trad is life. I have respect for all archers, it's not an easy sport to master, but there's something about traditional archery that is far for more captivating. I've only shot barebow my entire life, and I'm not an expert shot, by any means, so I have respect for those that do it well and on a competition level. Compound bows are cool and all, so is Olympic recurve, but going back to the roots is awesome.
@@cheeseburgerwalrus499 I also love traditional archery. I started with recurves, now my focus is only on Longbows with traditonal wooden arrows. Nothing's better than shooting it. Love it.
Way more interesting. All the stabilizers and accessories essentially take up the slack of the athlete. You don't put guide fins on an American football, or wall off sand traps in Golf, or attach guide cables to partially lift swimmers out of the water, so why should bows be accessorized?
Now this is interesting to watch. Way more interesting than the Oly style and barebow sighted (stringwalking). What's interesting is the fact that they have the string touch their face and it doesn't appear to cause any discomfort or pain during the release. Love instinctive archery hopefully tournaments like this become more widespread.
@@irzackihmj5259 That makes a lot more sense I forgot they are using a thumb ring. The string also wants to push to the right away from their face since they are holding the arrow on the right side instead of the left.
Trad horsebow 3finger archer here, the string also touches my face during archery but it doesn't hurt my fingers/face because I use a shallow release by holding the string only with my fingertips.
Great to finally see traditional archery in this platform ! Normaly never televised at any time such as this anyhow ! I'm a finger shooter myself but with compound in the FSL Class if the NFAA & also now soon trying at Bare bow class also ! GO ARCHERY !
Silau nya ...tapi pemanah bole aim dlm kawasan merah kedalam .. terbaik ...lagi best Klau pemanah dpt pakai pakaian tradisional memasing ..apa² pun terbaik laaa Malaysia ... tahniah 👍👍👍
This is what archery should be. And bring back those 120 lbs war bow championship. Compound archery looks like visor aiming competition. No draw strenght whatsoever.
Pretty sure it's a 60 cm face. At least that's what instinctive and longbow archers shoot at under most WA associations' rules, and judging by how their arrows impact I'd say this is the same.
That's weird I searched for archery competition all over RU-vid and this video is the only one that popped up. Otherwise yt recommended weird videos with guys shooting weird thing that looked like bows
First shooter. Must be very annoying to have glasses push the bowstring to the side on every shot! Imagine not being able to change to contacts because it would mess with your anchor.
Yea, I used to shoot with glasses but I don't like the anxiety that it would getting hit by the string every time I shoot although it would be very unlikely. Luckily I am only -1.25 so I could just ditch the glasses and go slightly blurry instead.
Really wanna know how they aim with the thumb draw! I can just gap shoot with the arrows on the holding arm side but to the other side, it became difficult as I don't see my arrowhead! Likely they use other parts of the bow for point of reference?
They just stare straight at the Target and it goes that direction you have to have the properly spined arrows which would be different than the ones you use for med. This all comes from the fact that a real warbow is real heavy like around 80 90 lb. there's no way that you could concentrate you just have to shoot instinctive but that turned into shooting targets that way with lighter bows.
@@ZOMBIE-3-PIN Ye I've figured that much! That's all I did too! However those warbows of 80 90 pounds, just because they are heavy doesn't mean they are efficient though, especially English longbow compared to a lighter and shorter recurve! And you would put the arrow on the holding arm side so it would fly better with the right release!
@@domovoibutler42 I agree especially my kassai bows. They are not very efficient however they are durable and will last along time. The laminated fast bows can delaminate and stuff.
