This is a beautiful suv . The gle looks nice . Not sure if I want gle 450 or gls 450 . But that self driving and lane keep assist was awesome. Thanks you for test driving in real traffic highway not just around parking lot like some do.

If you drive a lot in the narrow city streets, GLE might be a bit better to drive around. It works great, I trust this system

I know I am late to this party, but THANK YOU for this video. I have been looking for a video like this to show the distronic and driving assist package. I love this feature. It looks incredible. I just custom ordered the 2020 GLE 450. I won't receive it until April though (can't wait). What city did you test drive it in? I am in New York City. Sine you made this video, have you tried the automatic driving package again? Do you still think it is good? Thanks for the video (and yes I am a subscriber).

Thank you very much! And congrats to your order! I filmed this near my city Kosice in Slovakia. I've tried it on several Mercedes and AMG vehicles. It works excellent, I kind of regret I didn't get it for my 2020 Mercedes A-Class, at least the Distronic. It's super convenient for traffic jams!

For me this technology is not yet efficient, needs further improvements/developments to be fully reliable. The proof is that you need to touch the steering every 20 seconds. At least the lane keeping system seems more efficient that on my Velar, it is just a nightmare, the car goes from left to right each time it approaches the line. I think I will go for the coupe, but not yet decided about hybrid or 400d...I tried the hybrid, but I did not have good sensation. It’s heavy and not so exiting like driving my Velar (700 NW couple). I need to test the 400d next time. Tx for the video

It was slowing down on the curve because it knew the curve was coming so for safety reason (the upcoming curve) it did lower the speed, just FYI. Part of the system. It is called route based speed adaptation.

Does it automatically change its axils for 4matic? Or do you have to change it manually?

4matic is managed automatically, also in the G-Class, but there you can change differential locks manually

Beautiful car but wow Distronic looks really bad. Multiple times it was about to drive you into the side barrier, it felt incredibly unsafe and wonky already in the first 20 seconds you turned it on and the rest of the trip compared to Tesla's Autopilot.
