2019 Ram Factory Bed Light Installation 

Wish ram wasn't so cheap and actually installed lights and a liner with all models

For the life of me I cannot understand why they were not included on my Rebel. With a sticker over $60k how the hell do you justify leaving that out? So disappointing. My previous Sierra had them and they really came in handy camping and tailgating. I don't want to tear up a brand new, expensive truck, to put them in. Dumb. Very dumb.

Some guy’s will figure out a battery powered led light matching the OEM size and shape but avoiding all the wiring hassle.

All this for lights smh. You spend $50-60k for a truck and they can’t even at least prewire...some stuff should just be included like this.

Looks like you can see the white paint on the passenger side. Looks like the light doesn't cover the whole area that the previous cover did. Looks nice though.

Question. My light kit is item# 82215272AC 001 and I just noticed on your video yours is 82215272 AB 001. Did I get the wrong item?

The Light Kit should have came with a Genie Software Flash Module. Mine did. Installed the lights, stuck the Genie in the mod port under the dash, followed the instructions, lights work just fine. Also installed the OEM Electric Trailer Brake switch. Same type install without a single issue.

Do a RU-vid search there is a different location to pin the wires to so you don't need the reflash

Question . 2023 larimi is what i have.. shouldn’t it be pre wired behind the rubber cap in the bed? For 70k id figure when i remove my caps there should be a wire harness to plug into??

Glad mine came with these lights installed. But I plan on finding a way to tie in to the pre ran lines for more lighting in the bed.

Yeah there's another YTber that connects it differently so you dont need to flash it.

If I do this myself like you did, would it void the warranty on my new truck?

@hammerdownmotorsportsusa Great job on the video!! You have undoubtedly helped many other Ram owners taking on this install themselves! Question for ya.. I've been reading that pins 5 & 16 from under the dash both have pre existing wires that travel along the frame to the wiring harness connection (XY670A) shown at 3:42 - 3:47 in your video. Are you able to confirm if this is true? If so, I think I should be able to just add the two pinned wires from the Mopar Kit into the empty pin slots at the rear side of that XY670A harness near the rear driver's side tire rather than running that kit's wire the length of the truck and through the firewall. I'd just have to shorten and re-pin those two wires, or Coil it and zip tie it up and out of the way of any heat/pinch hazards.

Seems like a lot of work can't you just tap them into the existing bed light up above near the third brake light

2022 2500.. there is another box in the way of the plugs and what a PITA. The G (blue connector) with pin 16 wasn't too difficult, but the F connector was a nightmare to get off/on.. Thank god for small hands. I also didn't need to use the fuse panel connection 17.. The lights work fine after tapping into G16 and F6 (which kind of tells me there is probably a plug in the back somewhere I didn't find and didn't need to do any of that, but now I have some new intel for future add-ons.

If you saved your cover plugs for the lights, could you give me the part number? I’m going to use it make a template to cut holes in my 2014. Thx

My dealer installed them in my 2020 Rebel and now the backup camera doesn’t work. Any ideas why?

Just did this install, my instructions pictures had the correct location for wires. Bed lights don't work but the switch on the light will turn off the upper cargo light, guess I'll be going to the dealer.

are all these steps the same for a 2020 ram 1500 crew shortbed (no toolbox)???

Missing how to wire it in the plug in the front...In my case I have to remove a wire to install mine...

Yeah , nothings simple nowadays. Luckily my Ram already had them in from factory. But not nearly enough light so I tided 2 stands of lights on each side up in the rails so you cant really see them plus if I didn't 't you'd get blinded at night they are so bright.
