FCA reliability truly scares me but the Ram trucks are super nice I drove a lot of them working for a used car dealership and I always liked how they drove when they worked.

@@bigbossman5969 yes they all do. But dodge lovers continue to turn a blind eye showing that FCA cars are often likely to be on the bottom of the charts for consumer reports and JD power rankings for reliability and sometimes performance too. Past 10 years have had way more issues than ford or GM

@@Bubby91 i never believe in those consumer reports because who and were do they get there information. there are so many variables. i know plenty of people that have owned Chrysler products and haven't had any more problems than any one else. all manufacturers make a certain amount of bad products. ford and gm have had just as many bad vehicles over the years also.

@@bigbossman5969 well you dont have to believe the reports. There's enough videos of bad cam and lifter 5k dealership repair jobs on RU-vid. Plus other searches show that FCA seems to really cheap out on quality control/parts. I stand firm even seeing what has happened to local challengers/chargers/avengers etc etc over time, and even on low mileage. Are this years 2019 models finally better?? I dont know but the past 10 years have been a disaster. It was even a shocker how many times my buddies Dart was in the shop only a year old and had transmission problems. But that whole car was a failure.

@@Bubby91 well welcome to the real world it ant just Chrysler with problems. u want me to go down the list like ford with those trition engines with bad heards and spark plugs popping out and other problems the eco boost engine a million problems with those. o and don't leave out over the years all the bad transmissions ford made and the list goes on and on we don't want to mention gm there lists go on and on 2

I dont think so a 5.7 in a challenger is tuned different than a rebel though.

FCA doesn't have a non hemi 5.7. Hearing and tuning varies between the different platforms based of the transmissions and differentials. But all make it in the ballpark of 400hp

There the same but the challenger / charger 5.7 is tuned for speed while this 5.7 is more tuned for towing but trust me when I tell u this truck will definetly leave most normal cars in the dust

so how soon will this hemi develop the ticking sound i constantly hear when i idle next to one at a red light? What the hell is that sound?

In my experience working in the service department at a Ram dealership, the ticking noise is usually a broken exhaust manifold stud. But it can also be a cam and lifters failing. That's a relatively common problem with the 5.7 and 6.4 hemi.

@@ramrider1453 every brand has issues as well as good and bad engines, but consumer reports and online ranking profiles show dodge and Hemi reliability as dirt bottom. So that's enough said. Only thing I would consider is a cummins because it's not made by the company.

Ryan B sorry but disagree with your statement about Hemi itself. Recheck reviews. For reliability on Dodge or Chrysler products yes. There has been reviews and statements. Also statements on Ford and GM. The progress and reliability with Ram has greatly improved. Tough part is to prove its worth. Over seas competitors have done this and hold the best products. Big three still need to catch up and starting to. I had all three trucks and as of now Ram has stepped it up big time.

@@ramrider1453 perhaps, but until I see better reports I just think it's a poor decision especially once out of warranty. I remember the guy who bought a dart brand new, it seemed like it was always in the shop until he ditched it. And that was a fairly recent model year just 4 or 5 years back. I never saw that with a ford or GM car as of late, have that many issues until the model was pulled.

I will never understand why people who aren't farmers, don't live on the countryside, don't work construction, don't regularly tow, don't move or haul stuff around, need this car. Or want it for that matter. I'm assuming that a lot of customers are men living in or around urban areas, such as cities and suburban areas, and they use these big trucks to drive to and from work, alone. Why? I'm a libertarian and I want everyone to be free to do what they want and buy what they want. But it just doesn't make any sense to me why so many people buy trucks.

What people want isn't for you to understand. People want what they want. For many, trucks offer more practicality. For others, it's simply a statement. You either understand or you don't. As for need, it's a funny word. In the end, we don't really need trucks anymore than any other modern convinces. You could walk to work. That's how humans survived for thousands of years, but who needs or wants to do that?

Own a truck and find out. Trucks are necessary for work, but even if you don't "need" one, you easily can find use for trucks. People buy trucks because they are more practice and, believe it or not, they actually have lower overall ownership costs thanks to better resale value.

some of the luxury trimmed trucks can be decked out and had for 55k, they hold their value better than luxury cars and have way more utility. What exactly can you get for 55k in a luxury car, an entry level 5 series?
