For this much money they should just update the thing. Keyless go, updated nav screen, updated gauges and xenon lights and maybe an optional supercharger and its the best SUV on the planet.

Great video - really appreciate the time you took. I love my built 4th Gen - but $54K, no KDSS, no locking front diff, no front sway bar disconnect, no apple car play, no modern anything from a nav or audio, no basic electronic safety equipment at all. It's not about reliability, it's about modernizing the platform, seriously, 2020 we "might" get Apple Car Play.....

Moonroof Tip: after the moonroof slides back automatically, pull the slide back button again to open the moonroof a few inches more! Discovered this on mine through the T4R forum 🤙🏻

I’m a Jeep guy I have a Wrangler 18 and GC 15. I have driven a 17 4Runner and I will say regardless of price you know it’s bare bones but it runs without hesitation. Not to mention the Hummer sound it makes on a cold start :)

Agree - Calvary blue is still rocking! No regrets getting the 2018 when I did and instead missing out on the fun summer waiting for the 2019.

The voodoo blue 4Runner is absolutely gorgeous. The voodoo blue looks good on all 3 Tacoma tundra and 4Runner though. Love this thing. Prefer the voodoo blue over the Calvary blue but can’t go wrong with either. Still wouldn’t trade my all black 2018 4Runner.

Yeah your blue is way better although they did away with my favorite color which was the gray. I may look at the black one but Tacoma has my interest as well.

I wonder if the moon roof and side mirror blinkers can be added by ordering the parts from toyota and installing them yourself

I've always loved the voodoo blue on the Tacoma, I definitely like the color but not sure I could look at it every day. Nice to see a different color, but I don't understand why they added that when they already had the Cavalry blue. A green or other color would have been nice for sure. One thing that annoys me about the pro is that Nautical Blue isn't an option

great looking truck... we have two 4runners and a venza...... however. the next purchase will be a Model 3 Tesla. really close to the price of this TRD for the performance model 3... wish toyota would get with the tech.

you are right, it sould have the TRD Pro in the back.... I took a look in the toyota website and it has it.

I have a 2019 TRD Pro and mine has the TRD Pro on the back right side. I guess they forgot to put it on.

Heard the 4runners will only have the trim level badges on the side of the car and nothing on the trunk door, I think it’s from 2018 or 2019. I have an sr5 and it only has the sr5 badge on the side.

When you're on the trail and kissing the sky at a crazy angle, the last thing you'll be thinking about is your trd pro badges. Not fooled by the badges at all. If the Pro came with the GX 4.6 liter engine... it'll be better.

I saw this one selling at 65K at the Garden Grove Toyota dealer...

"speakers sound mediocre" Sorry, but I spent some time in the JBL and the non-JBL and once you put in some music (like techno) with crazy bass, there is a BIG difference. The JBL thumps WAY harder than the standard system. Even at full-blast there was no distortion from any of my music.

This truck will be full of all the amenities and tech that's out today, it just won't be for another 8 years, lmfao.

So true I’m tired of all these fan boys saying crap like you don’t know why I buy this. Really? You buy it because you are a fan boy that has taken the bait that is the Toyota marketing scheme. Sell you something of inferior quality (nowadays not always, but to many frame rusting issues to not admit there is a problem with quality) then tell you its “old school” just so they can save money and charge an exorbitant price. They have all these features in the Tacoma like the push button start (Which is great f you actually work for a living, imagine doing iron working all day in a cement factory covered in cement dust and sweat so much sweat its hard to get into your pocket, then you will know why this is a nice feature. For those people that don’t do hard work like this it just seems like a gimmick and I get that but for me its an awesome feature.) The Tacoma even has apple car play and climate control as far as I’m aware, so why doesn’t this $50k vehicle. I love the body on frame design but that doesn’t outweigh the neglect that is the rest of the vehicle. If you want to be duped and pay $10-12k over what it should be then go ahead. This is nothing more than slicked up 2001 model. Nothing has changed except the price.

The thing's I hate on my 5gen trd, and there are simple. 1.no sunglass holder.2. The button for mirrors does not have light so is not visible at night. 3. No cooling seats button. 4. Night time it is hard to find on lock button because no light. 5. No enough storage as a off road car. 6. heater fan is super lazy for a suv. 7. Aluminum shape Trim on passenger side getting scratches with little things.

I would take it in a second! It is over priced but it is the last of its kind! Buy a car based SUV for your wife and you can have your tech!

I like an old school 4x4 such as a 4Runner. But this is the last year. The 2020 4Runners are going to get stuffed with all kinds of gizmos and doo-hickies. It's the way cars and trucks are going whether you like it or not.
