Awesome toilet and so very rare. My town and its old buildings there doesn't have this kind of toilet. You can install the original tank or hook up a Sloan flushometer valve if you prefer.
Absolutely fantastic find! I can't believe you got that for free! And the flush handle below the tank is just ridiculously cool. Great story behind this toilet too. I can't wait to see it flush!
Thanks! I've been shying away from round toilets for sometime unless there are really special and I couldn't pass up the deal! Especially with this tank having the cool bottom flush lever. It's very neat how they routed the linkage up through the tank.
Wow! What a great acquisition to your toilet collection! It’s even cooler since it has the flush handle mounted at the bottom of the tank. That’s also a great back story on the toilet as well. The fact that it was free reminds me of when I found my 1920s Camden Pottery company toilet in someone’s trash pile years ago & fixed it up. There are still videos of it on my channel even though I no longer have the toilet. As for the Douglas Gloria, the first time I saw one or heard of one was in 2009 on Force311999’s RU-vid channel. His had an original seat that had been restored as well as a front mount handle and was installed in his downstairs bathroom.
Thanks! The quality of these toilets is from a different time. It really was a heyday for plumbing fixtures and there were lots of different ideas being tried and that's one of my favorite things about the bottom flush lever. I remember the channel you're talking about. I watched that video last night. He has some great pieces.
@@vintagekohler6085 He sure does! I love his videos of toilets he was selling & the one of a basement mens room at an old military building that had all sorts of early 1900s forward trap toilets , including a few “Standard” Modernuses & Ejectos as wells as a bunch of Douglas Leaders all with original vintage Sloan Royal flushometers.
