People ALWAYS overpay for a hot rookie's first proper rookie card when it comes out, then the market corrects itself. I recall Luis Robert's Topps RC selling for stupid high prices last year when it first came out. Best to just be patient and wait for more products to be released at which point nobody will be paying $150+ for a raw Hoops Ball rookie

The lamelo ball at 6:33 might be a short print like a red back

Have so much trouble getting behind Hoops hobby this year. Subpar class, and Hoops was a product you could get easily at $80/box before the boom. Just can’t justify $400 for a Hoops hobby box in a year with a subpar rookie class.

I still can’t believe that a Hoops Hobby Box is this expensive (around $400?). It drives some collectors away from buying hobby boxes since they are out of my budget. Why is the price so high? Thanks Jeff I always enjoy the content! Long gone are the days of buying a 18-19 retail box of prizm basketball for $99.99CDN! You basically couldn't lose and had a chance at a hit to make some $$$ - Now with all the prices you need to get a big hit just to break even? I don't understand why people are still buying them? You can't win anymore and if you think you are going to hit that $100 000 card I would suggest the lottery instead, sadly enough you have a better chance. I only buy retail now at retail prices if I run across them until the prices come down which are not sustainable. From what I have seen from the breaks now is that about 75% lose 24% break even and maybe 1% profit??? People must be catching on that the only ones making money are the breakers and the sealed product resellers! I don't expect this to change much until the Gov't reverses it's anti-trust exemptions that it has given all of the players associations allowing them to make monopoly deals with whomever they choose!!!

Deni is in no way a disappointment he just hasn't gotten much pt and with Westbrook and Beal on the team he doesnt get many chances but he has shown enough to know he has high potential the question is how will he shine with those two chucksters on his team. Also Rui needs to get some shots. Westbrook and Beal together doesnt look like it will translate to winning. Looks more like it will translate to slowing Rui and Denis progression

I am new nba cards and am getting my first packs soon (hopefully). What cards should I be sleeving? Just the popular rookies and numbered cards, or even more? I will be putting the less valuable cards in binders anyway so its not like they will be laying around but I just want to know before I buy any.

Pretty sure that first LaMelo was a red back. You shouldn't have gotten 2 in 1 box and it was in the insert/parallel spot and it would have made 3 base rc in a pack instead of 2.

Thanks for the first look! We tried to pick up a box right when this opened but couldn't add it to the cart, will have to find some blasters, mega, and cello's retail (refuse to pay secondary markup...would rather buy the desired card up front or nice vintage!). I honestly believe the design and collectible/investor appeal will be better on Premium Stock. Not bad though!
