Chris Bee talks about his recent bow switch from Hoyt to Mathews; about his growth as a RU-vid influencer; and what to expect from him going forward. #ATA2020 #LancasterArchery
I’m a no body in the industry. Shot Hoyts for the last 15 years. Switched to Mathews this year and wow. I love my VXR 31.5. Best bow I have ever shot. It holds so steady for me, so smooth and almost zero hand shock. I’m glad I switched.
Just been starting to get interested in bow hunting through Joe Rogan, and these 2 guys are obviously the main people driving the activity, would be great to see them team up for a hunt and understand their approaches.
Fantastic video PJ and without a doubt the best interview I've seen on your channel to date!! Chris Bee is a great guy and an outstanding archer and his company is definitely growing in this awesome industry!!! The hinge and UV 3 are top of the line products made by archers FOR archers!! Thanks PJ!! 🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹
Does he know there are thousands of dweebs on Archery Talk that just can't believe he and John Dudley have done this? Their whole life is in a state of upheaval.
Chris 🐝 rocks this guy is a true Archer and for him to switch to Mathews that's saying something. Love Mathew bows. Rock on Chris. Can't wait to see you shooting a Mathews bow
Yes yes it is. Its saying that Mathews gave him a fat contract! And I say good fro Chris. But lets be honest, its not like he was having accuracy issues shooting Hoyts. The boy can flat out shoot.
I was at the ATA!!! I whish I could've seen you and met you in person. You're my idle and I watch all of your videos. I hope you progress with RU-vid. GOD BLESS YOU
I shoot a 70lb matthews halon 32, great bow and love it. I was shopping around for an 80lb limb bow, sadly most companies don't make those anymore. Hoyt does, so I bought the Axius Alpha in 80lb, love the bow and don't have complaints
Bro this is the new era I’ve been shooting Mathews for years now but this is just amazing to see I am waiting on cam to switch to bow tech and tell us how he shoots so much better with his bow tech bow lol
Hoyt was the first bow I bought, but after shooting some mathews especially that new VXR, damn.. its so hard NOT to be a fan of mathews even coming from a Hoyt fan.
Bless your heart I am a fan of you glad to see you with Mathews Bows I really enjoyed the Mathew bows I like Hoyt but they are way too expensive and I cannot afford one. Me and my friends here in Chillicothe Ohio all shooting Mathews they perform extremely well I just ordered the vxr and I'm so excited to get it. Wishing you the best buddy and with your new Mathews your friend Danny
I'm a big kuiu guy, and hoyt has a business relationship with kuiu where mathews does not. Just on a company standing, i will always lean to hoyt because of this because to me the high end bows all shoot the same to be honest.
Chris Trusty Mathews makes less bows but super quality on the bows they have. I just purchased a TRX40 and I am not company loyal I buy the best product and I believe Mathews and PSE make the best product the black5 looks nice as well
@@Impossibly-Possible thanks yeah going to buy one soon just not sure what way too go I'm either set on the rx4 or matthews vxr it's a tough decision cause I've always had hoyt even my first bow was a Hoyt rebel lol I like the reveiws of vxr so far looks like I'll just have to take time and go test drive some bows thanks for response
Alex Grimm the mathews are faster then the Hoyt’s. I work at a archery shop, we speed test all the flagship bows that come in. Mathews are always closest to IBO speeds
Okay so Chris is going to Matthews and Dudley is going to PSE. I wonder what's going on with the structure of Hoyt that this is happening. This is my uneducated observation but Matthews definitely has a better social media platform and if it wasn't for Dudley and Cam hooking up with Joe Rogan I doubt Hoyt would be as popular with entry-level Bowhunters as they are. I also think the move Chris did to hit these random hunts out of state was a good move. Similar to the hunting public guys and how they hunt if a Bow company was smart they would grab those guys and get them set up with a bunch of bows. Not everybody has land hookups like the juries are the Bowman's to shoot monsters for many people the public land struggle is real. But also presenting hunting and bow hunting and a light that shows that any and everyone can get into it and my opinion is a better way to help the sport grow and stay alive. I could be wrong.
Because Mathews offered him im sure to pay him more like they all do that's how this industry Works broadheads arrows you name it if the people pay them they will use it watch The Outdoor Channel and you'll see what I'm talking about
Love your content...esp your hunting season. My guess there is sponsorship $'s involved. Good for you. I heard Iowa is lottery? How do u get that lucky? Keep up the good work.
And I said I was not going to buy anymore clothing or shoes and now my last very last purchase will be a Beereal all black hat >:( damn you made me break one of my resolutions so quickly my guy.
