A good coverage of Chinese new year in KL, Malaysia has a great number of Chinese, perhaps 22% of population. A nice gesture when you distribute some money to kids as gift of Chinese new year.

In fact, local ethnic Chinese are the second largest community in Malaysia after the local ethnic Malay then fellow by local ethnic Indian. In summary, Chinese, Indian and Malay are the three major races in West Malaysia, and we also have Iban and Kadazan in East Malaysia.

hey huats up! welcome to malaysia again and hope you enjoyed the chinese new year! little thing though: the red little envelope you use is actually specifically for chinese wedding as they have the 囍 (double happiness) on it. :) its nice to see you embrace the culture. no matter what age you are, its always be a happy surprise to receive an angpao. as for the thean hou temple sign, 放生 (to release a captured animal) used to be a common thing, people would buy them from pet shops and release it to the rivers for good karma (its dumb, i know, most have stopped doing it because the animals usually ended up dead not long after the release). and i guess the temple have problems with too much animals being released there. and i can relate with your son lol, no matter how hard i try i always make a mess with those custard bun.

At 8:29 Always remember not to leave your valuable belongings unattended. Cuz i have some experience where two foreigners (some sort of Middle East people) were pretending like they're asking me a direction. I can still vividly remember they were asking about which way to go to “Jalan Maharajalela” while helping him by answering and showing him the direction, i felt like something was moving around the small deco tree behind, but ignored. We weren't realise that was when the other guy sneaked in and took my fiancee's bag and left after they got what they want. Be extra careful with your valuables everywhere you're travelling okay? Thanks for always loving my country Malaysia ♥ 🇲🇾

Chinese culture is pretty modernized, there are nothing much to experience. I rather those foreigners go and experience Malay and Indian cultures better, there are much more to explore. Chinese culture is pretty materialistic now a days, it's given up a lot of traditions and focus more on material stuff.

OMG, it is heartening to see you all in your travels really immersed into the local culture. Good on you as they say, travel is one of the best education one can have and also very enriching. Enjoy your stay in Malaysia and do not forget to go to Malacca, the oldest town in Malaysia and also enjoy the food. This is where I hailed from. Oh, it is not the amount that matters but the gesture. Very generous and kind of you and may this year bring many happy returns too.

14:22 it's pronounced "chee-lin". Most Anglicised Chinese words using the letter Q pronounce it as "Ch" sound Btw, it's cool of you guys to hand out Ang Pows to the kids :) The kids might find it a little strange that your kids are giving them though, traditionally it is married adults who are supposed to be the ones giving out. Still, you really know a lot about us than most tourists!
