I was 4 years old in 89 when these came out. It was the first pair of Jordans I ever got in my life. My dad wouldn't buy me anything else but he would always buy my shoes. When my Pops told me my favorite player had a pair of his own shoes and that I could get them I don't think he realized he started something. I will be getting these when they release.

I have the last release of this shoe and the leather looks much better on the 2020 upcoming shoe. That plus the Nike air stitched on the back is why I’m definitely copping it again.
This was my first Jordan ever I actually had in gs sizing, I loved those so much. Unfortunately outgrew them in 1 year, didn’t even really care about the 6s bc I was so pissed that I couldn’t fit into my 5s anymore. We didn’t call them 5s & 6s back then, just new Jordans. Looks like a pretty good retro but personally I like the clear soles better without that blue tint, the blue tint just don’t look right on that shoe imo. I’m buying it either way obv, this particular Jordan reminds me of my childhood more than any other shoe altogether. I still remember the day my dad took me to the local sneaker shop and bought me them, was a great fuckin day!
I hate that blue tint, should be clear but I’ll be wearing them alright! The problem is the blue wears off faster on the bottom but around the edges of the bottom the blue stays longer and that’s the visible part when wearing em. U can only see the yellow on the soles of my 09 space jams when u turn em upside down, when I wear them the edges of the bottom are still clear & that’s what people see. If you’re gonna make a real OG pair u gotta make em w the clear soles without that awful blue tint. Blue tint looks good on Concords & Columbia 11s but awful on these. Just not the way I remember em
I got two pairs of the black metallic 5's one for wear and one for wear years later....these I love og colorways especially with the nike air.....since I was born in the 80's I grew up with nike air on the back.....so these mean a lot to me....also had the og 4's and 5's when they came out in 89 and 90.....history is great.....
Do you prefer the silver tongue or black tounges? I like the black tongues just a little better. there is no hypebeast shoe or collab that will outdo these og sneakers.

Dude I have the lows of this shoe. Its still fire and its the first pair of jordan I ever own and still have it on this day . Sure its beat down and yellowing but I still hold a special space in my heart

Fair Question I get asked a lot. I don't know him & haven't watched his vids for real but from what I do understand, he mainly reviews UA's, fakes, whatever you want to call them. I respect that & understand there's a community for that on RU-vid, however my sneakers are not in that category. They are Authentic. The process to produce a "UA" sneaker overseas involves reverse engineering an authentic pair to breakdown the structure & blueprint then mass produce pairs that are close in quality & mechanics; that said, the UA's are probably being produced now. Hopefully people see this comment because this is the only time I plan to actually speak on it (LOL) Thanks for watching!

The P51 is actually a propeller powered fighter, the only jets flying in WW2 were the ME-163 Komet and ME 262 Swallow built by the Germans. Other than that great vid and they look dope I can't wait to cop a pair.
Must cop for me!! I still wear my 2013 pairs , I got the 2000 versions too but the sole is cracking so I cant wear them so I'm happy these are dropping , if they put the 23 on these that would be so dope !
The differences between the OG and the Retro.....the retro has the Jumpman logo on the back of the shoe and says "Jordan" on the sole. "Air Jordan" tag on the back tongue is NOT upside down. The height of the tongue on the retro is lower than on the OG. Now this OG is nearly identically perfect to the original 1990 shoe. The Nike Air logo in the back, the tongue is the correct height (higher, like it was meant to be displayed) and of course the "Air Jordan" tag on the back on the tongue is upside down, the way it was meant to be. The only thing people say is the Nike Air logo is slightly larger and lower than the 1990 shoe, but that part is debatable. This colorway was originally released in February, 1990. It was created in 1989 sometime around the summer time and was featured as a new shoe for the next Air Jordan. I hope they re-release all the original colorways in original form for the 30th anniversary. This is my favorite of the Air Jordan series.
Go look up when Jordan's jersey was stolen on Valentines Day he's wearing them and a buddy of mine had them..Hence also Jordan "12s Valentines Day" because 12 was the number he wore that game

I don’t kno to much about the 5s but I like that 23 on the side OG or not. I got the 07 black metallic 5s with the 23 on the side instead of 2016s, they just pop more.
But those 23s on the side of those retros wasn't even the right font 23..MJs had a completely different font. The 1990 OG black tongue 5s had the correct font 23 on the side
JCR1992 that was a great shoe I can’t wait for this to actually drop so I’ll have one with Nike on the back only fire red I have in my collection is the one from the pack and it was only cuz it was based off his PE of the fire red with the stiched 23 on the side like that was a dope future of the 5 was mainly used on PE til they started coming with more color ways
