After bogeying four of his first six holes, three-time U.S. Open champion Tiger Woods caught fire and finished with six birdies, including four over his final six holes, to shoot 2-under-par 69 in the final round of the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach (Calif.) Golf Links. It was his best U.S. Open round in a decade, putting him at 2 under par for the championship.

The improvisation was so telling of his patience as a champion: to play in pain like he did and make the adjustment to basically swing at 60% and finish that way was incredible.

@@dw-nb2zh Seriously, Nicklaus wouldn't have lasted a day with multiple back surgeries AND a fused spine. Tiger won the US Open in 2008 with a broken leg AND a dislocated knee AND a playoff. Who else? Mental toughness is his hallmark. These young "flash in the pan" players the media loves to hype can't touch Tiger with a fifty foot pole, even at age 43. Three or more Major wins and Snead's record of 82 wins is certainly not out of reach for Tiger if he stays healthy and motivated. Most of the pundits said he would never win another Major. Voila! He still may have some spurts,but thats all. And dont mention he won the Masters. He was handed that by the others leading that made dumb shots late in round. @yamamancha 5 лет назад
@@terrythomas790 Handed a Masters victory? That's the dumbest shhh I've read in a while. Is this Brooks' burner account? Tiger didn't even have to par the last hole to win. lol For every golf pro, it's about putting together 4 good rounds. This year Tiger has 4 top 10 finishes and 1 win, A MAJOR. He's Top 15 on the money list despite playing less than any guy among the Top 170 players. I guess the other guys handed him the Tour Championship win and 7 top 10 finishes last year, eh? Tiger is only going to play 12 to 15 tourneys a year from here on out, but when he plays he moves the needle. He'll do just enough to make cuts in most, contend in a few, and rack up a win here and there. We get to enjoy this golden era a little bit longer before Tiger decides he can no longer compete and decides to hang it up. For now, deal with it.

Tiger's 43. There are nine players older than he who won a major (and most are in the modern era). Given Tiger is (subjectively) the greatest player to ever grace the game I don't think it's unreasonable to see him in contention for more majors over the ensuing seven years. 25 more to go until his 50th birthday. Only injury, not his will to win (as evidenced over holes 61-72 today), will thwart him.

Not saying that he is going to dominate the way that he did 10 years ago, but I expect to see him playing at a really high level this summer, especially in the FedEx Cup Playoffs which is 4 big tournaments. If youre curious how holf scoring works google is your friend. Its very simple. All golf does is count how many times you hit the ball over 4 days and 72 holes of golf(18 holes per day). The person who hits it the least wins.

I dont understand the hater comments. Theyve prob seen more golf in their lifetime than me and i know and see that every golfer is not in the top in every tournament, doesnt win everytime, is off leadership by a lot many times. Hes golfer numb 5 in the world, plays like every other golfer, still plays veryyy good did u not see the last tournament and this one with the fairway shots and how many saves he did early on and all the great long birdie putts?? I dont get it

I got a call from the IRS and was told I would be audited if I did not watch this entire video titled "Tiger's final round". First they forced me watch, then they lied about this video ONLY being about Tiger. I think I have a right to whine...
@Seenya59

Tied for 21st. Why does he rate these videos? There are more videos on the USGA RU-vid channel for Tiger Woods than there are for the winner of the tournament. That's just wrong.

It's garbage. I like Tiger as a golfer but media and Tiger "fan boys" make me hate Tiger making a cut. He's no where even close to winning and they still give him more camera time than those that are actually still in competitive placements and slowly climbing the ladder.

Tiger has to play more rounds like last year. He is not playing enough in my opinion. It seem like he’s trying to play his way into form in the tournaments. Last year when he played more weeks he got better and better and by the time the British Open came around he was playing the best on tour.

Telling you all right now, TW will win a tournament in the next month or 2. He's playing way too strong to not win, his ball striking is very good right now, all it'll take is a hot week of putting and bang he's going to win and I guarantee it'll be soon!

@@ivanfromearth5004 - TW is scheduled to play "The Open Championship" from July 18 - 21 at the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland. That doesn't mean he won't squeeze in another tournament, but if he does he hasn't announced it. The other tournaments between now and "The Open" are as follows; JUN 20-23 Travelers Championship JUN 27-30 Rocket Mortgage Classic JUL 4-7 3M Open JUL 11-14 John Deere Classic

Same for other golfers. It never topped 58 degrees. I think the ball was not flying as far but one would expect him and his caddy to adjust. They did not seem to.

I watched the end of the tounament on Sunday. The leaders struggled to maintain par. Missed fairways and long putts. The announcers were saying holes 8-13 separated the wheat from the chaff. Without that miserable start I think Tiger may have had a bigger smile on. I thought I saw something that said he was ranked #5? He did not look like it this outing. I"m wondering about his pain level. Anyone see or read any comments by Tiger on this?
