. It's quiet, has incredibly comfortable seats with a superior sound system. Fuel economy is awesome and honestly the competition isn't really any better... I've tried them all. Infinity needs to improve the infotainment/gps, but other than that it a great car. Plus, it really does look good even standing still.
Gorgeous exterior and interior. I just got the majestic white 2020 QX50 Sensory FWD with Apple Car play and Android Auto and the interior finish is top notch. The CVT will take some getting use to specially coming from my previous car (2017 Q60 Red Sport), acceleration is slower in QX50 but has a smooth and quieter ride which I preferred to Q60 Red Sport stiffer ride. I'm not doing spirited driving, racing or taking this car to the track or bombing in the canyon road. I got this car because of the good deal I got from Infiniti with huge discount and incentives. The safety features of this car is really good and it drive itself and the looks. Infotainment looks dated, but not stopping my decision to get this car.
VERY good review! I have a Corvette channel and I am thinking of adding an SUV to my channel; this one is on my short list! Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing more content from you. I just subbed
Thanks for the review. I see that the panoramic sunroof is open all the way to the back, but when you hit the open button does it also slide all the way also or juts halfway?
Great review especially I just a got an Infiniti QX50 the top of the line today. I’m really having seconds thoughts since this is the first for the engine. I hope it’s not too slow. My last SUV was Infiniti QX70S and I really love this one. The only ugly thing was the gas mileage of 17-19 miles/gallon. Thank you again!
You have the best review of all that I have viewed. Very thorough and I forgot to mention it is the same color I bought. My son said it is a great car and it luxurious. He is 6’2 and there’s plenty of leg room. It really looks bigger inside compared to our QX70S. It does not look bulky. The sunroof is amazing. I don’t really care where the start button is. It can easily be bumped accidentally when reaching for your drinks. That’s the other ugly thing is the location of the drinks! But overall I love this car. I only drive Infinity! It’s a very dependable car! We have three now. Thank again. You’re GREAT!
I just got the 2022 Majestic White Essential trim. I love it so far. The only thing is the engine is loud when you accelerate. I prefer total quiet in my cabin, but I am an Infiniti guy (my last 4 were Infinitis), and I also had the QX70S. I much prefer this one over that! MUCH.
I’m torn between getting the QX50 or the Acura RDX. I don’t hate the QX50 infotainment system but compared to others it’s eh and apple car play isn’t a deal breaker. I have it now in my vw 2017 lease and I don’t even use it. I’m concerned for the CVT engine and how it’ll hold up in the long run. RDX I think is nice but the Infotainment system looks cluttered to me. I don’t know I’m very torn. Any opinions?
I leased a QX50 about three months ago, and today when I turned on the ignition, there was a steady, persistent whining sound until I turned it off. Tried to start again, and the whining didn't go away. Any thoughts?
Gray. I’m crazy about the comfortable seats and the quiet of the ride inside the vehicle. Reminds me of my Bose noise-cancelling. earphones. The smoothness of the ride is unremarkable, i.e. if the road’s bumpy, the ride is bumpy.
Had the same problem with my QX50...It turned out to be a fuel pump issue which my local INFINITI dealer replaced for free as the service member said that it was a common issue with the newer QX50s
When resting arm you can possibly hit gear box and gear box throws itself into neutral. Disconcerting...Happened in beginning but not anymore once I got accustomed to avoiding that
You give incorrect information claiming that ALL Nissans and Infiniti's come with CVTs. They do not. Besides the QX60 and QX50, all Infiniti's come with a 7-spd automatic. Most Nissans only come with CVTs but not all of them. I think you may have to press down and slide back that cover.
Thanks Dedrean for the correction. Seems like the lineup is mixed. As for the cover, I've tried and it was still hard to do. I heard there are instructions for it...for a simple slide cover? lol.
No problem. But yea, I did encounter the cover myself and felt it was hard to open as well but thought pushing it down first remedied it, but I could be recalling incorrectly. But if that's the worst thing on the car then I think it faired very well. lol.
I have the same problem with the cup holder cover ! So diffuclt to open . I also notice the AC sometimes is not timed correctly .. for a second or two it will not blow cold then go back to cold.
Test drove it today , they offer a lot for the money compared to say the Audi imho. Is it a race car , not hardly . Does my wife want a race car , well we looked at the Audi sq5 and although I loved it, she said meh. Seems like a really good all around vehicle , we shall see . Great reviews sir .
That hood over lapping the body panel is weird. It might have been a mistake and they just kept it. Heheh LOL and the cubby that's difficult to open, poor fit and finish. But for the price of the car, I can desl with it.
@@DriversOnly RDX loaded is $10K cheaper than the loaded Infiniti. The base QX50 doesn't even come with memory seats which should be standard in a car like this.
Hint: the adjustable height tailgate is NOT "unique" by any means. Lincoln has had that for years. Seems like anything coming from a foreign country is something super creative, luxurious and incredible. WTH??
