@@faris.R56 The revised version looks like a quality car for the orice, similar to Toyota Yaris, Hyundai i10, to be and Suzuki celaro. It has a sharp design particularly at the back. Interior is very well organised and smart. A perfect city car.
Actually proton perform superb on the highway. So so so much better than myvi. Plus this is so much more solid than the plastic myvi. I was really impressed after testing protons

I'm using previous generation Myvi 1.5. It feels light but do I sense it isn't safe and not solid. On this aspect, I love Iriz. Kudos to Proton and Geely partnership
My concern is on petrol consumption. Based on what I hear, Iriz consumes more petrol than Myvi. I'm concerned by that because for me my Myvi consumes like hell. How about Iriz?
I would say this is the best automotive RU-vid channel in the country in terms of video quality and review simplicity yet very informative...but maybe more frequent uploads on more 'rakyat friendly' car would be nice 😁

I have tested both famous hatchback in Malaysia; the infamous Myvi and the low-profile Iriz. And to be honest, I don’t really love the lightness of Myvi, I don’t feel as secure as when I test-drived Iriz. Although I really loved the overall exterior design and the interior space of Myvi, I’d rather have a comfortable drive with Iriz. Still waiting for my Iriz tho. The half-cooked so-called ‘lockdown’ is killing my patience
There's always difference when you compare proton to perodua, if you need a comfortable drive with much better handling in a premium style , then proton is for you , but if you need some safety requirements to be done with the most concerned fuil consumption ability, perodua is for you
Other than the iRiz, the editing and presentation by you guys are improving very well after each upload. Better rolling shot, clear audio and love that minor info about what proton had add and removed which wasn't shown clearly by the sales gallery i went before. Keep on evolving proton and autobuzz!

Yeap that's the only "if..." I can find on the FL Iriz. But the previous 1.6 manual iriz had terrible sales figure so it's unlikely for proton to do so.
@@ZtuneR97 almost every car makers ditch the manual and give a way to automatic transmission to take over because of less buyer. The demand is there, but nobody buys it.
I've always liked the Iriz. Great ride and handling for what it is. (Sure the more expensive B segment cars can offer just as well or even better, but remember, this car is under 60k) Although we can all agree that the drivetrain from the early models are seriously what's holding the car back. I've driven a few of these, the overall engine response especially at low speeds, it felt pretty disconnected. (Imagine this alright, let's say you're driving on a flat road for like 15-20kmh. And then you come across a minor incline. So I apply abit more pressure to the gas pedal to overcome the incline. But the engine took like a second or two before it actually responds. And it doesn't do it smoothly either, and then letting go of the throttle, the engine just disengages roughly.) 2019 model year though. I've got the chance to go for a quick run in a Persona, no high speed runs for this one so I can't give my full opinion yet, my main interest is how it does at low speeds. And I'd say they've done a better job with the CVT. The disconnected feeling between the throttle and overall powertrain, isn't there anymore. It drives smoother overall. Also to be honest, when the 2019 Iriz first came out, I didn't really like the design. But it slowly grew on me and now I think it does look better than the prefacelift Irizes. Overall proportions to the car looks more balanced(Where the prefacelift, it's rear end looked like it was pretty fat.)

Eventho I owm the first batch Iriz... I must said that I satisfied enough with the Iriz and the ride quality. I'm pretty sure this iriz will be more enjoying to drive as it now much quiter than before 1.6CVT
@@121jgw i think its good... Even my dad Saga FLX already 7 years and still working good. I recommended change the cvt oil every 30k km... And change the whole filter and oil for the next 30k km
@@faris.R56 That's very good to hear. Im planning to buy Persona, just not sure about the reliability of the CVT, even to the point of thinking to buy the manual. Some get the CVT ok. A minority group of people not so lucky I guess. Now with the retuned CVT by Geely, it should be even better and more reliable I hope. Statistically, I think the CVT is reliable, otherwise Proton + Geely would not have kept it in the Persona. For the upcoming Saga's CVT getting replaced with 4AT, its more of making the car cheaper to run and maintain I guess. Hope if I indeed buy a Punch CVT Proton it will last long like yours without issues.

Add on to the previous comment. It was a CLUTCH-BASED CVT. So it will have that first contact feel from standstill or when the speed is too slow that the clutch need to open.

For me the wind noise is acceptable at this price range but i do suspect the tyre noise is quite intrusive.. Should change to a better tyre might lower down the tyre noise

I rather take torque converter based CVT on Honda than ancient 4AT. Pandulaju.com.my already done drag race comparison between new Iriz and Myvi G3, the 4AT on Myvi is holding it back at mid range acceleration while Iriz's Punch CVT while sluggish at low range, accelerate very quick at mid to high range.
Persona premium 2017 owner & it has so many weird.noises. Dashboard rattles in cabin & suspension knocking. SC failed to resolved despite being sending since 2017 till todate. Dissapointed to the fullest
Try going to other SC. They all know the common prob of persona/iriz cabin which is the rattling noise. U just have to find the exact location of sound to fix it. I am a persona premium 2019owner btw n faced the same exact prob. Rattling noise at center console plastics.
Tough choice. Depends on whether you want boot space + save money (Saga) or better driving experience + safety (Iriz). Looks are subjective, i think both look good.
2019 Iriz is so good EXCEPT for that eyebrow "bow". Idk it doesn't work for me especially Myvi 2018 looks wayy better. But it works on Persona, so why Proton?
Anyone can share anything about the fuel efficiency? Proton despite its good handling has always been known for their bad fuel efficiency. Wondering whats it like for this.
The fuel efficiency not that bad and certainly improved from previous models.. the recent 1 tank adventure by proton proved it that you can drive 630km on 1 tank withoun going super crazy fuel saving measures. 80-100kmh,aircond still turned on..
@@godfreya.1599 I wonder how it'll be as time passes. How far will the fuel efficiency deteriorate. My family used to have an exora and driving that car to me was harsh on the fuel. Drinks petrol like crazy
@@Stephen90s My family own an exora too. i agree about the crazy FC but my myvi 1.5 doesn't fare much better number either 13km/l on myvi and 11km/l. P.S: my dad is a tad lightfooted im a bit heavy footed but i rarely exceed 4k rpm. As time flies by i do notice the FC had worsen but not by a margain on both car.

Yes. There's few updates on the Persona model and it can only be seen on the Premium variant. Changes are: 1. Sportrim (Flowery-ish design) 2. Better response headunit touchscreen (toggle is on the left, the 2016 edition is on the right) 3. More responsive CVT.(But of course the 2019 is a lot better)
Vast improvement. I test drove both with NVH as one of my top 3 criteria. Result: Iriz is wayyy quieter than Myvi. Myvi can hear all kinds of road noise and traffic noise, insulation done poorly
