You saw 2 of the best older filly and mares slug it out down the stretch in a race that did not deserve a loser. Midnight Bisou and Elate in a Personal Ensign for the ages.
I was there, and had Midnight Bisou on top of all my wagers. When they passed me on the stretch i was worried. Elate looked to have it, but Midnight Bisou clipped her with that tongue out like Jordan. I Joked with the guy sitting next to me "Did she win by a Tongue?" Will never forget it. If you ever have the chance go to Saratoga Do it! Especially on Travers Day
Great race. But Midnight Bisou--or Mike Smith aboard her--have a bad habit of getting a LITTLE too far behind and barely getting there at the end. Cost her the Saudi Cup and Breeders Cup. Should be fixable?
This is the question now people any input. If Monomoy girl races and wins like they said she’ll race 1 time leading up to the breeders cup ladies classic to defend her title (she worked 4f last week) and gurana wins at parx in the cotillion and heads to the ladies classic and they all meet between elate, midnight bisou, gurana, and Monomoy girl. Who u got your money on? Tough decision and all are top class horses
Matthew Sanchez Midnight Bisou because she’s dominated all year. Elate would be her only real threat I think because Monomoy Girl hasn’t raced at all this year yet and Guarana hasn’t really had much competition aside from Serengeti Empress in her races. It’d be her first time racing against real competition.
Montana Mountaingarden I agree but there’s a lot of factors involved , fast pace , slow pace . Everybody thrive in their own elements but will be interesting to see all those matchups. May the best horse win is all I want . But with guarana she might be tested yet but sky is the limit with her, maybe a horse for next year If she can’t get it done now
Montana Mountaingarden that says a lot too and I think this year’s crop of fillies ain’t much on last year’s crop because u ain’t really got a stand out , yeah serengitti empress won and ain’t too much of a big deal (which in my option would be hell of a sprinter) (not a distance horse) but guarana got all the things pointing in the right way.. look what arrogate did in a short span he peaked at the right time but didn’t have to much to offer after , not saying that’s going to happen to her but u never know until it’s race time.. see what champions are made of
