Hey Ken & Thia, I'm new in the hood 🤠. I enjoyed your video. I live in the Swiss mountains, it's nice here, but I fell in love with the far North, was five times in Alaska. But I never was in your area, so it's very interesting for me to watch stuff from your area. I would love to participate on a bear hunt one day, thanks for taking me with you in this video. Hope you got a bear next time, hunting needs patience all over the world 👍. But the elk was impressive as well, funny how he moved when running away. Hello from a likeminded dude from Switzerland
Hi! Sorry for the slow response. Thank you for your kind remarks. Bear hunting in those beautiful and rugged mountains is definitely fun and exciting, as is seeing all the other wildlife. I have been lucky to have lived and hunted in Alaska many years ago. I also lived in Germany for four years, where I earned my Jagdschein, and was lucky enough to be able to hunt Roe deer, wild boar, and small game (including the largest rabbits I've ever seen!). I visited Switzerland several times too. Beautiful country!
Well hello strangers! Nice that you popped a video up! Hope all is well. Interesting calling in the elk. I was up in moose territory last week and was sure I heard a couple of bulls calling.
Thanks! We kind of slowed down our adventures after the PCT but are starting to get back into it again and have more stuff planned for the near future. I hope to have another video uploaded in just a few days.
@@kenthiasoutdooradventures2294 Hey we are leaving September 8 and heading up to Hayden Idaho. We are car camping along the way first stop is near Pueblo Colorado. Lake Isabell. Didn’t know if you would be available mid September to get together. Another idea would be to meet somewhere for a camp trip. We will be tent camping and I will be doing the blogging videos along the way. Give me a call I’ll be available in the evenings
Hey, Ken! And when you go back 'hunting elk', he's nowhere to be found, right?! Was wondering when we might see another vid. And here we are at an even crazier world than a year ago! Hope all's well with the two of you in the Palouse! Take care...
Hi S.E.! Glad to see you're still keeping tabs on our adventures. Yes, we thought last year was tough, what with the covid outbreak and all. But this year is worse by far. We feel so sorry for everyone on the trail who is not only still dealing with covid, but now the worst heat wave and fire season in history. Half of the PCT has burned up! It's so 😥 But at least Goldilocks and I have great memories of our hike and we're looking forward to another big adventure in 2022.
Hi Ed. I posted a reply once but it doesn't seem to show (?). Anyway, great to hear from you again. I'm starting to post more videos again and if you look at my reply to another commenter you'll see what's coming up next for us. TTL.
Hi Tom! Yes, the fires are TERRIBLE this year. We've been following a few hikers on the trail and, between the fires and the long heat wave, we're so glad we hiked in 2020 and didn't postpone until 2021. Even hikers who do the PCT in future years will be walking through endless miles of dead, burned out areas instead of the lush, green forests that we enjoyed on our hike. It's so sad....
Hi Kimberley! Thank you so much for the nice comment. Actually... we do have another adventure in the works. We had seriously discussed hiking the CDT next year (2022) but ultimately concluded we just couldn't be away from home for another six months. So, we're going to do the next best thing: do it on bikes! The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) closely follows the CDT hiking trail and is over 3,000 miles long. But by riding bikes we figure we could do the trail in less than three months; still an epic adventure! (and yes, I'll post youtube videos of the ride). We'll be posting announcements and updates later this winter.
@@kenthiasoutdooradventures2294 that sounds like a terrific adventure! My husband and I have talked about doing a biking adventure ourselves someday. You can bet we’ll be watching the two of you! Like you, he is retired military (Army MSG) and also a retired New York State trooper. (We were blessed to be able to retire young.) I am currently hiking the 508-mile Finger Lakes Trail while he is getting a piece of our property ready to put on the market. Hopefully we’ll do something epic in 2022 as well!
