I have a 300rr that I love and just rode the 200 for the first time last week. I can see it’s virtues and why someone would be attracted to it. Buying a new bike I might go for the 200. It was really fun, and that’s what it’s suppose to be about.

From what I understand the 200 is 15% smaller than the 300 and fifteen pounds lighter. Back in the late seventies when I was eighteen I had a Suzuki RM 125 and my friend had the 250. It always felt heavier, which it was by about 17lbs and the power delivery was unwieldy. I was always faster around the local motocross track on the 125. That said, I have a 2023 300 RR and will probably get a new 200RR to balance out the stable. The Yamaha WR450 will probably be put out to pasture when the 200 arrives. Cheers from North Eastern Ontario Canada!

I've been beating the crap out of her in the mountains since June on tight single track and rocks like you would ride in any hard enduro event. She takes it all. Anyone that doesn't know me thinks she's a three hundred. They are surprised at where I can get her. I know I have to shift more and I know how to work the clutch to get nothing but traction, but this little girl is so nimble. No regrets on my part for getting a 200 over a 300.

Cheers Chad, its pretty dependable. The key factor is the shape of the sides of your helmet or the chin area and how good of a contact the Pro Shot makes. The velcor is super strong and snaps into place. I personally would run a safety line just incase off the GP but thats just me. If you have a bomber connection or contact then its overkill but lots of helmet have curvy designs which makes the contact NOT 100%. Hope that makes sense. @shredfest30
@shredfest30 2 года назад
Funny how bike guys understand their own innuendo language! I have a 300, and I totally agree that you constantly have throttle control on a light simmer in the back of your mind. I've almost ridden it "UP" a tree a few times. I'm super happy with it with 35 years riding experience, but am super curious if the 200 isn't better suited to strictly trail riding. the 300 is definitely a more "versatile" machine.
@WADZUP
@WADZUP 2 года назад
Sounds like you can relate to my style of communication and giving you have so much riding experience you know exactly what I’m talking about especially when we’re talking about strictly trail. Having a bike with less power that you can ride more aggressively can be more effective for a lot of riders unless your Graham Jarvis. But surprisingly recently I purchased a 2022 Husqvarna FX 350 and this bike has seriously over delivered and so many categories it never ceases to amaze me. For me it’s a fantastic balance between low RPM idling over obstacles but having enough power on top when you need it for those gnarly hill climbs and the bike is not nervous stays planted which is very important for those sketchy hill climbs and I found that the two-stroke especially the 200cc and the 250cc are a little bit too zippy and sometimes nervous but that’s just my opinion and it really depends on the conditions, style of rider you are, what you prefer and how you like the power to come on Or more importantly how you like to build and generate power for me that is the biggest difference between two strokes four strokes small cc and big bore. If I was on a track I definitely would enjoy, prefer the 2 stroke But finding one bike that does lots of things well it’s always a bit of a compromise depending on what’s most important to you; sometimes you solve one problem and create another.

I would say the 200 is comparable to a 350 and 300 is comparable to a 450 if you were comparing 2T and 4T. Revving the 200 up is a ton of fun, it just feels so much lighter than my friends 300. 2017 Beta Xtrainer, I love the smaller frame and lower seat height and the power delivery is very smooth and linear and very predictable, and if you want to uncork it add an FMF Beta factory xtrainer pipe, open the airbox, jet, and adjust the power valve and let her rip. I have a 2013 250 Beta with fresh bottom and tuned CC Sachs forks wuth upgraded shock etc. While the performance of the 2013 250 motor is legendary, and I won a championship racing it, I like the 2019 200 better. Easier to control and dominate rather than being on the edge of dominated. The stock suspension works great and is very balanced. It gives up nothing to my 2013. The power and torque are more than adequate for a 155lb Silver Masters B racer. I got a year out of the top end, just dropped in a new piston, but will do rings at 6 months this year and a piston after the season. I race Midwest harescrambles through the trees so it has all the power I need. I did just add a steering stabilizer and run very light settings and that really helps it track through the rough stuff at pace and rooty corners.

Demo'd both 2020 Beta 200 & 300 RR, and ultimately picked up 2020 Beta 200 RR...Only issue I had was that the 200 RR in single track has a restricted turning radius right out of the box. My local shop modified the Rads & BPD Rad Guards which corrected the problem somewhat, but not completely. Love the bike, but bit dissapointed in tight singletrack with the issue at times.

I’m in the same boat. I was considering the 200RR and even the Ktm 150 at one point but after a full day of recent testing on Husky’s and Ktms on some very challenging BC single track My riding style prefers the 4 stroke with the more linear predictable, manageable power delivery with less of a powerband hit and more lug-ability, torque but light and nimble at the same time. This is purely a to each his own and you can’t go wrong either way

@@WADZUP on paper the gasgas is about the same weight as my 03 300 but feels so much lighter when your riding it. rusty watts I have a Husky TE150 and ride it in the same place you see this video. It’s an awesome bike in every way, can’t say enough. You do have to work the clutch however, not a bad thing. I’ve ridden 250/300 and the main difference is weight and torque. Weight=flickability and when you learn how to use the clutch properly, torque isn’t so much a problem.
