The Mercedes infotainment is fine, it is really not difficult at all to use after playing with it for a few minutes. Really don't understand why people complain about this. Its keeps your eyes on the road more because you don't have to be looking at the screen to find what you want to touch (like on a touchscreen). I have a C300 before you say I don't know what I'm talking about.
Don't like the ugly 'wart/growth' around the rear number plate though ... that is only on the US version. European versions look better at the back because of that. Check it out!
Jesper Danielsson 1. It’s annoying to have your engine randomly shut off. 2. It puts extra wear and tear on the starter and starting system (battery, etc). 3. Turbocharged engines should ALWAYS be allowed to cool down for minimum 30 seconds up to around 2 minutes at idle before shutting down. Failure to do so can cause coked oil buildup inside the turbo which will lead to oil consumption and can damage the turbo over time.
People love to tell you about Mercedes lack of reliability but as a 3D time owner, all I can say is they last very well. If you find Mercedes unreliable I suggest you try BMWs for a change then you can really learn about unreliability. But, less power and torque from the new 6 cylinder compared to the current 550 means no deal from me. Put in the new 560 motor and we’ll talk but until then, why would I pay money to downgrade? Does Mercedes really think the buyers of these cars prefer economy over performance? If so they are delusional.
Definition of Coupe: Fixed roof and two doors. Slanting the back of a 4 door sedan doesn't magically make it a coupe. It's a damn sedan. If a sales person asked me if i wanted to check out the "coupe" & showed me a 4 door, i'd probably slap them upside the head and ask them to go away. i like the styling and just about everything about this car except the bold face lie of calling it a coupe.
Maui Chris - that's why they're called 4 door coupes. Times change, new products come out, definitions therefore change - keep up with it. What would you call them? (At least Audi calls theirs sportbacks. Is that better for you?)
a 4 door is a sedan, not a coupe, that's not new. we've been using coupe & sedan to define what a 2 door & what a 4 door car are for decades. this is nothing more than silly wanna be marketing. i'd call them what they are, a sedan.
@@crimson49er It is actually a Saloon not a Sedan :) .... In the UK anyway! You are right that it is not a Coupe though .... still getting a new one in a couple of months though! BTW a Sedan was an enclosed chair carried on poles by 2 chaps.... :) But then a Saloon was a main living room in a house or the posh bar in a pub - so what do we know :)
Damn I hate all these bullshit tech in cars today!!!!!!!!! How did we drive 20-25 years ago???? well, by actually driving the car, paying attention to what we were doing and taking responsibility of our actions instead of blaming the technology for letting it drive and manage the car for us, give us feedback on traffic around the car and telling us when to have a coffee brake. Can you see how idiotic that would have been 20-25 years ago?!?!?!?!?! We're so doomed, don't be surprised when (not if) Terminator actually happens!!!
I pity the broke ass used car buying fools owning this 10 years from now and the small independent shops that will be trying to work on these German Nightmares. P.S: HURRAY for the comeback of the I-6. Good work, Mr. Mike !
Just don't like that tail with the sloping roof. I also don't like the steering wheel controls, too blingy. They need to tone it down a bit but it does look nice. Much rather get the BMW 5-series though, much sexier, just hate they don't offer Android Auto and nickel and dime you by charging for Apple Carplay.
Too bad the US only get a 4 seater while Europe get a 5 passenger. 0-6 in 4.5 seconds and cramped headroom in the second row. Beautiful car but not quite big enough. Pricing should start around 80k.
6 cylinders are best engines, both in V and inline. They have much less drag and less overall loss and almost less than 4 cyl engines. However, the most efficient engines are half of 6 cylinders= 3 cyl engines.
Especially the facelift 2015-2018 models with the P2 option. Gorgeous front headlights. The ordinal model had a great shape but those droopy eye front headlights are a drawback. I have a 2015 CLS400 I bought certified earlier this year. I get so many compliments on it.
Why does Mercedes-Benz keep shirking away from touchscreen technology? It's very practical, and ease of use is high. Can't afford one, buy love the design, mechanical and technology in 'em.