He changed to Mathews because they are paying him more money. Total respect for Chris Bee but It’s not complicated. He makes his living in the archery business. Hoyt makes a great product, so does Mathews. While corporate marketing strategies change, both simply want your money. Personally, I wouldn’t buy a Bow (or anything else) because of a celebrity endorsement. I buy a certain Bow because of the way it shoots for me (draw, overall weight, vibe, speed, balance, feel, accuracy). Also, price, technology, fit and finish are important. Go shoot as many Bows as you can and buy the one that “finds” you.
Although alot of comparison vids with hoyt and mathews seems like Matthew's is the way too go like option when paying that much for a bow I like Matthew's with the switch weight tech
Simple answer they got a better deal over at the other company. A new company trying to bring you over will always offer you more than the current company you're with. They didn't switch because of the bows lol all the bows are close to the same in performance its just who can offer the better sponsorship deal.
He might have jump ship too soon the Venom and the ultra rx5 have been completely redesigned... I'm not avoiding man the damn their new bows are nice... they have the adjustability of the PSE and they're quite like a Mathews...
So Bee left because Mathews has good videos and the vxr is the most quiet bow he’s shot? Just go out and say you were offered a nice contract by Mathews instead of that fluff. Name a situation in your past hunting season where a “quiet” bow would have made a better outcome for you?
@Rusty Shackleford the game you hunt will hear the slightest noise of any bow releasing. show me a study where a mathews vs other brand excels in harvesting game because it is more quiet.
@Rusty Shackleford never said there was a problem but saying you are switching brands because a bow is quiet and the digital platform of the company is great seems kinda weak. Would have liked a better explanation but seeing that his channel has not grown much over the past couple of years I can see why a company with a better digital platform would be appealing.
Lets be real. You cant buy a bad bow anymore. I bought my daughter a quest radical and i set it up for me at first and at 70 lbs was hitting a 8” plate at 60 yards within 15 minutes. Thats a 350$ fit all bow
Anybody who thinks Dudley and bee left hoyt for another reason other than money are lying to themselves. Hoyt is and always will be part of the big 3. Obviously hoyt doesn't see how paying them more would make their bottom line increase. At the end of the day Hoyt is a company and companies don't care about anything except their bottom line. Just saying.
I shoot hoyt for their 80 lb hunter limbs, but when it comes to accuracy and stability. i LOVE their target bow lineups. you get wayyy more riser than the Hoyts which is where all the stability comes from. not the limb lengths which a lot of people confuse. So im a fan of Hoyt but their target bows and even this years VXR is definitely inching ahead of Hoyt
Danny Ingram Yeah so American that they layoff 33 of their senior employees and told them that if they want a job there, they need to reapply and come back as new workers. Haha fuck Mathews.
Wonder what the bigger picture is..... My local shop has troubles selling Hoyt too as where the mathews dealer seems to be doing ok... But what BOTH shops talk about is how the 'Walmart of archery" aka Lancaster Archery is robbing them of business.......
Kim Shepherd only bow I have ever had cam lean issues with was hoyt they had to change there cable system to fix it I have had zero issues with my Mathews and I have owned just about all of them since 98 when I have seen them dry fired the only thing I have seen break is the strings have no idea what you are talking about don’t think you do either
I dry fired my Avail 2 years ago (total brain fart on my part). Mathews completely warrantied the labor & replacement parts. They didn’t have to do that. It was my own stupidity that caused the damage, not a faulty product, but they replaced the damaged parts at no cost to me. I will be a Mathews shooter for life after that.
I live in elkhart indiana and Indianapolis is 2hrs south of me. If i can save enough money to get a bow im gonna go down there to shoot. Being disabled they barely give you enough to live on let alone save money for a bow.
He left for the Money.. Mathews bows in my opinion are Less superior to Hoyt. I've had 3 of each every bow I bought I've went back and forth Hoyt's are always better.. but that's just my opinion
@@LancasterArcherySupply Being born and raised in St. Louis I'm obviously a Hoyt loyal. All I can say to all these negative comments is DO YOU .. All modern bows will do the job in the woods if you do your part. For that matter, I've never had issue with getting deer with my Howatt Hunter or Bear Grizzly. I wish Chris all the best. Too bad he didn't go with PSE and had a bow called the PSBEE 😆.. Btw, where's my birthday gift? Will it show today?? The new Hoyt looks nice!!
Both this guy and Dudley... "I'm very loyal generally". Dude you just left a company... Unless they fired you, what you did is the opposite of loyal. I'm not saying you shouldn't have done it, but to say you're loyal in the very video about you leaving Hoyt... WTF
Dudley’s contract was up. And I would never blame Chris Bee for taking an opportunity to grow being a coming up RU-vidr. Mathews I would say is the most up-to-date as far as media marketing and digital marketing goes. Both stand up guys regardless of the brand they shoot.
I don't think most of you read this... Loyalty = staying with someone no matter what. I'm not saying he should be loyal - if he's given a better opportunity, sure, go wild... but you can't do that AND say you're loyal. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
