Brother I am so glad it’s not just me. I have a 2019 Camry XSE. I bought it brand new and I am catching up with you at 226k. I am not a Uber or Lyft driver, however I do travel a lot and basically drive it wherever I go. She is my daily driver and I drive an hour and 7 minutes to work everyday one way. I have gotten 44 miles a gallon on the hwy in normal mode and as high as 51 mpg on the hwy in eco mode. I won’t trade it. Toyota continues to ask me. Just like you I replace tires more than anything. I’ve only replaced one hub bearing on the driver front. I did my brakes at 208k. My original set at that. I didn’t need rotors just pads. I’ve done oil changes, trans flushes, coolant flushes, 2 tune ups, and two serpentine belts……. THAT’S ALL I miss and rode thru a light flood which killed my battery. I replaced the battery but no rebuild on the engine/trans, I still have my original radiator, water pump, thermostat, and alternator. I RECOMMEND THIS CAR FULLY

@QuentinQuatermass Год назад
Thank you so much for this important video! I also have a 2019 Camry SE bought new in November 2018 but about 200,000 fewer miles than yours so it's good to know you and some of those commenting below are getting 200,000+ miles on the 8th generation Camry without major problems. I also am impressed that your seats and interior are holding up so well in a rideshare situation. Having low mileage I still have the original tires and battery, the only original part replaced (other than oil, filters, wipers) is the fuel pump that was replaced in the factory recall last year. It's good to hear the bearings, struts, alternator, rotors, pads, etc. tend to last a long time. Though my mileage is lower I have driven this car 4 years and it's been trouble free. My biggest complaint is how the transmission shifts at lower speed but you get used to it. Mine is not a hybrid and I assume the ones mentioned in the comments below aren't either. I wonder how well the hybrids are holding up after 200,000 miles. Anybody got a lot of miles on a hybrid 2018+ Camry? Just curious, I didn't want to gamble on a hybrid, a lot more to go wrong.
@stevenfedorov
@stevenfedorov Год назад
Yes I agree I’m kinda skeptical on hybrids because I feel like the engine switching from electric to gas may be a problem. I’d rather have either all electric or just gas powered car
@stevenfedorov
@stevenfedorov Год назад
Also I heard that the hard shifting at lower speeds is just from Toyota having a memory shift so the car adjusts to how you drive. After the shifts adjust to your driving and you accelerate differently, the car tends to jerk. Only way to fix it is with a special scanner to reset the shifting
@QuentinQuatermass
@QuentinQuatermass Год назад
@@stevenfedorov Yes, and the battery starts deteriorating from day one, plus all those other extra parts. I don't hear much about high mileage 8th gen hybrid Camrys so wonder if the battery can go 200,000 miles. With a hybrid you save lots of money on gas in city driving but if you have a major hybrid system problem then repairs could wipe that out plus you have to decide if it's wise to fix it or just junk it. I didn't want to go down that path so got the regular gas model.
@QuentinQuatermass
@QuentinQuatermass Год назад
@@stevenfedorov True, normally the shifting isn't a problem, it's when the computer gets confused whether to select 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear after you slow down then accelerate abruptly. I've heard the 2022 model has shifting programmed better , so wonder if shifting could be reset better in the 2018-21 Camrys. Og well there's always the paddle shifters!

I have purchased Toyota Camry/Aurion combustion engined vehicles for thirty years. The last three have been new V6 models. The 2021 SL model Camry is by far the best yet. The quality, reliability and performance of these vehicles has been outstanding, particularly over long distances in the Australian climate. The 1998 CSX Camry is now owned by my daughter, with 256,000 km on the clock. I have owned other new brands in the past and will remain with Toyota. Great video Steven. Glad you are happy with your Camry. I have the exact same 2020 Camry but mine is LE and I've only driven it to 15K miles on it so far. Overall a very reliable car but sadly I am noticing some minor quality issues that never happened on my 2007 SE. 1) Interior rattles and buzzes during summer and cold winter (plastic door panels, dash, front AC vents). 2) Uneven hood and trunk panels, unacceptable for a brand new car, causing the edges on these panels to chip their color when they touch ice 3) The ECU is loud during winter. It slightly buzzes when I hold my brakes (Toyota said it is normal). 4) Just like in your video, the rear center seatbelt beeps whenever there are passengers in the left/right zone, I have to always tuck it. Overall I am a bit disappointed with the car, a lot of quality cuts in this generation. The new Lexus ES250 will be my next choice for sure.
@stevenfedorov
@stevenfedorov Год назад
Yes I noticed the seatbelt beep right away it’s a pain with my riders. I have to always keep it buckled. One trick I noticed is when I pick up riders, I don’t park the car, I simply wait until they get in the car while the car is in drive. It beeps less often. Also I start noticing some buzz noise coming from the driver front wheel side. It sounds like how you explained it. Anyway thanks for the comment, really helps 👍

Unfortunately I haven't had the best of luck with mine. Alot of weird issues, also had a hit and run back in 2020. Found out my car was in a previous accident before I became owners. Which now makes sense even before my accident there was things going on. I'm ready to trade her in. My 2nd Camry and both have been unreliable. So I’m looking to get a Toyota in Jan 2023 after my 2 year mark with the Altima! Leaning towards the either a 2019 or 2020 Camry. They seem to be cheaper than the Avalon’s.
