Thank you! I'd hoped to have more uploads this year, but due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our March Break and summer travel plans. We'll be back traveling and filming our adventures as soon as it's safe to do so.
What a great video! Such a pleasure to watch you and your family explore the sights. I'll be heading there in a few weeks as part of a backpacking tour, so your video was helpful.

You look Canadian Hopefully you visit us again, you missed lot of sights ; the blue city, Ouzoud waterfall, and the oldest city in Morocco Fez Fez has the oldest university in the world founded in 859 and more than 9000 streets
@@CarrieCook This is truly one of the best videos I've seen - loved how you put it all together. Did you do yourself or have some help? Was curious how much was shot on the Canon vs. Hero7 and Iphone? Great great footage! I have a big Nikon. Did you take still photos as well? Did people not like / were ok with you taking photos? Or video. Thank you for sharing - really wonderful - First Morrocco video I've felt that showed where . how etc. Who was the guide for Desert drive and desert tour? Thanks
@@tonysargent2302 Thank you! To answer your questions: I did this myself. I'd say it was mostly shot on the Canon. I used the GoPro for hiking, camel riding, time lapses, some of the walking around Marrakech - the parts with better stabilization were shot on the GoPro. There are only a few iphone clips mixed in, but a phone does provide a decent quality shot and sometimes it's just easier to grab and use that! I did take still photos as well. I was careful about where I took photos/videos, and who I took them of. You'll be expected to tip if you shoot in Marrakech, especially in the square. I think the only time I was asked not to record anything was at a leather production facility where a room full of women were sewing bags, pouffes etc. I probably recorded less footage of people on this trip than I normally would, because I too had heard that Moroccan culture is generally less accepting of photography than many others - having said that - I was happy with what footage I got, and that the people I was able to film seemed agreeable to it. We hired our driver through Marrakech Tours Specialist. We put the itinerary together ourselves and hired him as a driver - however they will build an itinerary for you if that's what you prefer. Hope that helps!
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed your visit in Morocco. Although with all your street wisdom and haggling. You still got ripped off but in my opinion when I visit I’ve experienced it too but I let it slide... because I want to support these poor people.. just cause you saved a few bucks you focused on the wrong beauty
Hey Carrie , wow , Thank you so much for sharring this amazing Vlog with us , I really enjoyed watching your trip , looks you had such a memorable moments , Still more to see and explore , Hopefully to see you one day soon back !
It's a very nice vlog - vivid and funny too.. never a drag. How did you do all the reservations and get the driver/guide for the trip from Marrakech and back? Can you post the details - I'm planning a Egypt -> Morocco -> Athens in 2020 and would follow your Morocco itinerary.
Thank you! We hired our driver through Marrakech Tours Specialist - marrakech-tours-specialist.com/en/. We planned our own itinerary, though they will perform that service for you if you'd like. We just looked at the total distance for the trip and broke it down into manageable chunks of driving time - that determined where we would stop overnight, and then we searched Trip Advisor for accommodations in those areas that looked interesting. We also planned most of the stops and activities along the way, though our driver was able to make those suggestions, too.
@@CarrieCook Very helpful. Morocco is in my bucket list and this is a wholesome experience. I mostly see videos of just Marrakech from RU-vidrs but I would love the whole experience including the dessert safari, hiking and rock climbing. Thanks again

Very interesting & most probably very memorable family vacation!! Is there any way you can share your détailled itinerary and contacts to plan a family trip of our own? Thank you soooo much if possible.
The place we stayed was called Desert Luxury Camp. We arranged our own transportation to and from the camp, though they will book a full tour for you if you wish. There are many tented camps with similar names, so if you are interested in that one, be sure to search for it specifically. Good luck!

Wow. This Vlog is so beautiful made me feel like I was part of you... we actually have been talking of Morocco with some of my friends.. on estimation how much was it? ( tour guide, transportation and accomodation including those sand slides activities). Eish hope this pandemic pass soon.
On average, we paid about $175 US per night for accommodations (Desert Luxury Camp excluded), which included accommodations for 4 and half board (dinner and breakfast). Our driver and vehicle was 150 euros per night. Desert Luxury Camp is an all-inclusive property; our rate there included the sand boarding and camel excursion. I would say travel in Morocco is very good value compared to what we are accustomed to paying in North America. Hope that helps!
