Thank you for these videos on this bike. They have officially made me realize how horrible they are. Especially for those of us who don't know how to work on bikes in this kind of depth. I can't imagine having to constantly rejet the carb at different altitudes while driving here in the mountains. What a pain.
I like your sense of humor. You are very entertaining. Great content. You could do well at voice over productions. The "nuts, nuts, nuts, nuts, nuts, was funny af. 😂
My hawk works great all I needed to do was adjust the carb screw on the outside didn't have to mess with inner jets I also put a nibbi cold air intake on and I didn't need to do any adjusting
Changing to a pod filter will throw off any previous jetting you've done, and then you'd have to re-jet. I have a 2015 tmec200 supermoto with a lifan 163fml (pushrod) 200cc which is pretty much a hawk with less power and I will admit jetting the mikuni clone took me a week or so but once I finally got it dialed in she screams throughout the whole powerband. Your bike seemed way too rich, because when you tried to open her up she started choking and coughing like the lungs of a heavy smoker. The symptom for too lean would be extremely high engine/exhaust temps at idle and the bike would die instantly when you try and give it throttle.
Love the videos. I am hoping to be able to afford one of these by next summer. I am sure this would be better than walking. Your videos are informational and funny. Thank You!!!
i just got mine 3 weeks ago, 2 new tires for dual use, on and off road, and new carb for 35 dollars and stronger chain, and these bikes are shipped with almost NO oil in the motor, the factory carb runs way to lean and over heats the motor, thats why he had a plug wire melting and the motor was almost out of oil i think, i dont thing he ever checked the oil, and you must adjust the chain before driving it, they are all shipped way to tight
Like the video 🙂 I have a 2016 with an awesome 10.5 BHP and 16.5 torque and 0-60 in 17.3 sec. and top speed of 63 mph going downhill with back wind of 30 mph, but understood I would have to rebuild it with Japanese parts like the Honda 250 already has, so why buy you ask? The experience and had fun in the process. Oh, the price of $1,200 had something to do with it also. LOL #CHEAPMISER I've got $1,750.00 total in it now and waiting on my FRONT AND BACK MASTER CYLINDERS to arrive, as I screamed RUN AWAY BIKE as I casually rolled thru a major intersection. Yes they both went out at the same time so of course I played the Lotto but no win 😞China almost got me, so BUYER BEWARE of your MASTER CYLINDERS which apparently need changing out every 6 years. I hope this helps. Be safe and blessings
See the Project Farm RU-vid video about air filters. For oil, I like half Valvoline regular 10w-40 motorcycle oil and half Valvoline full synthetic 20w-50 motorcycle oil, for clutch firmness and shifting smoothness.
@@tonycstech Project Farm also tested a very crazy oil mix, not my 2 from the same company. He also did a competition for car oils, with AmsOil and Pennzoil the top 2, and Amazon full synthetic his winner for quality and price. I would not worry about a SF rated oil- it is just an older version of the SN now, more important to use an oil designed for wet motorcycle clutches. A lot of people used to use Rotella 5 or 15w-40 diesel engine oil for motorcycle use, however the newest formula is probably more of a risk for a wet oiled clutch.
Project Farm is wildly overrated. The only reason his channel got big is because he bought his subs when he started. A LOT of them. No one gets over 24,000 new subs in two weeks after starting a new channel with a wd-40 vid.
I watched all 3 videos about this bike and decided NOPE. I'm sure that all of them aren't as bad as yours was. LOL ! I love to tinker, and have all the tools you showed, but I'd rather have you do it because your experienced now. I subscribed because I laughed at everyone of your videos. Informative, and funny. Great combination. Thank you,
Has your stator took a crap yet? I think they picked the one up of the floor someone kicked under a machine and got soaked in Coolent and then threw it on my bike. Yeah I assembled the bike and then 65 miles later we are left with a shit battery and stator😁
did you fill up the motor oil first? they come almost no engine oil, and the factory carb runs way to lean, causing the motor to over heat, the motor will hit 600 degrees if you dont get the upgraded carb,
but did you put oil in the motor, they come almost empty. OMG yes it has a oil filter, you never drained out the tiny factory oil to find the filter is inside the drain plug on the spring, OMG hope the motor will be OK. and the upgraded carb will solve the lean running idle problem and the over heating problem,
Hi working on hawk 250 for a freind having the same issue with bogging and stuttering after quarter throttle till it hits full throttle just got a makuni still same issue can u tell how u tuned the carb thanks gene
