At that price with an automatic gearbox, 7 airbags, ABS, stability control and proven reliability over decades, why would you even want to consider something else? All the competitors are left desperately trying to catch up.
My family owns a Vios XE. It is really a very dependable car. I really don't mind if other people/reviewers consider it as a very common model. According to our neighbor who is a veteran mechanic, one of the advantages of the Vios is the extensive supply of spare parts throughout the country. The Toyota Vios is indeed the Philippines' version of 'the people's car' (the English translation of Germany's 'Volkswagen') :)
It is priced almost as other's top of the line variants, but at least you get 5 adjustable headrest for each passengers, a maplight and a domelight. Also has safety features that even others at higher price point doesn't have. The lack of other accessories like alloy wheels, foglamps, keyless entry are alright, it can be bought aftermarket.
Aesthetics & Features: Honda City > Hyundai Accent & Toyota Vios Fuel Efficiency: Hyundai Accent > Toyota Vios & Honda City Parts & Reliability: Toyota Vios > Hyundai Accent & Honda City Just my thoughts. No hate please.
meron na kami nito 1st brand new car almost 5 months na samin, kahit hulgugan lng ung samin masaya na kmi. napakaganda nyan pra sa budget car pam pamilya, baguio prang nsa patag na daan ka lang lakas humatak sa uphill. wala sa presyo yan ingatan nyo lng tamang check up on time wala kng mgiging problema jan khit cguro 7 yrs nyo gmitin pwdng pwd. dami bad comments dito sa xe nbasa ko lng kya napacomment ako hehe. ung xe namin alagang alaga sana mtpos nmin 5yrs hulugan lol
Mr. Oh Soy karamihan nmn hulugan, good choice yan sir matibay ang Cvt transmission ng toyota at matibay talaga ang vios, back in 2005,base model nyan 500k,un kaibigan ko may 2005 model at buhay pa at un isa nmn kaibigan ko vios 2012 buhay p rin, downside lang nyan bagsak likod pag punuan pero d ko alam sa newer models, mas gusto ko design un vios na sinundan nito.
Hi I've been a fan because of your honest reviews, can you create videos from different generations of vios? I've been saving up to buy second hand car for 2 years now still can't decide what's a good choice to buy :)
I got the 1.5 E variant. Reason why i get u said it at the end of the video . Its a Toyota so higher resale value in the future. Reliable and perfect for the city . Cold aircon even when the car is stuck in traffic . Fuel consumption is amazing i get around 520 KM per full tank which is not bad at all . The only thing i did change in the car was the wheels as i installed a 16 inch rims for added stability and looks as well
How high could the resale value be when it's dirt cheap? Also there's a million of them out there and customers aren't paying top dollar for a used Vios when they can get a new one just as easily. The only people interested in a used Vios would be fleet managers for taxi companies, and even then they pay only the bare minimum.
I love toyota..pwede na to..pwede namn pag lagyan ng foglaps.
Im just regular commuter no car and no car expert. Pero napapansin ko through times toyota lalong tumitibay even running 20yrs. Ung revo ng tito ko up unto now good condition going 17yrs.
Honest testimonial here. I LEFT MY PHONE AT THE CAR ROOF AND DROVE 6KMS AND STILL HAVE MY PHONE THERE. I went to work which is about 6 kms from my home. Road is a mix of the typical barangay pavement and national hi way traffic. My garage is newly built and does not have lights yet. Fearin to step on some dog poofs I lit my cellphone flashlight and put it upside down on the car roof. For some reason I forgot to get my phone and began my travel to work and it was on the last 1km before work that I realized that I dont have my phone in my pocket or inside the car. I hurriedly drove and parked and checked the roof and surprisingly my phone was there. Luckily there were some moist that created some sort of a vacuum (not exactly sure if that is the right term) that made the phone stucked to where I left it Just kudos on Vios XE's riding comfort and suspension.
same here, I left my screw driver and some screws where the windhields are and traveled from pampanga to zambales. I didn't even notice them bouncing around.
Hello help me decide pls. Xe vs Xle. Does the 15 inch tire (plus other add-ons) worthy the extra bucks than the 14 inch of xe?
Hi, I'm a newbie of cars and would like to know more about vios. We own a toyota vios e manual and I drove it to the heights of batangas and seem to have a difficulty on hill slopes/upward sloping drives. Is it because of the engine power or is there something I can modify on the car? Can you recommend anything? I really would like to use vios for everyday use and maybe can survive the rough terrains and upward curves of ph. Would love your stories and tips. Thanks in advance.
Replacing my old 2014 model vios j with this 1, reliability is a big factor. My vios j now at around 230,000+km no problem after almost 5 yrs makes you think before buying other brand.
Actually same as with my workmate almost 350km 2007 model a blue one haha we're a sales agent, when you hear its engine haha grabe galit na galit 😅 sa sobrang tagal
Toyota Vios 98 Horse Power while Honda City 120 Horse Power. Same price range from Vios E and City MT. Honda City is way more elegant, reliable, and solid engine. 😊
I dont think, the City is any more reliable or solid, but I agree, it is more desirable. You get the 1,5 liter engine as standard in all models, and it look more elegant. On the downside only the 1M+ peso TOTL City get the same safety equipment as an entry level taxi spec Vios, which is frankly kind of unacceptable. So for me it still would be the Vios, until Honda change this absurd attitude, that safety is only for the rich.
@@fundiver198 yes the Vios has 5 or 6 airbags as safety advantage to 4 airbags of Base MT City. But, the City have the rest basic safety advantage like fog lamps, security alarm, immobilizer, ISOFIX which are way more important for day to day travel. The top of the line Vios G Prime CVT that cost around 1.1M is totally overpriced, it's the cost of Honda Civic 1.8 S CVT with a whopping 139HP compare to 98HP of Vios. Honda City alone matched the 120HP of Toyota Corolla Altis plus the advantage of iVTEC technology. Anyway, it still boils down to the rider, each to his own. 😊
This was only released after we bought the j variant, too late as we didn't know they would. Would love to have an automatic one but the e variant is out of our budget. Right all variants have hill start assist really great for new manual drivers. No more handbreak method.
2018 Toyota's design is decently good However this year design is not appealling Back of the car looks like a elantra Would rather buy a honda Or wait for a newly designed vios
So basically its only difference from the Vios J variant is its touchscreen infotainment system? other than that its identical to the J variant from what I can see.
is this a good car for first time car buyer? will be used for city driving mostly and occasional trips to nearby provinces (100-200km away). And can this last 5-10 years? lol
Toyota Philippines should just ditch the 12 volts and gives even the basic model a rear camera. It's a safety matter. And I think most of us would agree
Its not. Either the tank was not properly filled before, they started they test, or the traffic was so bad, your 2,4 liter car would only have done 4-5 km/l.
But ngayon nahati na yung sales nila.
