I'm very impressed by the RDX. A lot of car for the $$$. One thing that never gets talked about is the "cap-less" fuel filler. No more dealing with or losing fuel tank caps. All cars should do that.
Thank Yo u for showing me the 2020 Base model. I take delivery on a Blue one in 2 days. Very Informative. You have made me make my decision very simple.
@@ShieldsJustice _ I love this car. The best part of this car is the auto- locking doors when you shut the door and walk away. Great gas mileage too . I recorded 370 miles once, on a full tank of mixed driving. No problems or complaints so far.
I agree. Just bought the 2022 base RDX and loving it. Test drove BMW X3 M40i, Audi SQ5, Genesis, and Lexus but you can't beat the value of the RDX. Wish they added a touchscreen but that's about all it's missing.
@@derrekb4501 Acura base is 46,300 in Canada and the same options in the Genesis is 55,500. Acura is the bar far the best value. I like the Genesis too but at nearly 9k more and it's the first year which is a gamble.
@@derrekb4501You are wrong. The base RDX comes loaded including a panoramic sunroom that you have to go up in trim to get in the Genesis. Not to mention you get that ugly steering wheel and those weird exhaust tips on the GV70. The RDX is the best value and it's not even close.
Just bought an Advance loaded plus roof rack and mud flaps. Around $47k. The brakes are making noise during a hard brake. The gas mileage is worse than my 2016 V6 RDX. But I love the RDX, this is my 4th RDX.
I'm looking at the same 2 vehicles, top trim levels in both. I have driven both on 24 hour test drives. You can read my dislikes about the RDX in my other post on this video, but no car is perfect. The lexus is a smoother riding car but RDX handles better. Lexus is quieter, especially under acceleration. The Mark Levinson audio system is better (amazing) in Lexus but the top level ELS in RDX is VERY good. Lexus is a more luxurious car but some things are worse. Steering wheel only heats at 3 & 9 oclock pos. in lexus. RDX is the entire wheel. Headlights are better in RDX than triple beam LEDs in lexus. RDX has more storage area. Lexus rear seats recline - RDX don't. Lexus uses regular gas & engine has port & direct injection to minimize carbon buildup. Lexus is more of a luxury car where RDX is more of a drivers car. And between the top trims the lexus costs $10K more. Good luck and let us know what you end up getting!
Great points on the comparison. That’s a tough one. I might just squeeze by with the Lexus, just because the badge says Lexus. That’s unfortunate it has to be like that. But brands name matter, that’s why people buy them. Do you want to drive around in a Kia or do you want to have an Acura or Lexus badge. No matter how great Kia might be, it’s not for me.
How does the stereo on the base model compare to the ELS stereo on upper trims? Is it comparable to a premium stereo in a non-luxury car? How many speakers are there? Sorry, having trouble finding info on this.
I was on market for midsize SUV in 2019, tested RDX first as I had previously owned 2004 and 2006 Acura TL 6 speed manual, great cars, over 200K mls, very satisfied (prior had 1996, 1999, 2003 Accords, all unbelievable good cars!). I did fest drive Audi Q5, Lexus RX 350, BMW X3 and many others... I did like RDX, but when I read reviews in CR and actual RDX owners in Edmunds, I decided to stay away from Acura for now..54% owners rated it 1-3 out of 5 :-( , this car has real problems and Acura seems doesn’t care. I’m leasing 2019 X3 since June that year and very happy with my decision (MSRP $54.895, yes it’s more $$ compare to RDX, but it definitely worth it, owners rating 4.3 out of 5).
It looks to be so, but does it have less hard plastics than the old generation? Even the base 2018 model has hard plastic everywhere. Which seems kinda unacceptable for a premium car.
Look at Acura doing much better, 👏 because I have a 2015 RDX which I love, but my husband always teases that his credit card is larger than my backup camera display and he's Right 😂😂🧐😳 Power liftgate is standard now, damn I wish mine had it but oh well... What's the engine or did I just miss that part. 😊
For a luxury vehicle it also has so much hard plastic and no wood/metals (imitation or otherwise). It looks like the base has a much better interior now, which is so nice for a brand like that.
Just few weeks ago , all the acura dealers told me to go home because $500 difference between their price and my offer. Now , they are calling me to coming back , NO THANKS
My sister-in-law has the 2019 RDX and everything about the car is great EXCEPT the infotainment systems.... It doesn't hold Apple car play, keeps going on and off and crashes in the middle of driving - it's very distracting and I've read that there's a lawsuit going on.... I wanted to trade in my 2013 RDX for the newer, beautiful model, but this is a MAJOR PROBLEM... She's owned it for 2 years and is now going to trade it in for something other than Acura/Honda and I will do the same, unless they stand by their customers and do the right thing.... r
I have the 2019 base RDX and haven’t had that problem. I also have apple car play. Maybe she just needs to update the software? I haven’t had any issues with crashing or lag at all either.
My 2019 RDX has same car play issues. I tried all dealer suggestions. Restart iPhone. Have new genuine Apple cable. All software is up to date. Otherwise car is great. Better then GLC same as X3 in all aspects. My seats are not leather. Maybe that changed for 2020
I have the base model crv, which this car is based off of. For $27k my moms suv is full of hard plastics, crappy cloth seats, and the floor mats and carpeting are very cheap Velcro material. I hate that car. It’s like a geo metro in terms of build quality.
