Just did this on my 21. Hardly noticeable unless it’s a cold start, I tapped up the resonators on the exhaust pipes and now it sounded like what a borla should!
I did this set up on my 2020 silverado RST 5.3L on Friday. It was just a muffler swap (with flapper valve cut out). At first i was disappointed wiht the sound. The cold crank was the only part that sounded like I had a new muffler. On Saturday, I used high temp aluminum tape and taped all the resonator screens (all 6). It now sounds what i expected it to sound like.
Bro thank you so much for this video. I wanted to do this because it’s simple and gives the truck the right tone. Not too loud but let’s you know you have a V8. Did you remove the flapper valve also? I’m ordering this muffler now!!!
I might do this with mine. I tried the GM Performance full cat-back system and it was just too deep and loud in the cabin. Wound up putting the stock exhaust back on.
So true . I havent done an exhuast but I put kilmat in the hole truck and quilt backing. Now I dont have to turn the radio when I'm on the hwy or hear the gravel in my driveway. There is literally no sound deadening in the roof and back wall and pillars. I took me about 20 hrs to take all the trim out the truck in a crew cab cut and roll the sound deadening material and put it back. It is well worth it.
Kevin James yeah I just replaced my entire floor in my el Camino and undercoated in and out. And then I used Kilmat as well around the whole inside. Good stuff!
Sound is Great! I would consider the Pro XS if i wasn't leasing my 2019 because it is the most practical option cost wise. I just really don't want to cut into the factory exhaust if you do end up trading it up at the end of the term. i have been trying to decide between the Full catback systems in touring and S type. If you had to compare the pro xs to them both, which would you say the sound is closer to? not sure i want to be as loud as the s Type but, really dont know if the touring is going to satisfy.
I do lease return inspections. Depends on the finance company wear and tear guidelines it may not matter, especially when you get an inspector like me. I let all custom exhaust go
As a matter of fact one of my customers had a borla exhaust on his S4, he told me he went to school with the son of the guy who started borla. He told me to reach out when I’m ready to get my exhaust done on my engine swap. He said homie is a really nice guy. I hope I can find the email 😂😂🤦🏽♂️
Don't ever wait for your lease to run it's full term.... Trade in a few months prior, trade up to another truck/car or whatever at any brand dealership.... When you wait for the full maturity term of your lease they always nickel and dime you.
Sounds nasty!! Love it! I'm looking to put one on my 2019 Sierra 5.3 which one is this, ProXS Center/Offset? Also did you leave the resonators or delete them?
@@EightTwoFive_Racing I did the same on my 2019 TB LT. I also taped the screens on the tailpipe. The only thing is I felt like throttle response wasn't as good and mpgs dropped by 1..?? Sounded great but felt like it brought down performance a bit... :-/
After having the exhaust for a year now are you still happy with it? I am looking at putting some thing on my 2019 Silverado also, just want something slightly louder than stock, would you recommend this? My other option was a borla touring catback, but this would be about $1000 less.
