@@SafePlum3626 its far too difficult for a youtube comment to explain it, but ill try my best. Slipstream- all the teams wanted a tow from the other teams, but obviously, no one wants to lose out. So all the teams spent a huge chunk of Q3 in the garage until something like the last 2 minutes or so. Therefore no one reached the line in time to start their flying lap. Its more complicated than this i think, so its best to just wait for the investigation report to come on or an explanation on this yt channel.

back in day, like in 2011 you could use DRS at any point during the practice or quali during the lap, not just during designated drs zones. The DRS zone was only utilized for the races

Otherwise, if a driver doesn't have a toe like they did the lap before, they won't improve, the people behind them will though so they just promote the people behind them and fall down the grid themselves? For every driver except Albon, it was better to not set a time rather than be first in the line. And since Albon was at the back of the queue to begin with, he was not able to overtake quickly enough to get to the front. I don't understand why this makes any of them stupid. One of them had to take a bullet for the rest of them but why would anyone take the bullet? They have absolutely no reason to. And anyway if Albon was first in the queue, his time would have been awful compared to the people behind him getting a toe so he would have not even been ahead of Renault and possibly even Sainz and Stroll so even he would have been starting the exact same place he already did so even he had no reason to be in the front of the queue.

One press of the accelerator and in half a second the driver at the back could have gotten to the front. Any of them could have overtaken the pack on the outside of the first chicane. They are all equally responsible.

@@Chractor_ vettel had the pace to get pole, even without slipstream he was 1 and a half tenth behind pole that leclerc had big slipstream and both mercs had big slipstream aswell. So vettel wouldv easily went on to the 1.18's

NoxX they’re not there to set a time for the sake of setting a time. They want the best position possible, and the only way they do that is by not being the first in the line and that applied to everyone so why are you surprised that nobody wanted to be first in the line?
