2020 Aprilia RS 660 | Ridden & Reviewed 

I've ridden nothing but GSXR 750's for the past fifteen years. This thing is going in my garage next. Finally someone recognizes most riders don't care about 200hp superbikes that cost more than a new car lol. Parallel twins have more than proven their worth.

Never been a fan of Aprillia but hell this piece of art just changed my mind

As the owner of a 17 Tuono Factory I have to say this bike checks a lot of boxes. Aprilia have upped their UI with new left-side controls and an updated TFT. I'm really surprised at how good the intake and exhaust sounds are from the parallel twin. I'll never get rid of the Thunderbuggy but this would make a nice addition to it.

They wont be able to keep up with demand. Brilliant job Aprilia.

This is such a clever pitch from Aprilia. Super bikes are just ridiculous for the road, it’s an ego buy. They look great but are a waste. This bike fits into its own category where everyone wants to go but didn’t realise. Enough power, great looks, user friendly and different and exciting enough. BOOM 💥

Really looking forward to checking out the Tuono 660 next year.

This feels like the new age/ modern SV hole thats been left open since Suzuki refuse to modernise in a non-inept manner left the market open and these will fly out of the window! Looks beast, sounds great, plenty of power for those moving up to full A licence and beyond- very clever move from Aprilia.

Nice vid. Really like this bike. Got perfect road performance if a bit pricey but not a deal breaker. On the road it's much more fun to thrash a small bike than tiptoe about on a big one imo.

This looks like an amazing learner bike for the track. I learned on an SV650 and had a couple spills that would have easily been avoided with some electronic intervention. Until other manufacturers step up their game, I feel like this may even be THE road and track all-rounder for novice / intermediate track riders that that only want / can only afford one bike. Looking forward to the track review. Excited to hear what that engine sounds like uncorked as well!

See! This is what a good company does. They makes things you didn't know you wanted until they make it. And damn, I don't just want this bike, I need it. Before i even sit on it. I need it.

When you get it to the track it would be interesting to see you red line it in each gear to see how fast it is.

Personally I'm waiting for the Tuono 660 but it's good to know the engine is well handling. I was a bit worried about how a 660 Parallel twin would feel with 100 horse power... I think an Aprilia is going to be my next bike ^^'

Only 1 or 2 % of us bike riders can use a superbike 1000 to its full potential this perfect 100hp is enough for most of us.

Isn’t there a Tuono version on its way too? Would add even more practicality to what sounds like a pretty nice package.

Interested to try this but poke all the rider aids on a 100hp bike really not needed! Well apart from the cornering ABS that's always handy. Shame it's not 120 hp but sure it's going to be brilliant as a road bike and like you say bridges that gap between 125 and Tuono for Aprilia. Very keen to try one in the UK ASAP

The exhaust note is simply...fantastic! Looks like this bike needs a second look...a usable and sporty, real world 'road' bike. Very nice.

Normally I hate yellow, don’t even know why it exists in this world. But the yellow paint job looks so sexy!

I feel like all parallel twins should be cross plane like this and the mt-07. It just sounds sooooo much better

Great review. I was hoping for the same as you. Perhaps we had it good in the eighties with screeming tzrs, nsrs, rs250s and the 400 4 cyclinder 4 strokes.. a fun era even if the modern bikes are ultimately better.

Rennie Scaysbrook just had one at Laguna Seca and out along Hwy 1 in Big Sur. Missed him by a matter of hours, darn! Cannot wait to see one.

Coming from a new, R3, I love it. It’s sleek, more comfortable than the R6, and its got that parallel twin sound. I love it, would be perfect for the PNW.

100hp out of a 660cc twin!? That's insane. Most companies are getting 60-80hp out of a similar engine.

Aprilia RSV4 is my dream bike But we Indian have to be happy with it's SR series. Currently I am owning a SR 150 Race Love from India ❤️

A 600 is all you need! This will be a great upgrade from a Yamaha R3.

I wanted this bike. But with the delay, I got a GSXR 750. I’ve had two CBR600s, an R1 and now the 750. Loved them all for different reasons. Am I correct that this bike is less performance than my CBR600s? My GSXR is more than I’ll ever need, just as my R1 was. For me it’s not about the overall top speed, but a combination of looks, performance and how I feel (fit) on the bike. My question is “with over two decades of riding experience and skills to match the typical track day super star, will I be underwhelmed by this lower performing bike? I mean, how much slower is it than a CBR600?” That’s what I’m wondering. I prefer to ride safe and sane most of the time... but not all the time. And as I age, I am thinking about how a more upright riding position would be better for longer rides. Aging sucks but biking keeps us young.

Beautiful looking bike, in a class of its own really. Cannot justify changing my brand new CBR650R though and Honda reliability is brilliant. Will be skipping this one as for 10k I will be picking up a 2017-2019 Fireblade but beautiful bike nonetheless

They should have cut the RSV4 engine the other way around[, making it a V-twin instead of a parallel twin. To me parallel twins are a bit malaise, reserved for beginners and british classics. If they would have put the SXV550 engine in this thing (and made it actually reliable), this would have been the true successor to the RS250. With the parallel it's just another beginner friendly road bike, which I suppose is what sells nowadays.

As an RSV 4 owner, I have to say I like it a lot. But, my cash would go on a 765R if I wanted a middle weight. Or get a Daytona.

Nice Road Sport bike. Now interesting to see what Honda's response is going to be. Waiting for slightly more powerful and lighter CBR650R to take on RS660.

First. Am rather surprised they went down the usable daily rider rather than the ready to race moto 2 bike. Also why did they put wings on it if it a road bike?

perfect timing. i was looking to get a cbr650r because i thought it was the only bike similar to something like this (excluding the ninja 650 and sv650). the aprilia would be way better. pricy im sure tho

Nice review but I was expecting a bit more detailed because you guys got to ride it for 200kms. How's the fueling ? Is it jerky or refined and flawless ? How comfortable is it for touring? How good are those Brembo's ? What's the fuel efficiency? How's the fit and finish of motorcycle? Is the ABS intrusive?

I have a 2003 Aprilia RSV MILLE and it’s not that crazy lol just no rider aids and easy power wheelies in first gear 👌🏾
